Who Is Going To Break Out Next Season?

80 posts in this topic

I think our offense will be way better than it was last season. I can't wait till next season.

there should have been no reason for our crappy Offense last year. brian played things to safe. to conservative. He played to milk the clock not to put points up. We should have had a more agreesive passing attack with the no huddle and 4 wr sets

clayton, heap, mason and williams. keep lining heap up over tackles every single play he is gonna cointinue to get injured.

you stretch the field with a solid passing attack take bits and chunks and the line up in spread and pound the ball than the I and play action the shotgun draw and ect ect..he was to predictable with the play calling. my grandmother was calling the next plays in the game b4 thanks giving. and it was so balanced run pass that all you had to do was keep track of how many runs there were to tell when he was gonna pass vice versa.

with all our talent on offense i expect cameron to have an explosive unit this year

remember the last year when he was cordinator for the chargers how explosive that offense was. he left and the new coaches never really got ladian or philips/gates goin. cameron was the reason for all that. the reason for his td record his half back passes the whole bang a bang.

same type of team in the ravens...heap-gates LT- McGahee better wr's here than there..decent qb in mcnair-phillips mcClain big physical FB-neil plus we have hybrid weapons like wilcox wr/TE and sypnewski and musa-turner

im excited i think we're gonna shock the world this year

I hope to see Yamon Figurs inserted more on offense. His blazing speed will stretch the defense and open up the middle for the likes of HEEEEEEAAAPPP, Mason, Clayton, and Williams... On defense, I like Antwan Barnes to continue to improve and continue to sack QBs.

i think our entire Offense will be re-energized and really come to its true form of what we've all been looking for in this Raven Offense that has long since sputtered for th most part and never really taken full flight and remained in the air......with Cam, seeing how he's had the kind of offensive Success with ALL the offenses he's come across and been a part of. i think this offense will be no different, though the Changes may not be Immediate as many of us would like or hope they would with the hang over "lasting effect" of performing well. BUT there is absolutely no dounbt in my mind that this team and its offense will in fact, get to where it wants to be at and needs to be at.

Barnes really impressed me during the Pats game. His future is going to be bright while with the Ravens.

He also destroyed Joe Thomas when we played the Browns. He was responsible for at least one interception in that game because he forced Anderson to get rid of the ball early. If we give him some serious playing time this season i think he could easily reach double digit sacks.

ahh yes i remember that.....most defenders dont get the credit they actually deserve because their valient efforts are Too often, overshadowed by the Big Name Players on any given team. its the small things during a game that have the bigest impact....take what you said about Barnes during that particular play for instance.....he was able to break free of the Offensive lineman and get after the quarterback, in which forces the quarterback to make alot quicker decision than they are comfortable with. but like i said their efforts are often overshadowed by the bigger type players.

Same here. I really think he needs to get more playing time next season. Also, he is pretty fast for a LB.

i'm gonna go with the offensive line

Yea, I think this season they can all possibly have a good season. I really want to see Gaither tear it up when ever he gets the chance to start full time. The guys huge almost like Ogden, but I want to know if he can play almost like Ogden.

Yeah, I thought he would tear it up this year, especially after he put that pancake block on Suggs on the first day of training camp.

lol

Well if JO retires then I'd like to see Gaither start at LT. The guys got a lot of potential.

Still not sure if I want JO to retire.

You want your future HOFers to go out on a high, and he went to the pro bowl last season (deserved or not). Plus then We might even draft Jake long (<< beast!)

Yea, I'd like to see JO go out with another ring this season. :D

You think Long will fall all the way to us at number 8? If he does great!

I can hope...

and there's no team ahead of us with left tackle as their primary need (except from KC), so it could happen.

Carl Peterson vowed to fix the offensive line. I honestly think he goes to either Atlanta or Kansas City.

If our corners stay healthy, I think Reed and Landry will put up some good numbers for safety. As far as Offense I hope to see D.Williams and McGahee have a break out year.

he did

McGahee is the perfect back for our team. His character and his toughness is what sets him apart from the others.

He brings that Miami hardcore im not gonna stop swinging till either you fall or i fall mentality and he FIGHTS everyplay.

With a passing attack and an offense that can put points on the board, with our D that means most teams will be behind. Mcgahee can touch the ball more in the 4th and really open up against a tired 4th quarter opponent. Then you wanna talk about a breakout year. If he was 4th in rushing last year when we were always behind and had to pass more image where he'll be this year pounding the ball in the late game to kill the clock.

Yea he got all those yards on his own I still can't believe he wasn't originally going to the pro-bowl. Come one other RB's have people to block they're not breaking 2-3 tackles in the backfield almost every down theeeeen gaining yards. Ha and as for those saying Ed Reed will have a break out year? What exactly do you mean by that? Is he gonna learn to fly in the off-season? Or maybe drink some invisible juice? I think he's the best in the business. For him to have a "break-out year'' I dunno man--he'd have to do cartwheels on his way to the house after each int. Maybe some backflips? I'll go ahead n vote him to the pro bowl I just dunno how to consider him to have a "break-out year" He's way too money to be eligible.

learn how to fly? who do you think taught superman?

Break out year is the wrong term but right idea

he meant a STAND-OUT-GET-TALKED-ABOUT-ON-EVERY-ESPN-CHANNEL-MORE-THAN-USUAL 16 intercepetion year.

Ed reed doesnt even have to play next year and he'll still start the pro bowl 1st team.

Who is going to break out next season? It depends on a lot of things. When you say breakout season, it means someone who hasn't already and excludes people like McGahee.

Honestly no one will break out on offense if there is no protection like last season (and that is what i believe will happen again next season), the only person who could break out is McGahee and he has already done so.

So assuming there is protection next season (meaning we draft an OT and C or our current players somehow step up), Mark Clayton should break out. He is a speedy reciever and imo really is a 1st round WR. He just never got the opportunities in the Fassel offense that we have always been running, and when there were opportunities -he never had the chance to complete his route because the QB was getting sacked, hurried, force fumbled etc after 0.1 seconds. Next is Steve McNair, because he can still produce IF he is protected like the 13-3 season. Next, OL players like Grubbs, but again IMO any of these players breaking out all depends on the performance of the OL as a whole next year.

On Defense, pretty much everyone has already broken out, i don't think we have any players on defense who aren't pro bowl caliber. I don't see Johnson ever breaking out. I think Barnes will breakout next season if he is put at OLB, i think Burgess has an opportunity but i haven't seen him really play on the Ravens yet. Dawan Landry could've broken out his rookie season or maybe his best is yet to come.

A lot of people are talking about troy and McNair but are dismissing kyle which could be a big mistake out of all of our quarterbacks Kyle is the only one who has shown the potential to be a top five quarterback and a lot of people put blame on kyle without looking at what he had around him to work with when he was starting and system that he had to play in which was very dink and dunk. If you put Kyle in a system that allows him to throw lasers deep curls. quick slants, 15 to 20 yard in and out routes, 20 yard comebacks, and Deep post routes. Kyle has the arm and mentality of a gunslinger he just needs a coach (Cam Cameron) that allows him to do that. He could be a serious dark horse fans don't dismiss him.

Who do you guys think is going to break out next season for us?

I think Williams is really gonna break out next year. Landry is already good but I think he's going to establish him self as an all pro caliber player. Todd Heap will reestablish himself as one of the best TE's in the league and I think a QB of the future will emerge next year. I also look for Jarret Johnson and Antwaan Barnes to break out next year.
