how do you have that much talent and throw for less then 200 yards and throw 4 ints? id rather have him throw for 60 yards then try the stupid and idiotic passes he did today at half time i was hoping they would put bulger in that was an awful performance and its kinda embarassing that our defense hasnt given up a touchdown and our offense literally set up the bengals on every single 10 yard scoring drive i feel bad for every single player on defense

@Big Hits, no doubt about it. As I said, pass the blame around the offense, Cam too. The only bright spots was Heap, Mason, Rice, and our O line. Do you think that Flacco's problem is that Cam's plays are telling Flacco to throw to the new rcvrs, and he might not have his timing down with them yet?

Everyone is saying Flacco is gonna have a great game against the Browns, and he probably will, but he needs to play well against the elite teams also. By the way, Bulger is a better quarterback than Flacco right now with his experience and quick release. I am not saying he is the answer though. I have not given up on Joe yet. I was hoping this wouldn't be another building year for Joe.....

I apologise for getting of the main topic but from the posts it seems like alot of posters are ready to place blame soley on a QB that has taken us to 2 playoffs in his first two seasons instead of the facing the fact that we have two new recievers that have had good numbers for OTHER teams. I hope yall are bandwagoners from Wash and that you go back.

Look again, folks. The O line is to blame, too. Flacco had a bad day, not as accurate as he usually is. Receivers had trouble getting open and they should have called more running plays to set up play action. You can't win a game with four turnovers. Defense, again, lights out, but Cincy's defense got the turnovers.

Some things just take time to develope, so if you don't call the plays they will never develope real time game timing together. Growing pains suck, but when almost all of your receivers are new to the team you have this. As far as anyone saying when you have this type of talent and get less than 200 yards, look on the other side, TO and Chad with Carson Palmer. They had under 200 yars, I think they had like 13 more yards than us passing. Only good thing for them is no INTs, a BS tripping call and roughing the passer call on a man who had already left his feet before the ball was thrown.

Biggest problem was the offensive playcalling, Joe came in a close second. Cam ran when we should of passed and passed when we should of ran. What are we doing running all the receivers 15-20 yards down field on EVERY play? We needed way way more 5-10 yrd routes

Ravens offense should concentrate on timing routes and quick hits over the middle. Zorn does not appear to have helped Joe. The passing game needs to be used to augment the running game. Get things fixed for the Browns. It is a must win game.

Flacco did have a terrible game, but Cam Cameron didn't help him out at all. When we ran the ball we did it well, i though rice had a good game. Instead of pounding it to help open up the pass, we just kept passing, rice should have had 25 carries. But flacco just looked out of it, loooked nervous in the pocket, throwing off his back foot, not making good decisions, he just wasn't there. The OL did a decent job of protecting him, better than he made it seem. I like Joe, but im not going to take up for him after a performance like that. I still have his back and think he will be our QB for a long time, but if he keeps doing that, then he won't. And our Defense played Awesome. Can't ask thenm to play any better.

@JW376: 4 ints today shot us in the leg; for comparison only, the penguins lost their 2nd string qb to injury and still won the game; now Cam needs to realize that we need to run the ball as we are good at it and joe can't turn over night into a "manning like" with all the new guns we got; bulger might as he at least played in a big offense in his youth though

Sorry I'm am so tired of fans in Baltimore. I have lived here my whole life and they have always been this way. First Flacco has had a bad game the last two games. There is no excuse for his throws this game, last game his int was either the play design or the receiver in the inside breaking the wrong way because you had two receivers in the corner, which meant you had at least two defenders with them. You have a make shift line. It seems to me there aren't enough short routes across the middle being called when you have all of these physical WRs and TEs and don't use them for what they are designed for, but todays game either way was decided by two lousy penalty calls that ended up costing us 6 points. As far as his preseason, Flacco had a decent preseason with his weakest performance beeing against the Redskins with a 67.7 QB rating. The other two games he played in he had a 89.0 and 127.1 QB rating. Todays game was aweful, but these last two games have been against two of the best defenses in football with a weak offensive line. Flacco has been at fault but his performance isn't the only problem. Instead of finding the good thing in a bad game like a true fan would do, go ahead and b*tch, but please don't ever call yourself a Ravens fan again. Just in case you don't know what the good point was, we pretty much shut down an offense with two of the best WRs playing with one of the best QBs. Our secondary has been picked at all off-season and all they have done so far is play the game...
[/quote]
I really find it funny people are disliking this comment. Can't deal with facts I guess. Also remember Flacco has made it to the playoffs two years straight, one of them being his rookie year... Sounds like a bad QB to me...

