Devil

I am a huge fan of M. Night Shamalan. I think he is a brilliant film maker.
After a hugely disapointing "The Happening" (I dont even want to talk about "The Last Air Bender") I was worried that "devil" would continue his downward spiral.

Thankfully I was wrong. "devil" is every thing I had hoped for from Shamalan, and what I had come to expect from his creative mind.

Any one else here fans of him or seen the movie "devil" ?

I am a fan. I actually like the movie "The Happening". One of my favorite underrated movies is his "Lady in the Water". Great movie.

Haven't heard much about Devil yet. Probably won't get to watch it in theaters, but we'll see it when it comes out on DVD. However it is getting good reviews, might have to change my plans.

I own The Happening and Unbreakable. Lady in the Water was good as well. Shamalamadingdong wrote the story for Devil, but he didnt write the screenplay or direct it or it would probably suck.

Worst movie I have ever seen in my life was The Mist.

What? The one in the grocery store? Wow. I love that movie. The ending is one of the most disturbing I can think of. Theres definitely worse movies than that, dude.

I think I'll go watch it again right now. :P

I'm with Nurps.....wha??

The Mist is one of the most disturbing movies, ever. Keeps you on the edge of your feet and the ending is one of the worst(but in a good way, sort of) endings ever! You have to love this movie!

the Mist was great as a comedy tho. They all hide from the fog then venture out in it at the end, They all kill themselves except for the one guy and the fog clears up LOL!!!

Well according to the M.Night Shyamalan scale of chronological decline in quality (or MNSSoCDiQ) this movie should be about the worst film ever made... unless that is, the twist is that the movie is actually good.

Someone told me the plot twist because I refuse to see it, and I guessed it correctly. That said, I don't think the payoff is the plot twist so much as the actual movie itself.

That should be a mark of growth for Shyamalan; he's been so reliant on plot twists that, for him to have a predictable one and have that NOT be make-or-break for the movie, it's almost like the sky has fallen and pigs have grown wings.

That said, i still refuse to see it until it hits DVD and Blu-Ray.

no, the twist in Devil is not as huge as it was in Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. This one carries a bit more of a story.

The Mist? was that a Shamalan ?

No. story by Steven King, screenwritten and directed by the guy who did The Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile (both Steven King stories I believe).

Under the Dome wasn't too bad
Ah hem, so a review of "not too bad" equates to genius? Really Jon?

"Chile please," is what that gets.

Disagree completely, but to each his own.

Frankly I dont think the two can be compaired. They are pretty different by my observation.
King being more in the horror catagory, Night being more thriller or suspence.

His past work more than makes up for any mediocre books that have come out recently.

I'd even take "Maximum Overdrive" (an awful, awful movie directed by King) over "The Happening" (an even more awful movie directed by Shama-lama-ding-dong) any day

And yes, I am going to keep referring to him as that.

Stephen King was good when he wrote "The Shining."

Anything else gets this:

Let me just assure you that BloodRaven does not require an outside influence.
