Benching

i think something was wrong yesturday because 4 starting QBs were bench because of poor play. and if u look at flacco's performance yesturday it makes you wonder what was goin on. why were these QBs playing so bad. and then on top of that bret Favre even played terrible. i think yesturdays performance proved that every QB has a bad day and i hope flacco rebound from this for the rest of the season and we go on to win this superbowl

Yea the Great Brett Favre had 3 INTs. Brady was shut out in the second half and threw for 2 INTs and a FF (without Revis for half the game), Garrard had 4 INTs (I think).

Just a bad day for a lot of Qbs yesterday.

Every QB has bad days of course, but from what I've been reading from the analysts about our Ravens performance yesterday they all point to the O-line not playing very well.

"All those skill position additions on offense won’t matter if the Ravens can’t keep Flacco protected and run the ball consistently. Many people will point to Flacco as the chief problem for the disappointing 20 points scored in the first two weeks, but that offensive line isn’t playing to last season’s level."

Its not all on Flacco

Flacco had a bad day? More like he stunk up the place. Now, the real test is if he can put it behind him and torch the Browns.

The real test will be two weeks from now against the Steelers. Joe has rarely struggled against cupcakes. I'm not going to say it's all on him but he has to step up against play-off teams.

I don't know that Flacco has ever had a good day against a cover 2, or for that matter any D that relied on lineman to get pressure and routinely left linebackers and safeties in coverage. But usually with a young QB, the book on them is to blitz heavily. Flacco seemed to make some progress in picking up blitzes against the Jets. Hopefully he'll learn a few things this year against different coverages and bounce back nicely.

So many things contributing to his bad numbers so far:

1) Cover 2 (cincy)
2) Two very good defensive teams
3) New receivers
4) Road games
5) Short week
6) O line/pressure
7) Play calling.

Some of those things are on Joe, some aren't. 14 games left and hopefully a few more. We'll see what happens. I think he'll be alright, but giving him the hook against Cincy might not have been a bad idea.
