Anquan Boldin Is On The Verge Of Making History!
Sept. 15, 2010 3:35 p.m. - WR Anquan Boldin is on the verge of history. He’s played 96 games and with seven more receptions, he’ll have 600 catches. Former Colts star Marvin Harrison accomplished the feat the fastest in NFL history (102 games). Ravens RapidReports
I think it's pretty cool if he accomplishes this feat as a RAVEN. :18_1_301:

So he needs to rack up 7 catches in 5 games. Book it! Congrats Q.

Maybe we can convince Antonio Cromartie to cover him, again?
Bad idea; he won't make a catch, because he'll be held every play.

If he doesn't get the 7 catches this Sunday. I'm sure Harbs will make sure he gets his the next Sunday against the Browns. Through him a couple screen passes.

Yeah we want Q to actually catch the ball, not have Cromatrie showing man love all day.

Whoever was 'covering' Welker last week should do just fine, haha

How cooler would it be for him to accomplish this @ Pitt
Nah! The sooner the better, makes it harder to break. Fastest to 600 catches in 97 games is much better than 101.

Nah! Let's do it at home so we fans can give him the love he deserves.

Heap is also only 35 yards shy of 5,000 for his career. So if he doesn't play in this game, he'll probably do that at M&T Bank.

That record is as good as broken. Q showed why we went out and got him against the Jets. I agree with PuRock, I hope he gets these catches ASAP. The faster the better. I think we'll spread it around more against the Bengals but I expect it to take no longer than Wk 3 for him to get 7 catches. I expect Mason, Rice and Housh to get more catches this week but if Heap doesnt play for any reason he may get 7 this week.

Yeah they'd probably have to announce it over the loudspeaker like they did for Tony Gonzalez's record.

It MIGHT be harder then expected. YEARS down the road when ESPN is talking about sports history or it comes up on some quiz show, "Anquan Boldin was the fastest player to 600 catches in NFL history. WHO allowed catch number 600?" I'm pretty sure NO ONE wants to be THE PLAYER, that's the answer to that question. At catch 599 whatever team they're playing might put in the nacho vendor, or he'll probably start drawing flags left and right.

That's a guarantee record break for sure! Hopefully it can be done here in Baltimore, I would love to be there and be apart of that for him. Any one else heard anything about this so called " thigh injury " on Boldin? Supposedly it is really nothing to worry about, I got it from NFL.com. I'll repost what I copied from there. I din't see anything on the Ravens web site, but I also didn't really search that hard..

"Boldin (thigh) was listed as a limited participant at practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Analysis: We'll see how the Ravens officially list Boldin on Friday, but so far there is no indication that his Week 2 status is in jeopardy"

I think it would be awesome for him to get the record in Bmore. In fact, I think that is more likely since I assume coming off his Jets performance, he'll more likely get double teamed. Out of all our receivers, Boldin is the one that should command the most respect. I love talking about our offense now because if you cover Boldin tight, then expect Mason and T.J to have big days. In fact, the Bengals know what Boldin did against the Jets, they know Mason commands respect, and they know T.J. What are they going to do?
I think Rice will break a big one, or two this game. He's antsy after that Jets game.
As far as the injury to Boldin, I don't think it's anything to worry about. Apparently Ray Lewis was limited too, not to mention Heap. They will play, they are, as I said in another post, three of the toughest guys in the NFL, and they are vets, give them the rest. What do they need to practice?

Yeah you're probably right about Cincy giving ALOT of focus on Boldin, after coming off a 7 catch 100+ yard performance. So that will free up the others no doubt about that. It would be sweet to see TJ have a break out game as a Raven in Cincy, I expect Cam to work him into the real nice this week. Mase will come through as he always does, hope he is a target for our offense this week. It is a beautiful thing to be able to talk about all the options we can hope for, now with this much upgraded offense. Just imagine what it's going to be like once Stallworth gets back! I feel sorry for the defenses that have to prepare for our offense now a days!!

I was thinking the same thing today about Stallworth. What happens then? How are we going to pay everybody as well?
All I know is that once we get Stallworth back, we should also have back Reed, there is a chance Kindle could be playing, Cody could be back this Sunday. Gaither is a bit up in the air, but this team is only going to get better as time goes on. And once the new offense gels together we should be in peak form and ready for a dominate Super Bowl run.
The more I take it all in, and learn about what is really going on, the more excited I get.
This is real.

I have no clue on how they will spread that money around, but hopefully they will get the CBA all worked out first and foremost. If they do make a run for the superbowl and say they do happen to win that puppy, you never know Mase might just go on and retire. We all know he has been contemplating it, and if he gets that ring this year he might just make this his going out with a bang season. So they might be able to shed something right there. They are I would say probably like 3 games at the very most from clicking on all cylinders and just lighting up the opposing defense. I figure by then TJ should be on point with the playbook 100% and into a great rhythm with Joe. By then Dickson and Pitta should be alot more familiar with the league and have made some decent rookie adjustments and should play a huge factor as well. So yeah I going to take a stab and say 3 more games and by that 4th they will be on point. Just in time to go into the bye lol figures! It will be a great sight to finally see a potent Raven offense, I mean I don't know if it will ever compare to the Billick era offense. You know the offense that he would have a 5 wide set on the 2 yard line and it's 1st and goal lmao, you know you miss that Billick play calling!!

I have to agree with Mod 3 on this one. It would be absolutely sweet to see him break the record here, in the home opener against the Browns. That way we get a chance to rock the house when it happens and truly help him to celebrate the accomplishment. If it were to happen at Cincy, there would be some applause but it won't be as big a deal. I really hope it works out that he breaks the record at home! Ya feelin' me Harbs!

The other team probably doesn't even know. It's not like fastest to 600 catches is some big record. I can agree with you if it is like fastest to 1000. Or like Gonzalez career 1000th catch the other day.

It's one of those things where only the fans of the team might now. Hell if it is in another stadium, it probably won't even be announced.

Let's hope this doesn't turn into the ordeal with Matt Ryan and Gonzales. Trying to force the ball in there every play and always missing.
Ryan only has two reliable targets in White and Gonzo, which is why he has to force throws. Joe, on the other hand, has five.

I was referring to how Ryan was tryin to get Tony his 1000th reception this apst week, and at the end of last season. He kept trying to force the ball in there so he could get the 1000th catch. Kind of like A-Rod's HR slump once he hit 599. But with 700 catches its definitely not as big of a deal as 1000, but you know he still wants that record.
