No. There is absolutely no excuse for running back into your own end zone on a punt return. He should have let the ball bounce, or caught it and ran forward. When I saw him cutting over and back, I was saying "no, no, no" the entire time. If he would have somehow broken free and gotten more yardage out of it, I would still say that it was a stupid decision. You NEVER do that. NEVER.

Dropped Cantwell for Gardner, then waived Gardner and signed Cantwell again.

Waived Miller for McCann and now they signed Miller and let go of McCann.

What's with all the flip-flopping?

He could turn into Eron Riley 2.0. He makes one good punt return in a preseason game and people are calling for him all the time.

He might, he might get a shot. The Ravens will be very hesitant with putting an undrafted rookie back there to return kicks. All it takes is one fumble for us to lose a game.

Zibby proved he could catch a punt in traffic. He didn't have any good returns because he was playing a beast of a special teams. I still think Zibby will get more chances. This was only game 1.

Miller will get a shot when all else fails. But don't hold your breath.

Miller knows the system and I was shocked when we let go Miller for McCann. Im happy because I liked Miller alot thru out TC and PS. Although under sized he plays with alot of heart.

I was watching the game with my buddy (a Giants fan). After Zibby's excursion into our end zone, I told him that we just cut Miller who was returning punts for us and signed McCann who wasn't even active. I said that I didn't understand why this was done. Glad to see Ozzie agrees with me. :D

I firmly believe McCann would have been the starting punt returner had he not been so lackluster in practice in his brief time here.

That's saying a lot. I hope you're right but a big return in the pre-season aside, he hasn't really stood out.

That's some large shoes to feel. I love Lewis and Sams. Lewis is a superbowl hero for us! Miller is a guy that is teetering around practice squads, undrafted, and hasn't done anything in an NFL game yet.

Frankly the only think McCann had going for him over Miller was better size. Other than that Miller showed he has skills returning punts and knows the defense so he can step in midgame in case of injury.

The only thing I don't like is we clearly resigned him to return punts after what happened with Zibby. So someone else will have to be inactive for the games now. McCann was inactive week 1. Several big name players were already inactive week 1 due to injures (Gaither, Cody, Kruger) so now we'll basically have a return specialist taking up one more spot.

Don't get too comfortable with Miller being on the team. After week two Williams' suspension will be over. During the suspension he doesn't count againts the 53 man roster so someone will need to be released to make room. We are so talented everywhere I just don't see how a rookie free agent punt return specialist isn't the odd man out when that happens.

I keep forgetting that we get Cary back after this weekend. I think if Miller shows up strong on ST then they might bump someone else off the roster.

If only Zibi had 1 more block..he could of broke it..
Yeah, he would have made it to our 3 yard line instead of our 1 foot line.
They were bearing down pretty hard!
