Madden NFL Superstar

40 posts in this topic

This is for anyone who is using the NFL Superstar mode. I recently started one with a brand new player. He's a WR who was drafted by the Chargers and is used as the #2 WR and on kick and punt returns. After three games, he has around 8 catches for 150yds and 2TDs. Also, on running plays I make sure to put the CB on the ground every time.

I was in year...9 (?) as the starting FS for the NY Giants before I decided to start a Franchise (week 1 rosters came out).

The thing I really like about Superstar mode is the games go by in 10-15 minutes.

In last year's Madden, I cheated and made a giant linemen for the Ravens and demolished everybody. My HOF meter was filled before 4 years were up.

Hahaha just a dominant Dlinemen, it's always fun doing that. That is the one thing about Superstar mode if it's a run to the opposite side you can just simulate the play. Runs to your side though it really is fun picking on the CB's when run blocking. It is pretty easy using the WR because you can just run towards the soft spots in the defense and the Qb will usually throw it your way.

I miss being able to prepare for the draft and the combine though.
Yeah, that was fun.

I hate that my special teams allow at least one TD per game.

Nothing like blitzing when they're on their own 5 and catching an INT in the end zone as the quarterback is getting hit.

Anyone else experience a glitch in Superstar mode? It's only happened the one time, but it made my eyes bulge when I saw it. For whatever reason, two regular season games into my sophomore year as a Falcon's HB (leading the league in rushing yards) I SOMEHOW got traded to the Rams. Then when I started the next game, I was on the Falcons still.

Anyone else experiencing anything like that?

I haven't seen anything like that, but I have seen a simmed onside kick say it was recovered by one team, only to have the next play ran by the other team.

I made myself a CB. I played for tcu and was drafted by the Detroit lions. Since I only have madden 09 this sucked. But our dfence helped win 3 games even one against the colts. My guy retuned puntas and kickoffs. I'm in my sophomore season and I still haven't got a pick in the regular season. Just preseason. 2 actually when there in the endzone. Lions dfence wasn't too shabby. Hopefully the new QB the lions got simulatedly wins some. 2009 season lions lost close games. I really like superstar mode I will try different positions soon

In my last game of the 2nd regular season, the Ravens defense obliterated the Seahawks. My SS had one sack, two forced fumbles, and a PR for a touchdown. Suggs had two INTs, one for a touchdown. Kruger had 3 sacks. Josh Wilson had one INT for a touchdown. They were only able to score on a short field in garbage time, final score: 38-7.

In the Super Bowl that year, the Ravens were up by a TD against Green Bay. Rodgers went deep for the end zone and I was able to get the INT in stride and seal the game. Two back to back 19-0 seasons. Ray Rice has been averaging 140yds per game on offense.

So this is the end of my first season as MLB's for the Chiefs...

As a rookie: 17 games

- 4 Recovered Fumbles
- 6 Ints
- 2 TD
- 13 Sacks

I had to change the Superstar Mode from SuperSim to Player Control because I can't deal with Special Teams giving up at least one touchdown per game. It sucks because now it's doubled the time for the games. I used to get through half a season between school and work.

3 INTs
2 TDs
11 sacks

basically a slightly downgraded version of your stats! haha

I'm halfway through my third season and was just made a Captain since Ray Lewis is out for the year. Now I get to call audibles, which I do often since the defensive scheme typically blows.

That's why you can't play offense unless your the QB. That or you play HB and hope to go to a running team.

I wonder if in next year's Madden, your Superstar will get fined/suspended for big hits
No, they'll just do away with the hit stick all together. I expect there to be buttons on the QB's shoulders soon. When the DE reaches him, he merely needs to slap the button to illuminate the "SACK" light on the QB's helmet.

Did I mention I hate Roger Goodell?

I thought they would've worn some belt device that had streamers, or flags if you will, that when pulled from said belt would indicate a tackle.

ok the detroit lions just missed the playoffs in my junior season. The lions defence was beast. We would get like 5 interceptions per game. The offense did nothing though. We went from 0-5 to 10-6. we lost the last game to tha packers and they won the division. i had 10 picks this season. Now im in the middle of my senior season!

I just started my second season as a WR for the Ravens. On running plays against the Steelers, I like to him take cheap shots at Polamalu.

I'm playing as Emmanuel Sanders. It's only week 6 and I have 38 pancakes already. Hmmm. Maybe I should create you as a Ravens safety to be my (female K-9).

You would subscribe to the Hines Ward school of blocking

That's ok, I do the same. It's way more satisfying leveling your CB on each run play.

I like watching the CB if there's a called hook pattern. Sometimes they anticipate before you even stop, so I just keep running straight and get open for an easy bomb.

Here's a tip: don't go for the CB, go for the safety. There have been a couple of times where I got to the safety and he was the last man keeping Mendy from breaking it. THAT is satisfying. I always run to block inside or on the second level unless its a pitch.

I seem to get the same 10 plays. A couple of screens, runs and one or two good patterns.

Same here. I find myself yelling at the tv when it's 3rd and 7 and a run play is called, especially if I'm losing.

Never fails. Plus the screen aggravates me because no matter what, the RB is getting the ball. You get open and RB is covered? Too bad, RB is getting the ball. That or the QB will take the sack.

Yep, while fun at times, the Super Star mode sucks.