@Rav Fan, great point. Everyone has a great game against the browns. Flacco needs to have a great game against the good teams. Manning and brady find ways to get it done, even against a great D like the Ravens. I have not given up on him, I am just pissede because I feel he has much more potential than what he's showed so far these last 2 weeks.
@JW367, shut yo face! I am from DC, and I love the Ravens. Flacco did not get us through 2 yrs of playoffs, it was our D and our running game. Don't get defensive at what I say, it's just facts. I am a guge Flacco fan, I just think he can play above this. we wil see, and i think he will rebound, no dount.

@NorthernVaRaven It's possible that his timing is off, especially with Housh because he got here late. I think that showed more in the Jets game though. I think the Bengals secondary played better. Joe did miss a lot of passes, he wasn't as aggressive with one on ones but he was with double coverage which is weird. Missing, I think Mase, wide open makes me think he's not comfortable enough to look for other receivers. Sort of like he knows who he's throwing the ball to before the play starts instead of looking for the open receiver. I also wonder if the coaches let him audible. I would think they would but on some plays maybe he just didn't read the coverage right instead of changing the play. I don't know, just a thought.

As I've been stating for the past couple of years,Flacco can make all the throws, however, his footwork and pocket awareness have been issues that he definitely needs to get better at.Im a huge Flacco fan,but this team is primed to win now.I say that to say if he (Flacco) doesnt get better in those areas in the next several weeks along with the play calling it might be a season once again of what could have been..Let me be the 1st fan to start the QB conterversy,If Flacco doesnt get it 2gether over the next 4weeks (condidering the bye-week)start warming up Marc Bulger,This isnt about hurtings ones psyche, its about winning NOW,Bulger has shown the ability to be lights outs when provided the proper TOOLS around him...I love you Joe Flacco, but Im just sayin.......Hmmmmmmmm.......Go Ravens, keep ya headz up D-Fense...Yall are in best damn D-fense in the land................

I may be reaching a lil bit... but can Joe's delusional play so far this year possibly be related to a certain new quarterback coach who's name starts with a Z? ie.- holding the ball tooo long, can't all of a sudden see wide open men downfield, & refusal to dump the ball off to the check down back?
I'm just saying.

( Note: Please refer to Jason Campbell's self-destruction of the Redskins last year.)

Remember Unitas (12 of 20 w/2 ints. 95 yards) in the 1964 Championship against Cleveland when the Baltimore Colts were shut out 27-0? Gimme a break. The Ravens will do just fine. Even a HOF Quarterback can have a bad game. With this defense I hope the offense PEAKS at just the right time. Just like in 2000.

It truly was more painfull in person. Just be glad most of you, didn't have to hear Who-Day, during the game. Walked away with a sunburn and glad that I didn't look like a traffic cone. Purple or die!!!!

@jellis...I here you dog. I believe Flacco flakes will get better, but benching him is not the answer. He is so more effective when we run the ball more. Hello! Rice, McGahee, McLain? we have an awesome running game, let's use is to set up the pass. We have the d, we have the running game, and we have the QB to send the ball down field. Let's play some Ravens football, we a touch of Flacco. get me?

I dont know what happened.... This is our supposed "high powered offense?"....

Last 2 seasons Flacco didnt have the weapons... this off season we hand him a whole damn army and this is how he plays?

Dont know if its maybe the new QB coach, i dont know what it is, its one thing to have a bad game.... but this was beyond bad.

Im at a loss of words, I love my ravens but flacco was embarrassing...

Also with his bad performance did anyone notice on the side lines Boldin isnt very happy with our QB either....

We need to fix the issues... and I mean fix them QUICK. Our D has had 2 games now with out giving up a defense... We hold teams, its been three years now Flacco should have NO excuse as to why he cant put up points, especially with boldin and housh.

As much as i would like to blame the two bad calls as the reason for this loss i cant and nobody else should even entertain that thought either. Its ignorant. Obviously we should have ran the ball more but when it comes down to it Cam isnt to blame nor is jim zorn. You guys have to stop pretending its never joes fault because he lost this one for us. Who knows, it may light a fire under him and be for the better.

I'm sorry and I LOVE the Ravens but Flacco is way over Rated!!! When's the last time he play HALF way decent???? He looks like a slug back there. He doesn't see open receivers, he misses the split second opportunities to make the pass. I relize that two bad clls cost us,but everybody includung the media was saying,"Now Baltimore is a Offensive threat. POO. If he can't step up next week I like to see Bulger!!!!

I love boldin, have his shirt, and think hes great for our team, but if his anger on the sidelines was towards joe then someone needs to let him know real quick that thats not how our receivers act on this team. No divas in baltimore

OK this is it. It was widely agreed that this season would tell the 'tale of the tape' for Flacco. He has all the weapons he needs and so far not good. He still lacks pocket awareness/mobility holds the ball too long and throws off his back foot. I'm not saying we should go with the 2 time pro-bowler Bulger just yet, but its time to start looking for the leash and it should be a short one.
