If The Defense Was Not Called For Those Two Horrible Calls

Ok was thinking if Ray and Sizzle were not called for those two horrible penalties, and say the out come was a Raven win at the end of the game. If the offense still played that poorly and came out with a win against Cincy and had no bogus penalties, does any one think they would have kind of swept that poor offenseive play under the rug?? Or could those penalties kind of been a blessing in disguise, that has all of this attention brought up about the lack of execution so far for this offense. Just wondering what others might think about this.

Chances are, we'd still be talking about the poor execution of the offense even if the Ravens had gone on to win the game. People just wouldn't be as mad about it.

I honestly don't know what he's thinking when he's calling plays, 'cause he sure as hell isn't thinking about how to exploit the D.

Bottom line is the team did not play well enough to win--if Ed Reed was playing they would have 2 more scores because he would have had 2 ints.

Ed would've probably had one but not both. Zbi(FS) dropped one and Landry(SS) dropped the other. Ed probably wouldn't have been in the position to catch the one dropped by Landry.

The offensive problems wouldn't be swept under a rug, but it wouldn't put all the fans into mass panic mode either because we won.

It would be the more realistic approach. We'd say. Look the offense was bad, Flacco was horrible, but we managed to win. Let's get the Offense back on track game 3. A lot more hope, because if we came away with a win, despite all the turnovers and missed catches, it would say a lot about our team.

It still does say a lot about our team, how we were able to keep within a score the whole game, even took a lead!

Yeah I think I am just looking at the loss along with the penalties and poor offensive play as a blessing for it have happened week two. I would much rather it happen now rather than later, well that's an obvious one of course. Well Joe and the offense will have hopefully a rebound confidence booster game against Cleveland. Then if that comes through in their favor, the real test will come the following week in Pittsburgh. And I don't have a clue why Cam would even have Joe go to the air after Cincy went up 12-10, not with under 5min left! Hopefully Cam will rebound as well with his play calling this week!

Nothing would be different with the work being done to correct the generally bad execution by the offense. Even with the win (which I think was in the bag without the BS flags), poor offensive play would not be accepted by anyone. And there is nothing to coach to correct the techniques that were flagged for being illegal. What a shame to have a HUGE effort by the D wasted and the chance at a win compromised by the incessant, game changing flags in our games with Cincy.

With the win, it sure would have been a much better Sunday evening for everyone Purple!

Didn't we talk about the craptastic offense after the Jets game?

The fans on these boards will always have something concerning to talk about after the game. We love football too much and we love the ravens too much to not want the best out of our team.

I mean, we are already talking about who or what we should draft next year.

Most Ravens fans are football savy, so there would still be talk of poor offense although I think that perhaps the chicken little sky is falling feeling would be less appearant in the responses.
