I think it's actually more difficult to pick a team, to straight up win, as opposed to picking against a spread.
Since I'm a week behind I'm going straight up ballsy.
I'm banking on 4 picks that are bonkers.

lol not a bad strategy if trying to catch up. There are always upsets every week, if you can only find them.

Against the spread is supposed to be 50-50. Meanwhile if you pick all favorites you're likely to get around 11-5 for a full week.

By the way, I guess no one likes Arizona over Atlanta?

It's sunday, that means it's time to take a look at this week's picks:

The home teams are favored over the away teams, 11-5.

This week's toss-up picks are Kansas City/Cleveland, Carolina/Tampa Bay, Denver/Seattle, Oakland/St. Louis, and New England/New York.

Good luck everyone.

Well I guess 5 games right isn't too bad to start off. At least I my first upset pick right... Bears over Cowboys!!

haha 90% picked the Cowboys to win... and the 10% who picked the Bears were correct!

see.....i told you guys to pick the steelers

We talked about this pick.
I actually had the Steelers, but changed it late, because I listen to too much talk whether it's tv or radio, they have no idea what they are talking about.
Just need to trust your gut.

The Steelers have done very well so far, the defense looks good, almost as good as the Ravens!

8-6 for the week. 18-12 total.

I've got the Colts over the Giants. I just can't see Eli besting Peyton on primetime this early in the season.

Saints over 49ers. Just cuz...

I have 8 points this week, got the Bears over Cowboys right. Knew I should have changed to Philly from Detroit but I figured The Lions defense would have kept Vick in check.

I can finish 10-6 again this week if the Giants win and the Saints win tomorrow night.

Darklight the pick you made against the Ravens really separated you from the group. Good call, but how do you live with yourself. ;)

Provided the Saints win tonight, I should go 11-5 this week. Currently in 11th place. Had I gotten signed up in time I'd have also won, rather than lost that Thursday night game that I was unable to pick. <_<

Ugh.... I'll be 9-7 if the Saints win tonight and that means I would have decreased from 10-6 at Week 1 and 9-7 in Week 2. I'm going to need a good week next week and get at least 10 wins to keep up with everyone.

Lol, I just didn't have a good feeling about it... not with the Ravens record in Cincy and the offensive performance in NY.

At the end of week two, here's what the first rankings of the season looks like:

The last column tells you the change in your position from last week.

Congratulations to Darklight for holding the first number one spot of the season. Romo Ravens, Mkdave23, Tre, FlaccoFlicker, and PurpleNurple are on the bubble to crack the Top 20 next week.

I started a week late, I don't see there being a way to catch up, especially when I'm going to have to rely on upsets to actually move up, but if I'm wrong, that gamble will hurt me even more, hence going 9-7 for week 2. Even though I did make some crazy picks that paid off.
Basically, if I pick who I think is going to win, just like everyone else, I won't make it anywhere, we'll all just advance at a similar pace. It's a tough place to be, but to have to almost rely on upsets, or picking teams that 90% of people wouldn't pick, actually makes it even more fun and interesting.
