Minus 2 picks since they werent his fault, i have stated enough times why.

Lets just hope we don't see a performance like yesterday for at least the rest of the season.

Are you actually a Steeler fan? Because you seem way to cool to be one. :P

do you know how many bad games Big Ben had, plenty

but if we gave up on him we would have never seen him throw for over 500 yards 3 TD'S and no pics against greenbay last year

even great QB's stumble sometimes

look at Favre

1TD 5INT is not good but Flacco can easily turn that around. Unfortunately for Flacco he will be going up again a stingy Steelers D in 2 weeks. The good thing is Flacco is a winner and to bench him after a bad performance would crush his confidence going forward. He is our guy and I have a feeling he is going to prove it for the rest of the season.

Im glad that we play the steelers soon so that he can play well and shut all his haters up. Man i barely heard one bad thing about him before the season and after his worst game of his career, people are overreacting and calling for his head saying they never liked him. Fair weather fans of a player in my opinion.

Thats awfully nice of you Steelers Prophet, but it doesn't apply here, Flacco is a handoff QB, he's here to control the clock and as a bonus he has some great physical tools, but he'll never be a pure passer.

This is especially cool coming from a Steelers fan. Thanks for breaking this down- I did something similar myself last night just for my own benefit with Peyton Manning. I saw the parallels not so much in stats but in trajectory of career. The stat that stuck out to me was that Peyton threw 4 interceptions in a game against the 49er's in his 4th year. Looking forward to seeing you in 2 weeks- glad Troy has returned and he looks great. With Ben returning later in the year, we'll see how everything shakes out between our teams. Good luck!

Wow, must be a blue moon, we agree on something! As far as the 2010 season is concerned, that is absolutely right.

Interesting find...and the year he spent on the bench is a very big factor as well. Not to mention I hear he had some pretty decent players on offense with him.

I think it is waaaayyy to early to even consider running Flacco out of town, we need to see what he does over the course over the year. We're just frustrated because we have been expecting big things from the offense this year, especially against the better defenses, and we haven't gotten it yet.

Peyton had a game against the Chargers (2007) were he threw 6 int's, and only lost by two. Peyton Manning!

Thanks for those stats, Prophet. I missed your posts. :)

I am still reserved though.

That may be your opinion, but I doubt that the front staff brought in Boldin, Housh, Pitta, and Dickson thinking, "We're not even going to try to use them."

Now maybe Flacco will never become an excellent quarterback and maybe he will, but, regardless, he is not here to be a hand off machine forever. He was drafted to be a franchise quarterback.

I agree, I was just saying that to point out the obvious...personally, I'm very confident that Flacco will become a top flight QB.

I doubt they brought in Boldin, Housh, Pitta and Dickson thinking "Boldin can show up game one and everyone can take game two off" either. Besides, you know who else was drafted to be a franchise QB? Kyle Boller.

I was trying to make the point that Joe shouldn't be compared to Bulger or other topnotch quarterbacks who have significant experience- no one should expect him to be a Pro Bowler like Bulger just yet or a field general like Peyton. Compare him to his contemporaries or compare him to those veteran quarterbacks at similar points in their careers.
By the way, Peyton was bloodthirsty last night, lol, taking his own brother apart like that.

Thanks for the stats.

So he came in there and stunk up the joint? What QB hasn't done that? I remember the Ravens giving Palmer a few bad QB games where we made him look like a rookie (stat-wise). Bad games happen. I'm glad it's early in the season and not at game 14 or something.

And at the end of the night, guess who's 1-1? The Colts as well as us.

Are you serious?!?!? Why would any one want to even think of a hall of famer QB like Montana and compare his stats and then look at Joes at this point and time?? I think there is a WHOLE lot more to worry about other than comparing Montana/Flacco stats. If things keep going the way they are nothing gets done about it, you can start comparing BOLLERS stats with FLACCOS!

all im trying to convey is that if you would bench flacco under these circumstances, you would also have benched joe montana if he was yor QB

and we all know that wouldnt have been smart

Thanks Prophet, logic and a quantitative thought process aren't qualities that exude from the more pessimistic Ravens fan, especially with a game like yesterday. I try to look at the big picture. Our D has been lights out, and we have hung tough with 2 quality teams, on the road no less. Like I mentioned in another thread, expectations are sometimes too high when dealing with a very young QBS who never face top tier talent until the NFL.

Half our members are still wondering who Joe Montana is :)

But Prophet made some nice comparisons there,Joe had a horrible game, all QB's go through it.Just wonder how bad it woulda been if we won lol.I can't stand on a high pedestal because I myself bashed Joe(to personal friends not really here),but I really want to see how he bounces back this season.Should he be lifted from starter? No. Should it be a possibility he gets pulled from a game if he plays poorly?Yes. Maybe a benching at the half wakes him up.

Sometimes we need someone who isn't so emotionally involved in the team to come in and tell us that we're behaving like idiots. Thanks, Prophet.

I was very upset with how the Ravens offense played. I had to take time to think about this and try to draw a logical conclusion. There were many posters jumping ship and wanting to fire coaches and bench Flacco. I was determined to see these past two games for what they were.

Joe has two new receivers and he has had very little time to work with.

I am sure they are pressuring Joe to get them the ball.

With new receivers, Joe had to learn a new system.

The last two years he had only two targets and now the coaches want him to completely change the way he has been playing ball.

This is only the beginning of Joe's 3rd year.

Joe has comparable numbers to Brees, Brady during their first two years.

Joe's numbers were almost identical to Palmers except for the interceptions. Our defense dropped plenty of Carson Palmers passes that should have been intercepted.

At least there is hope.

In 2000, the Ravens went through a TD drought that was so bad that I almost couldn't bear to watch them play. Everyone was screaming for a QB change. Meanwhile, our defense was incredible. We ended up winning the SB. I'm not telling the Ravens to bench Flacco, but I'd like to see Bulger play in games where Flacco struggles. I agree that after a few interceptions it's time to admit that Flacco was not on his game. As in baseball, where they often pull the starting pitcher in favor of a reliever, we need to consider putting Bulger into games that Flacco struggles to gain experience in case Flacco goes down. Billick refused to budge when Boller stunk up the field and it cost him his job. Take heed, Harbaugh.
