Week 10 - Baltimore Ravens At Atlanta Falcons

2,641 posts in this topic

Ehh. I'm actually already over it. I just now realized that the defense isn't feared anymore and the false bravado certainly in play. We need to either make scheme or personnel changes in the off season. If you would have told me we shut down turner and Joe had 3 td passes, I'd be happy with that. Just like the Minn. Game last year, the d just couldn't hang. I think to first half took a toll on them.

We could use a return man on kick offs and punts too. Can't give the ball to the other team on punts and Reed on that last kickoff.... Just mind blowing.

we do Donte Stallworth... but harbs wont put him back there because he dosent want him thinking about his foot to much

Then why let him play at all, its not like flacco is goin to throw to him

If you guys thought that this performance by the secondary was bad.... wait until we play the saints.
we wont face mask your boys for an easy 15 yards raven4eva, yeah we saw it. Refs cost you a 3rd and out and Falcons got 7 because of that call.

Well the Ravens almost pulled it out . But you have to give the Falcons and their QB Matt Ryan their due . Rayan showed the reason he is considered one of the best QBs in the NFL today . His passes where on target most of the night. The Falcons defense gave the Ravens all they could handle and more . The ravens as a team finally woke up in the second half and played like the ravens can. Now for the officiating , there are too many bad calls in the NFL that has an effect on the out come of games. And in tonight's game there where two very bad calls that decided the out come of this game. It gave the appearance of a home town calls and as we all know the officials are suppose to be neutral .

I like your thinking, but it will be easy for us to overlook Carolina with a surprisingly good Buccaneers team to follow.

Just trying to regain some optimism.

If nothing else, Suggs played like a man possessed and we need that effort every week from here on out if we want a shot in the playoffs (should we make it)... Flacco showed poise and came back very nicely from the terrible INT and showed us that he's the guy for the future... Bottom line, our D can't be trusted anymore.

C'mon people. Fellow Ravens fans if this game did not show you that Ryan is better than Flacco & that Matteson has to go than I don't know what you are looking at!

He actually ran two reverses and both went for about 15 yards. Good thing we don't give him many touches...

sadly as an outside observer Mat really isnt, check the stats. I was mad at your OC calls, but what do I know. I mean run run run. Instead of pass on 2nd and 2, I guess we do things differently.

Well it looks like we play second to Pittsburgh again this year. John Harbaugh and staff were totally out coached in this game. He keeps sayig in his press conferences how the team hung in there and played their hearts out. When are they going to start playing to win. Still lots of problems that are not being corrected.

Good points. It would indeed be interesting if Ryan were a Raven. And isn't Wade Phillips looking for a job now?

It sure would be nice if Ray Lewis would have taken this loss on his shoulders since its "his defense" but they interviewed him and he talked about a turning the ball over and not scoring in the first half. He has Never been a guy to carry blame. I love Ray but man, he wants a lot of credit when it goes good but won't take the load when they blow it in the 4th. Might I mention, we have blown a lead in the 4th quarter in all 3 of our losses.

Flacco has a great comeback, and he was finally going to get the credit he deserves, but the defense screws it up for him.

Our defense has given up so many 4th quarter leads. This is Baltimore man. Thats not supposed to happen...

The season isn't over yet... Pittsburgh has a tough schedule, and they have to play us again (in Baltimore). That said, New England beating Pittsburgh on Sunday would be huge for us.

I won't harp on Ray. The man can only do so much. I'm sure if he could play for everyone else, he would. But he's only one of many guys that makes up the defense. The secondary is just exactly who we thought they were....bums.

I definitely get that, but when have you ever heard Ray saying he or the defense needed to play better. They had that built in crutch to blame losses on the Offensive for years. When the o delivers the d fails, generally.

True. It's hard to say what Ray really thinks. I'm sure he knows the D needs to step up.

We never had an offense in the first half, and we didn't have a defense all game.
What a terrible game, super bowl, I really don't think so...

It was clean. Roddy tapped him and the guy made a scene.

Other than that, you guys played a great game against us.

I swear, I thought we were gonna lose and maybe we should have. But we came out with a win and that's the way it goes. Go Falcons!
Roddy even said he "stuck him" good try pal.

I'd rather lose by a Game Winning FG than a Ref missing a very obvious Offensive PI!
I understand that calling the penalty would have given us another chance but they were already in FG range if they couldn't get another first down or TD. We likely would have lost.

The blame needs to be put on our defense IMO and you could make a case for our OL for not holding up and not allowing Flacco enough time in the first half (I mean quarter) to make a play. Unless you want to credit Atlanta's DL...

Our defense gave up what, 2 or 3 long *** drives last night?
