Sceraios? Trades?

I dont think the scenario is realistic at all. Sure that would be great for us but none of those teams stand to gain anything significant by making such a deal. I dont think you can pass on any impact player to pick up a bunch of has beens or could have been type players. At least that wouldnt sit well with their fan base.

draft isnt until the end of apirl its still early march im jus throwin some logical sceneraios out there to get some ideas goin and topics started

this draft is one of the better drafts in a long tim and with ravens sitting 8 there are so many possibilities that could play out

i wouldnt be opposed trading future picks for current picks.

most likely atlanta will make a trade with hall, with that in mind...but first lets look at

Alantas major needs:

1.QB

2.Nose Tackle

3.Middle Line Backer

4.Offensive Tackle

5. Wide Receiver

6. Defensive End

7.Running Back

8.Tight End

top 5 likely draft selections for their 3rd overall pick:

1.QB-Matt Ryan

2.NT-Glen Dorsey

3.OT-j.Long/Clady

4.DE-C.Long

5.WR-DeSean Jackson

ok now with those players lets look at equal value that the ravens could potentially offer as trade bait

QB-Boller? maybe they can find hidden potential in boller as a back up.

DT-Dwan Edwards, Justin Bannan, Kelly Gregg

LB-Bart Scott, Mike Smith

OT-Adam Terry, Chris Chester

WR-darling, moore

DE-Gary Stills, Jarret Johnson

RB-Musa Smith, Justin Green

TE-Sypniewski

CB-Rolle

From this list only a few names that pop out at me but..dont underestimate the power in numbers

TRADE:

Atlantas 1st rd. pick(3rd overall) + D.Hall for:

Baltimores 2nd rd. pick (38th overall) + Adam Terry(OT), Dwan Edwards (DT), Gary Stills (LB)+ Samari Rolle(CB)

or

Atlantas 1st rd. pick (3rd) overall) + D.Hall for:

Baltimores 1st rd. Pick in 09 + 2nd Rd. pick (38th overal) 08' +Samari Rolle + Adam Terry or Dwan Edwards

They would be addressing their top 3/4 of their top 5 needs plus receive a 2nd rd pick and or future 1st rd. and replacing their starting corner with our starting corner. Might i add a Ravens Starting Corner..

which would leave us sitting with the 3rd and 8th slections in this years draft

3rd jake long 8th vernon gholston

if that happened we could potentially make another move at miamis 1 st pick for our 8 pick and something else..parcells is looking to trade out of number 1 anyway or instead of offering a deal like this to atlanta maybe try reaching out to the dolphins

It's not as simple as they are adressing their needs... with crappy players. Why don't we just trade them the rights to Rex Ryan's ham sandwich? I don't wanna give up a future first rounder for Vernon Gholston. If George Selvie comes out next year and we give him up for Vernon Gholston and Jake Long, I'll be peeved.

All the player i mentioned in the trades can start for a lot of teams and are all young and very talented. gary stills deserves a starting role somewhere other than special teams dwan edwards is gonna be a hands down starting tackle somewhere else adam terry is a 6'8 tackle with improving skill and has started already in this league

all these players would be better than any 1 pick atlanta could hope to get in the 1st not to mention relief us of some much needed cap space to sign free agents like walker or johnson still in the market

 You really believe that Adam Terry would be better than Jake Long? Glenn Dorsey than Dwan Edwards? Gary Stills better than Darren McFadden?

NOOOOOOOOOOO

but i think gary stills + edwards + adam terry

is better than just drafting jake long

stills+terry+edwards

is better than just drafting glenn dorsey

3 for 1? how do not agree with that

atlanta can only draft 1 player with the 3rd pick.........

I've got a better idea! We'll take Keith Brooking, Joey Harrington and Tyson Clabo for the 8th overall pick.

I mean, Keith Brooking is old, and Joey Harrington and Clabo aren't very good but 3 for 1 right!

your insinuating that Adam Terry is a bum? Dwan Edwards is a bum? Samari rolle is a bum? Gary stills is a bum?

Bart Scott is a bum? kelly gregg is a bum?

all of these players all could be pro bowlers if given the chance

this team is rebuilding...we're trying to rebuild, so if that means giving them pieces to the future that we are gonna use to give us a chance at getting even better uprgades for other positions then we should do it.

you obviously dont know anything about the players on this team. which is sad.

if anything they would be getting more from this deal than balitimore

you obviously dont realize how good dwan edwards is and how good terry is gonna be or you would be eating your words right now. just bcuz madden has them rated low doesnt mean thats how they play in real life.

Dwan edwards is a beast and we're lucky to even have him on our team.

the only reason edwards doesnt start is bcuz we have ngata and gregg and there is no one currently in the nfl i would want to start over either of them. thats why you dont here much about edwards cuz these to out shine everyone

let me try to put it in perspective for you

it would be like trading elton brand, gilbert arenas, yao ming and a 1st round pick to the lakers for kobe.

that would be crazy to trade kobe right? but lets say kobe is on a team with john doe, joe smith, and the entire knicks roster. still sound crazy?

ANYBODY HERE WANT TO CONTINUE TO PLAY THIS SCENARIO OUT WITH ME THAT ACTUALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT????

uh, not really. You're not so great at these analogies.

Arenas, Brand and Yao can all carry franchises on their back. Not that Scott, Stills and Edwards aren't contributors, but this isn't basketball, and one man can't get it all done. And even if they could; they wouldn't be the guys to do it. Only one is a starter.

Marcus Stroud, one of the most solid DTs in the NFL got traded for a 3rd and a 5th round draft pick. So I guess that means mediocre Tackle, Mediocre DT and Special Teams Player = Number 3 overall?

I can't believe you would even think about trading Kelly Gregg or to a lesser degree, Bart Scott.

Please explain your math and go submit your resume to the Oakland Raiders office.

once agains the same people are taking what i say and twist it all around. Your missing the point!!

Kelly gregg for the chance to draft chris long? yeah i would trade gregg..bart scott is a free agent next year and will likely land a big contract elsewhere so why we still have leverage to trade i wouldnt be opposed to that either and drafting vernon gholston to replace him

Atlanta needs good players, its gonna take them several years to rebuild with the draft....we have good players that we can offer them NOW!! The point i was making with the analogie wasnt that one player yet a lone three will carry a franchise, the point was not wanting good players on your team..(arenas, brand, yao) just because you have the chance to get 1 really good player isnt a good enough excuse.

And if you guys really think that edwards and stills arent GREAT players you dont know football. Just because you never seen them play on sunday for more than several plays doesnt mean they suck.

Doesnt matter if you have the best player in the league lebron james if you dont have a solid "team" your not gonna win. Thats why lebron didnt win the ship last year and which is also why they brough in the players they did this year.

San antonio won with not great players not allstars but with a team full of good solid players.

Who said they suck?

I can't beleive you can say that I was twisting your words then turn around and say that!

I specifically said they were contributors. I'm fully aware of Gary Stills' prowess as a gunner and special teamer. Dwan Edwards I kind of disagree, I don't think he's "GREAT". He's no better than average. I'm huge Bart Scott fan, God knows I love a bit of smack talk. I love Kelly Gregg too, no one works harder for the team.

Adam Terry? Not fantastic at this point but still learning.

anyway, my point is, teams aren't going to take a bunch of decent players If it means they lose their shot at drafting a hall of famer.
