Kindle Expected To Sign Rookie Tender Monday

43 posts in this topic

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/19/sergio-kindle-will-sign-mandatory-rookie-tender-as-soon-as-monday/

Apparently Kindle is struggling with reaction timing and balance due to his dome injury. Ravens basically have done the most prudent thing possible with Kindle, they want him, but they want him if hes able to play, this way if hes able to play next year, Ill assume theyll resign him. For now hes in the meetings and on the sidelines learning the playbook and getting accustomed to the defense.

Football aside, I just hope he's able to have a full recovery and live a normal life. Sure, the kid's made mistakes in his past, but it's irresponsible for anyone to assume to know the circumstances of his accident and link that to his past transgressions. He's still a human being who has to provide for his child, so I hope that he's able to do so, whether it's in football or outside of it.

Agreed, but I want him playing football lol. Hes what we needed opposite of Suggs, and just when we finally get someone opposite him since AD for pass rushing, something utterly ridiculous and unforseen happens.

1 year tender? So that means he's a free agent after the season because then he doesn't have to re enter the draft? I know you couldn't of known but man that pick didn't work out.

Well if he can play the Ravens will just resign him, this is just insurance so that hes our property and no one else can touch him.

Good news. Like others have said, I hope he can fully recovery from the injury first and foremost. At this point, him playing football is a bonus.

Obviously but if he can play he will be a str8 fa and can sign anywhere he wants which if he turns out he can play the ravens could easily be out bid. The deal kinda sucks hopefully they sign him to a extenstion through the season if he can end up playing. It said in the article if he didn't sign he has to re enter next seasons draft.

My question is it the deal 1 and done or would he be like a RFA since it's his rookie tender?

He would be a RFA, theres no way he gets unrestricted status. Which is kind of what I tried to get at, didnt do a good job. Ravens would have first dibs to resign him/tender him.

Just out of curiosity, if Kindle didn't sign his tender and was redrafted, would the Ravens be compensated in any way?
No I believe not.

It's definitely a "step" in the right direction....

yes, i ll keep making stairs jokes.......

I think you need to grow up and not joke about this.
If you, a family member or friend went through this, you wouldn't find it so funny.
In fact it's in utter distaste and your post should be removed because you being negative in a very assuming judgmental way, and in no way should you be making a joke towards a Raven that could have died, and had a serious injury.
I suppose you feel big and strong posting that behind a computer, but if you were to say that in front of our team, a different reaction would take place.
Consider what you say, not just the fact you can say something so you say something insulting.
You think you're funny, well deal with the same injury.
Grow up, support your team.
This site isn't here to be your punchline.
Really, who do you think you are? Step in an NFL players shoes. Make your childish judgments, tell it to the players faces.
Are you a big man, posting childish jokes on the Ravens website to get a rise out of people?
Why don't you step up and try out for the Ravens?
Or tell it to Kindle, in his face?
Try it, please, have someone video tape it, I want to see you be the big man.
Otherwise, put your ego in check.

Easy there touchy Tom... He's making light of an otherwise bad situation and it was good for a chuckle.... Are we all supposed to sit around and not consider how we were somewhat screwed by our #1 pick? Although it was an accident, it was avoidable. Just like Plaxico shooting himself, he made the decision to bring a gun into a club that night.
Sergio, while "staying at a friends house" (which I am not confident is the total truth) knew that with his condition that he should be in familiar surroundings - something he neglected to care about that night, nor did he "remember" when he "awoke"
Now I am not saying that Plax and Sergio's issues are even close on to the same level, they are comprable in the sense that both could have been avoided. And what's to say something like this won't happen again with Sergio? I mean if it happened days after you are drafted (no, he wasn't celebrating or nothing that night huh?) whats to stop something like this from happening again? Does he need a babysitter to walk him to the bathroom at night?

Sergio's new crib better not have any stairs in it.

Eh, he's not spiting Kindle or adding insult to injury. As far as we know Kindle is doing fine with everyday routines so a harmless joke just lightens the mood about it, no need to be all serious about everything in life.

I think you're heading the wrong way with this. We crack jokes to help soften the blow. If you act too serious your argument falls flat. There's a drop-off. No need to talk smack

UPDATE:

apparently Kindle didnt sign yesterday because he wants a second opinion on his condition, which would greatly affect his potential earning.

I tried to tell Kindle it to his face but he fell asleep halfway through....

In all seriousness though, like other said, I was making light of a situation. If I ever see Kindle, I would probably joke with him about it. He's embarassed by it because he knows it was stupid.

But other than that, you need to take a chill pill. Are you chris crocker or something?

Also you need to stop acting like you are righteous and the number one fan, this is a discussion forum. We joke around, we debate, we say "What if".

And if you dont like it, IGNORE ME! I'm pretty sure its under settings. It was just a joke, relax............

Thats just funny.... the kid is going to screw himself out of anything that resembles a career in the NFL. He wants MORE MONEY to ride the pine?!?!?! The kid had it on easy street had he signed... 320k minus missed time to read a book, work out and study game film... instead, he's getting a second opinion in the hopes of gaining some sort of leverage in negotiations?

Ya I can only really wonder what another doctor will give him as a prognosis, and what he expects another doctor to say. Hes got to be kidding himself though if he thinks the Ravens are trying to screw him in anyway shape or form.

I'm not the only one make light jokes about our players injuries or how they happened. I think you need to relax.

If you do not like what I say, go up to settings, type in my name on the Ignore list. Trust me, it will make your life less stressful.

How am I Bengals or Steelers fan for making a lighthearted joke about Kindle's injury? Go over to the Bengals forums and see them making fun of pac man jones or go to the Steelers forums and see the jokes about Big Ben.

RELAX!

Okay I asked ravensinsider today if after his 1 year deal would he become a unrestricted fa to sign anywhere or what and this was his response to me..

@agmoney25 He would be an exclusive rights free agent. To keep him would just have to assign a tender offer.

So thats good atleast, If he can comeback all we do is have to tender him and we can go from there.

I have a growing feeling Kindle might not ever play a down in the NFL. What a shame too. Last I heard he had balance and sensitivity issues still. I'm hopeful he is ok but it doesn't look good.

Ya im beginning to lean that way as well. Which kinda pisses me off cuz now next year we'll have to use a top 2 round pick on the same position to backup JJ and come in on pass rush situations.
