Something about this game makes me think that the outcome was already pre-determined. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'...
I totally agree! It was a Matt Ryan lovefest from the beginning, every call went their way, when Wilson got pushed down in front of the ref, VEGAS won some big spread money!

if we want to got to the super bowl we need to be the #1 seed because we showed tonight we cant win on the road, we shulda won, but i cant see us going to pittsburgh or indianapolis and winning... we need to have home-field throughout

Go ahead and neg me, we're not going to the Superbowl. We'll make the playoffs but won't last long I don't think. If our D was on par with the D from a couple years ago, definitely.
No need to neg for saying the truth. I've been saying this for a while so its not over-reacting. We simply don't have a championship defense, and our offense isn't good enough to carry us yet.

I guess Roddy White will stiff arm his way through CB's on routes now that he got away with it 3 straight plays. Bologna end. Refs didn't do their job.
It was clean. Roddy tapped him and the guy made a scene.

Other than that, you guys played a great game against us.

I swear, I thought we were gonna lose and maybe we should have. But we came out with a win and that's the way it goes. Go Falcons!

They were at the 33. Offensive pass interference is 10 yards. So they'd be at the 43, which is what? A 53 yarder? Not exactly a gimme field goal. Didn't see the other posts with the exact same thing I said, oh well.
Add 17 acutally.....60 yarder

Well, it's 60-yards as was mentioned above... Have we ever won a game in which Winter's officiated?

dont blame the refs. the only people we the fans can blame are our players and coaches. for the 6th time in the past 2 years our defense has failed to hold a forth quarter lead. (Both those years have been under the defensive coordinator in greg mattison). We dont know football like the coaching staff does, but i do know when a team looks good defensively, and ours does not. Apply more pressure gregg, tsizzle cant be our only pass rusher.

Tsizzle was a monster. Anquan is a man amongst boys.

At the very end of the game, Babineaux or whatever his name is on the Falcons batted the ball forward. The ref threw an illegal bat flag, but then Ronny Winter comes over and says it's not an illegal bat, he batted the ball backward. How exactly did he bat it backwards when the ball went forwards 10 yards after the bat? It's nonsense.

By the way, what would the penalty have been if it was an illegal bat? Would it have been enough for a first down?

By that logic, Tony Gonzales "made a scene" by slowing down and allowing Gooden to plow into him for a defensive pass interference. That PI was the right call and flagging White for a PI would have been the right call.

Suggs' "facemask" was a joke, at the very least there should have been offsetting penalties there.

Finally, on the first play of the last drive for the Falcons on an incompletion, both Suggs AND Ngata got tackled. Pushing them back ten yards would have been huge.

As far as the fingertip catch is concerned, that could have gone either way and basically was the game. No way a ref overturns that call with under a minute to go at a home field. Nice catch and throw either way.

The fact remains, we looked horrible in the first half and let a few calls that went against us determine the outcome. This does not seem any different from Ravens teams of the past.

I thought the offense played great in the second half and the defense just couldn't step up to close it out.

On the play where Roddy scored the winning touchdown ;)

Exactly. Besides, why would a corner fall down on purpose and let a play like that get blown wide open? It was glaringly obvious that White knocked him down.

Holy CRAP!! In the post-game show, after all the bad calls, the missed calls, the favoritism for Atlanta, these post-game show pundits can only talk about whether Ed Reed had an illegal hit on Matt Ryan? Dude was coming at him to tackle him, Ryan slid, Ed does everything in his power to adjust his trajectory and not hit him. That's not an illegal hit. It's impossible to fully stop that momentum. He barely even touched him when all was said and done.

My problem is with the basics that coaching can solve - Blocking, Tackling, Holding onto the ball, making adjustments earlier in the game Cam, disguising blitzes- not telegraphing them Matty

I also love how Pitt gets the vast majority of their so-called tough games at Home (Atlanta, New England, and the Jets) whereas WE had to go on the Road for all 3 of those games. That's just not equitable!

Sometimes I think refs are persueded to help certain teams along the way - not just tonight for Atlanta, but if you saw the Indy vs Eagles Sunday, refs tried their best to help Indy

Once again a poor performance in an NFL game by its part-timer referees. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, until the NFL steps up like the other major sports and hires full time referees, we'll suffer under this lousy system of mercenaries who masquerade as "impartial."

Everyone tripping about the non-call on Mr. White, remember they were already in field goal range and have a pretty darn good kicker...They would have just beat us by two points instead of 5.
I'd rather lose by a Game Winning FG than a Ref missing a very obvious Offensive PI!

I can't see ozzie not drafting another corner or safety in the first round next draft because we are not going anywhere with a secondary like this...... That tackle by landry was terrible

Yeah, in the end, our D got exposed... Mattison's future after this season has to be in question.

Oh, and another thing, why did it take so long for our offense to click? I just don't understand Cam's line of thinking. The drive after our first TD (in which we ran it for 51 yards) we don't run it even once and we punt! Something's wrong with that!
I couldn't believe that either, I was flaring and swearing.

and don't forget they have to be young too because these old guys can't keep up with the pace of the game today.

Well...if nothing else, we can say that Joe proved he is our franchise QB once again by giving us a lead from 13 points down in crunch time. We just need to start playing better early so we aren't having to fight from behind. Then, we have to maintain those leads by wearing the defense down with our 3-headed rushing attack.

On to the next one. The Panthers better run for the hills, because we're going 13-3!

We could use a return man on kick offs and punts too. Can't give the ball to the other team on punts and Reed on that last kickoff.... Just mind blowing.

This is why I have us getting Ras-I Dowling in my Mid-Season Mock, we need a Better Corner!

I like your thinking, but it will be easy for us to overlook Carolina with a surprisingly good Buccaneers team to follow.
