Haha very well put.

Somebody better call the wahmbulance. At least now we'll (hopefully) never have to hear the word "Gunslinger" while watching football.

this is a sad sad day for any and all NFL fans alike....when i saw the "breaking news" bulletin flashing over the Screen on NFL network earlier this morning, i have to say..my heart Dropped a little because the League has now lost one of its true Players, and true Competitors.....may the future be bright for what lies ahead for Favre.

I doubt it. Unfortunately, that word appears to have creeped into the footbaling lexicon in it's own right, It'll still get tossed around from time to time.

It should be retired in memory of favre...

me personally always liked it when they made reference to Favre as the "gun slinger".....because to me it represents that "old school" style of play that Favre played the game with and really kept the old traditions alive and well...like the Wild west...."its gonna be a shootout" type deal.......hopefully there are more "gun slingers" out there just waiting to emerge and come into the NFL.

I think it was more of his fearless attitude. He'd throw the ball anywhere, triple coverage or not, if he thought he could make the throw. Made for some great plays, and some horrible interceptions.

nice way to put it....in no way, shape or form was Favre Ever "horrible" all he did was throw the ball up there..the rest was for the Reciever to do their job and catch it.

horrible interceptions.

What you guys don't realize is that Favre was being nice and throwing picks so less famous D-backs could say "I picked Brett Favre" to his grandkids. Unfortunately Favre was too generous and saying that you picked Favre is like saying you had sex with Brittney Spears. Sure its cool... if it happened 7 years ago.

If K-fed's done it, it's just not an acheivement anymore...

That sucks, I was hoping for him to come back for one more season, since the team was so talented.

Rumor has it he left because they didn't sign Moss, or any other good WR free agent.

I wouldn't believe that because their WR this year were really good. They were first in yards after catch.

Greg Jennings was pretty beastly all year.

yeah and Ryan Grant was incredible. talk about a diamond in the rough, they got him for the price of a sixth round pick! anyways Rogers has some BIG shoes to fill to say the least, but damn he's got some real fireworks to work with.

I can't believe he was drafted 2005, and hasn't even been given a chance to start until 2008.

I think Favre made the right decision here. Seriously, what is there left for him to accomplish and prove?

Also I'm sure he *had* to know as well as a lot of people that there is no way in hell his team would replicate their '07-'08 season this coming year.
