(Merged) Steelers: Week 4

Im a Steelers fan and this pains me to say but IF there is going to be a blowout today it is going to be by the Ravens.. If the Ravens get ahead by 10 or more by halftime, that will force Batch to throw more than he is comfortable with and lead to some picks which gives the Ravens good field position and much better scoring opportunities which would lead to our D getting tired.

That being said, I think it will be a close game like everyone said, Im thinking on the lines of a 20-17 score going either way.

Also, don't forget that if Batch struggles and the Steelers D can keep them in the game by only being down by 7, we have Leftwich who is healthy sitting on the bench now. I know everyone thinks he's a statue but he played good for the Steelers when Ben was out 2 years ago.

Here's to both teams having a hard hitting & injury free game. I'm so pumped that it's finally game day!!

Go Black & Goldenrod(I know how people hate that we call ourselves gold, lol)

I hope I am wrong but I think Flacco will have another melt down today. We may win but not by much. I have prepared myself for either case.

If it's a Meltdown, I think it would be more like the Jets meltdown than the Bengals Meltdown.

I'm just a little confused why everyone is talking about Harrison and Oher matchup when the Woodley and Yanda matchup scares the living feces out of me.

Batch has an accurate arm but it is not very strong. Even though he is up there in age he is somewhat mobile in the pocket. He moves like Ben in the pocket meaning he can dance around and buy an extra second or two, but he has nowhere near the strength of Ben to shrug off a blocker. He is a very smart qb because he's been around this offense forever and doesn't make many mental mistakes but he can definitely be forced to throw a pick because of his lack of arm strength.

Overall, the Steelers don't want Batch passing more than 20 times this game. And if Batch does throw on first down it will probably never be more than a 10 yard pass.

His arm isn't that weak but I suppose Pennington is a fair comparison on the other aspects.

honestly i think the qb matchup is pretty close, even thou Batch is 4th string.
Batch is fragile, but Flacco turns into a complete chick when we face the Steelers D

Flacco gives this one away on us- 17-10 steelers win...the steelers D will make him panic, like always

and after this year we need to find a real qb!

What's the down side? You usually use that statement when everything went wrong.

Thanks for proving me wrong Joe. You played great today. I admit when I am wrong but in this case I am glad I was.
