I love how we don't even try to go down field. What if we got in FG position, terrible clock management.

idk See Redskins and Cowboys turned out to be the turning point of that game

Coaches rarely attempt to move the ball with less than 20 seconds left; the risk is too great of a turnover and then allowing the other team to get the ball back in enemy territory for a quick score. Look at Tony Romo's shovel pass to Tashard Choice that was returned for a TD by DeAngelo Hall last week.

I don't mind losing, but playing like this, is just so discouraging.....
really..if the ravens were at least playing a good game but the bengals were just the better team thats fine..but the ravens arent even playing good football, it looks like they need training camp again

Lets all hope this is because of playing on Monday night and its a one week thing

Cam, please put the training wheels back on FLacco and don't let him lose this game for us. I would be happy with check downs to rice for the rest of the game.

Can't believe the Steelers are halfway to going 2-0 with backup QBs. Not trying to get OT, but not good for us.
Denis Dixon went down with a knee injury so things might be looking down for them. The only other qb on the roster is Batch.

Wow...

The passing game was putrid in the first half. Joe better figure it out in the second the offense might have to go run-exclusive.

It's just the nature of fanhood and reacting within the moment. The inherent nature of being a sports fan is to unintentionally be ignorant of the long-term and only look at things in the short-term. That's because of all of the emotion involved in the game.
Not sure who you are reffering to here; but there is a little more going on here than just being "ignorant of the long term vs short term." Flacco's progression into this year has not happened, he is playing just like he did in the pre-season, yes this only the 2nd game of the regular season but this is actually the 6th game of the 2010-2011 season and he continues to stare down his receivers and does not read his progression's. He missed Boldin on the streak cause he starred down Mason on the other side of the field, he starred Boldin down on the pick.

Long term, guess what it takes all the short term's to get to the long term and if he does not progress there will be no long term - there are no other excuses to make - he has Mason, Boldin, Housh, Heap and Rice to throw to - it's on him!!!

I can understand being sluggish after such a physical Monday Nighter, but Flacco is well below the line of sluggish....

sad to say boys I think somethings wrong with joe, that game off I think did something , it could have even been that first hit . either marc talks him up to playing better or he will put on the helm

keep your heads up ravens, we all know our boys always come harder in the second half, flacco needs to wake up and the receivers need to get open. it's all good though here come the ravens

If the Ravens can wake up and Flacco can find his game that he seems to have lost, the man is making horrible decisions and bad throw after bad throw..But, if he can turn it around in the 2nd half maybe we can win this game..1 TD and we take the lead just like last week..

dont get your hopes up, we just got whooped in all phases...I'm hoping the Ravens wake up

His playoffs record is 3-2, his numbers arent great, he was a rookie the first year he went and last year his whole leg was injured.
True his record is 3-2 but if you look at his performances:

59.0 rating against MIA in 08
89.4 rating against Tennessee in 08 (convinced a lot of fans, including me, that he was capable of being a franchise QB)
10.0 rating against NE in 09 (Ray Rice and the defense won that game)

Not especially dazzling performances, but he is a winner. Like any QB (excluding Manning and Brady) he needs a solid running game and solid defense to be successful. He is being provided with both this game but isn't doing anything with it.

everyone is stressing, and yea Joe is having a bad game... but you act like the game is over. its 6-0 at halftime... we always make good halftime adjustments. Everyone relax,

Optimism guys. This thread is so depressing, we all know Flacco is struggling but some of you act like this is curtain closing on the whole franchise.

We're down 1 possession and being a 3rd quarter team, I expect to come out with a bang.

Id never throw Flacco under the bus because he WILL be a good QB, but he looks undecisive, not relaxed and poised. We have 2 very good QB's in Flacco and Bulger, i wouldnt see how putting in Bulger for the day would hurt us anymore than we are now.. I think the veteran leadership could start the spark on our offense..Just IMO

Regardless of my pessimism I still think we can put it together and win. But man watching the halftime show, why does it seem every team has a gamebreaking player but the Ravens just have good-enough players?

What game off?

Joe doesn't look like the same confident QB from past years, I agree. I wish I knew what happened, I wonder if the coaches have noticed and what they think.

Flacco... Big arm, alot of hype, unsteady, bad foot work, looks nervous, bad reads, started as a rookie.... sounds like someone very familiar that QB'd in Baltimore... Hope he can be our Dilfer and not do I dare say it....Boller
