yea i read about Rolle...everything seems to be going in the right direction but lets remember to keep our wits about us, because we were confident and whatever else going into last season as well and look how it turned out for us...not to mention the fact that we were hit hard by injury.....hopefull the injuries we have this season (if any :) are non-season ending)

"I expect the team to bring in a young cornerback, especially after what happened last year. I'm in my 11th year, and I think Chris [McAlister] is going into his 10th. But there are corners out there older than me starting and playing well, so I know I can still play at a high level."

Even Samari knows we need a new cornerback, good sign that if they players realize it, Ozzie might pick one in the first like we need.

of course it is....i mean its good to know that the players like the veterans on this team also have an eye out for the future of this team...i mean the game of Football will continue on when they retire as it always has and so its great to know that the older players see that, and address with dignity and look out for the "State of the Franchise"

When Ogden decided not to play in the Pro Bowl, some thought that was a great indication he didn't want to play anymore.

That's pretty absurd. You would think that if he decided to end his career he would go over there and enjoy his last game in the NFL.

sure, but who'd we pick? I mean the NE Pats are gonna pick the best one, would we get jenkins, cason, who?

I have a feeling New England is going to snatch up a LB (Gholston) or T (Clady, Long). There's even rumors that they are in the running to trade for Pacman Jones.

seeing how we have the number 8 pick overall...we surely have a Top 10 first pick, but like i said in earlier posts....the CornerBack Class is more so 2nd-3rd Round type....i think that if we do intend on picking up a Corner it would most likely be someone like someone with great talent and can step in and perform at a continual high standard play in and play out every week, every season....

2008 CornerBack Class

01. JR Reggie Smith, Oklahoma

02. JR Justin King, Penn State

03. JR Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio State

04. SR Antoine Cason, Arizona

05. SR Paul Oliver, Georgia

06. JR Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech

07. JR Jack Ikegwuonu, Wisconsin

08. SR Zach Bowman, Nebraska

09. JR Aquib Talib, Kansas

10. SR Dwight Lowery, San Jose State

11. SR Simeon Castille, Alabama

12. SR Terrell Thomas, Southern California

13. SR Trae Williams, South Florida

14. JR Allen Langford, Wisconsin

15. JR Chevis Jackson, Louisiana State

You're missing Troy's Leodis McKelvin, arguably the best corner in this draft. He also has return skills comparable to Devin Hester considering he holds many NCAA return records.

you cant compare to Devin Hester he's the best of all time

Mike Jenkins is the best corner. Leodis McKelvin is rated higher because of his impact on special teams. We have Yamon Figurs let's bring home a USF Bull who actually had to cover good receivers.

Leodis McKelvin averaged 13.1 yards per punt return for 7 touchdowns and 23.7 yards and 1 touchdown on kickoff returns throughout his college career. That's not bad, and he may get even better as a return specialist.

ROLLE needs to go.. I have not read that article yet but just saw on NFL NETWORK that he said his EPILEPSY is under control.. (SAME BULL CRAP we HEARD last YEAR.. and it wasn't..). I saw someone post Rolle thinks we need another corner.. yeah another corner to take his place. Rolle in my opinion is overrated and getting older and missing all them games like he did last year isn't worth keeping him around when he has epilepsy and pay him millions of dollars!.

Anyone think if we went for CROMARTIE (or however spelled) would be a good idea? even though he played DIV 2 foozball. I wonder if his brother did does anyone know? i mean if he did look what he turned out being sheesh a BEAST of a CORNER!!.

Rolle could still be a factor.

Treating brain related stuff is very try and see with doctors almost randomly trying different medications in combinations and levels to get the right mix. It was under control last year then he got injured otherwise.

We definitely need better depth at the position and high draft cb (or that guy from phily whose all but positionless w/ samuel).

This was definitely a weak position last year where we often got caught on the short pass and teams marched all over us only to be slowed and often stopped in the redzone.

Leodis McKelvin also played in the Sun Belt Conference. It isn't exactly brimming with talent.

i'm not going to comment on the CB position because it's obvious that we need more there. rolle deserves a chance to prove he is healthy and shouldn't be cut or anything because he missed a lot of games last year. people have to realize he was and is battling a disease that goes beyond football. that would just be gutless to let him walk because of that.

about flacco, i wouldn't take him with the 8th pick but if he is around in the 2nd round, i would seriously consider it. how could it hurt? even with steve and kyle on the roster, it is apparent that neither is the long term solution. if troy was to falter for some reason than there's a backup plan in flacco. also, if selected, flacco would push troy for his job, so all in all, we get to see what troy is made of.

Guys are always so fast to jump to conclusions, ROLLE covered RANDY MOSS this year while he wasnt 100%, guess what Moss's stats was? 4 Rec for 34 yards and a TD, Now thats some old guy who cant play anymore, after all the only thing Moss did last year was become the #1 leader of all time in TD rec, NOT including he was on the 98 Vikings as a rookie who was #1 in total points in NFL history.. then guess what he goes to NE then they break all the records.Covering Randy Moss is a pretty easy task I guess...

and i think that Rolle can still contribute greatly to this team....like i said before,......remember a few years ago when Rolle was injured and was out for a few contests? and we had the back up step in and fill the viod?.....the man was getting burned on pretty much every play and the the opposing team saw that and took full advantage of that fact....we really saw just how much we missed Rolle in the line up. and thats after all the talk of Rolle being too old and unable to play at a high level.

not sure....i mean mine has....well seeing how i havent had one in 8-9 years.....i think its more so on the stability grounds of keeping it under control with medication and what not.....after all...this is something to which he wasnt born with....its just something he developed after the 2005 or at the beginning of the 2006 season i think i remember him saying. it can be controled definately thats for sure, and we all saw how he played when he was in and focused....well. so he can still perform. without a doubt.
