They have no O-line and a battered Roethlisberger. The Steelers should be very worried about that. Mendenhall never runs well against us and our secondary has clamped down without Washington in it. It's up to Flacco to take advantage of a not-that-impressive secondary. But he'll have to make quick throws because our O-line isn't that great either.
Yeah quick throws especially with all the wind. I know there are many reasons why we should and can win this game. I just wish I felt like that. I haven't been sick on gameday since week 1 till now.

So, I'm about 15 mins away from the stadium, and I get pulled over for speeding. Cop asks me what the rush is, and I tell him I'm on the way to the game. When he comes back from doing whatever they do when they take your license and registration, he asks me if I'm a Steelers fan becuase he saw the PA plates on my car. I open my coat and showed him my Flacco jersey ... Guess who got let off with a warning???

You shouldn't post about that (ala Ray Rice). You might get him fired.

Maybe you can get in the door with Ray Rice. Look man! I got off with a warning too!

No other place to put this... so

Matt Ryan throws his second pick of the game.

Looks like Flacco could finally have the better stats this year!

Matt Ryan continues his struggles away from home. They better hope they wrap up home field advantage throughout. Because they suck away from the turf.

Even though we're already a few pages into the Game Thread, just a friendly reminder, PLEASE help us Mods out by reporting any inappropriate content you see, specifically smack talk from Steelers fans; we're expecting huge spikes in traffic tonight during and after the game, and we'll need all the help we can get.

We have a team of Mods on tonight, but we're still missing a good number of us because of their attendance at the game. So again, we urge you to PLEASE give us a hand and hit the Report button when you see smack talk and DO NOT quote or reply to posts in violation of our rules.

Thank you all and let's hope for a resounding Ravens victory tonight. :)

More like an H-back. We'll probably see a lot of singleback formations.

Pitta will serve as the H-back, which is a combination of TE and FB; the skill set of an H-back is specialized (think Chris Cooley) and serves several purposes, especially in the way of protection.

Ok. That's along the lines of what I was thinking but not in such purty talk. :D

Surprised that McKie is inactive as well. I would've thought a veteran like that would pick up the playbook quickly....unless he's injured.

Or not in game shape.

Very true. The lack of a pure FB is a bit of a hit though. Looks like Heap just pulled extra blocking duties on the outside.

Purple jerseys with black pants.

Is this a new look?
It's not a new look but I don't think the team has gone with that combo since the early days.

I have a feeling that, as suggested above, there'll be more singleback formations. Looks like there might be an extra dose of Willis McGahee for two reasons: 1) he's historically played well against them; and 2) he played well out of the singleback formation during his time in Buffalo.

Even with more McGahee, though, I can still see this game being put on Flacco's arm again. As the pre-game hype has brought to light, the Ravens acquired Anquan Boldin specifically to beat the Steelers and his mere presence on the field made a statement during the last match-up. Boldin hates the Steelers as much as our players do because of his Super Bowl heartbreak of two years ago, so he's thirsty for revenge.

*gasp* That's the combo I've been using in Madden during primetime games and the Super Bowl for the Ravens!!! I love this coincidence. :)

Agreed. Todd is the man but with him called to block more, we'll probably see more targets to the WRs.

I honestly don't care what jersey they wear as long as they win in them.
...And they're not Steeler jerseys.

"We're not gonna be pushed around and we're not gonna be intimidated" -- John Harbaugh

I love Billick, but he hadn't said anything that straightforward with that much conviction in the last few years of his tenure. I like Harbaugh's bluntness. For as much as he likes to play mind games in the media, you can tell when he's getting straight to the point and he saves that for the times when it's needed most.
