Ray Lewis simply isn't human and we are blessed to have had him for this long. There was a SI probably 3 weeks back(it was the one with the few page article on Running Backs and their longevity in the NFL) and it stated that for every year someone plays in the NFL they lose 2-3 years on the end of their life. Ray Lewis is an athletic freak(in the best way possible).

As for the Browns game this is the game that our Offense NEEDS to get into a rhythm and build some chemistry. If we don't build some chemistry and get a flow on offense I worry a little bit about the middle of our season. This is the game the offense needs to kick into gear and play on par with our defense.

"I'm a machine, jerk!"

I think there was a study in 2004 that found that the average lifespan for NFL players is 55 (52 for linemen).

J.J. makes his 100 consecutive start on Sunday.
It is the third-longest streak in Ravens' history behind Peter Boulware (111), Matt Stover (110) and Terrell Suggs (105, ended last season). Even the unassuming Johnson was impressed when he learned about the upcoming milestone this week.

"That's a lot of games," he said with a sheepish grin. "It's hard to get that many games in a row."
(I like how the picture doesn't even show most of him.)

*bump*

For you PuRock.

Much better. Couldn't expect anyone else to bump it.

Are you going to this game?

You know it.. leaving tomorrow morning and spending the weekend up there. And yourself?
Not this game.

Well godspeed, hopefully you have some well behaved season ticket holders around you. They should all be in good moods like last year as we should win this game.

I wish I could remember exactly what section I'm in.. I know it's the same as last year and the people around me were pretty cool actually. I remember one couple complementing me on being there and staying the entire game.

Edit: After checking out the Ravens seating chart I'm almost 100% certain it's section 112.

I tell you.. if I was a beer drinker I would but unfortunately it's only liquor for me. My friend that is accompanying me though is a beer drinker so I'll let him know. They have a brewery in the downtown area or do you know of any specific bars that have it on tap? Or do they have it on tap at the stadium?

I'll have to defer to the others guys on this one. I'm not familiar with baltimore and have not made it to a ravens game as of yet. I do know that plenty of local bars serve boh just not sure of the names.

BTW, what's your poison in liquor?

I thought palya's drink had grape in it?

Jager straight? Yikes, I'll stick with my Guinness.

Playa's drink... AKA vodka/cranberry; grey goose if the price is right. :D

Or just straight jager shots.

LOL, I tried to get something started with seneca and his mobility but brownsfan killed my mojo....
When did this thread become a bar?

I guess there really isn't much to talk about in terms of game play.

Killed mojo? Whoops!

Ok Seneca is mobile and can run around like a madman.. mainly though he chooses not too! There.. conversation restarted. :D

True, he did only rush one time last week. Although i wouldn't say he was terrible. He did throw for 229 yards and a TD. The turnovers are what did you in.

In all honesty I'd rather face Delhomme. At least you know you'll get some picks and get in his head. Seneca if he chooses to move his feet and avoid the rush and pick up first downs.

But while Wallace threw for 229 about 60 of those yards came on one big play to Cribbs. He made some good throws but he made some AWFUL throws; overthrew Robiskie and Massaquoi at least two times each and the floater that was intercepted by Flowers was just terrible. QBs make bad passes but his need to be less bad; they were atrocious. He needs to read the field better too and if he can run for 5 yards instead of overthrowing a WR by 10.

Delhomme didn't look all that bad in the first game he played with the exception of one horrible INT; which was the play he got injured on. I still prefer Delhomme because he brings a leadership at the QB position we've lacked for a long time.

I'd rather face Delhomme to as he doesn't have the mobility factor and he can be rattled. I've seen too many mobile qbs gash us when they break contain. If the browns were smart they would design plays to get Seneca moving.

The funny thing is in the preseason they had some plays they used that did just that. Wallace is a career backup for a reason it appears and probably will have flashes of brilliance but he's not a pure pocket passer and they need to work around that. I completely agree about play design.

I took this quote from the NFL.com comments because I think it resonates:
Every dog has its day. The type of guys that show no concern for others and throw salt into the wound every chance they get are worthless "jocks" to start with. They will get their just deserves in time. Hey Bills fans and players. Just keep being the better man cause history repeats itself and one day the Bills and Browns will be winning and the Packers will be losing along with others that show no respect for thier opponents. Just remember to stay humble when your losing or winning. That is what a real man do vs what an "Over Grown Turd on Steroids does".
Just because we look strong on paper doesn't mean we are guaranteed anything, and I guarantee you Harbaugh is relaying this message to the guys. We can't take them lightly, and even if we destroy them, I hope we have more class then to kick them when they're down.

I'm scared of this game it's a trap believe me everyone here knows what we need to do. Run the ball and pass the ball have more of a balance don't stick to something if it not working like last week. No turn overs everyone not just Joe. stop # 16, keep QB in the pocket with pressure. i think if we do this we win but any mistakes and we loose to this team won't be good. They need to play this game and win it like there life depends on it.I don't want to hear any excuse like we need to do better, we can fix it, bla, bla, bla it's play to win the game now not next month ,week. NOW!!!

This team led by Harbaugh has never fell victim to a trap team. They always beat the lesser teams. I expect this game to follow suit.

Nothing about this game says trap to me at all. It's a divisional game, and it's the home opener. I'm sure the Ravens would like nothing else than to pound the hapless Brownies into submission this Sunday, get the record above .500 and get the ball rolling going into Pittsburgh next week.

My opinion of the game..

The Browns biggest threat to score points is going to be Josh Cribbs either returning a kick to the house or putting them in scoring position on a kick return.

Other than that, I wouldn't call the Browns defense a complete pushover but I don' think that they can hold up for an entire game.

I'll throw a prediction out there

Browns-10-special teams gives up the TD
Ravens-33

I sat Rice on my FF team, I'm sure that means he's going to bust out...

I agree its hard to fall for a trap game coming off a loss in the division. I'd even go so far as to say its impossible to have a trap game within a division. There are underdog losses but that has more to do with team familiarity then overlooking a team.

What the hell is up with the Brwons Injury Report.

No Delhomme, Harrison, Robeskie an Rogers and now it sounds like Cribbs will be out as well.

That takes care of all their best players, do they even have a team going against us?

Where did you hear that Josh Cribbs might be out? Ive looked all over and havent seen him listed as out. He is listed as probable every place I look.

I espect avictory today, but not an easy win. The Browns have pride too and they want to win.
As for the Pitt game next week, I think we'll win that too; unlike last year I think everyone thought we'd wipe the floor w/ their backup, we'veseen them win two this year. I think we'll play better because we have film on their backups.
