Randy Moss, Ray Lewis Scenario?

21 posts in this topic

If Ray asked Moss to come into Baltimore to help us win a superbowl do you think he would be interested?

Heres my scenario:

Ray restructures his 2008 contract to minimum base salary $750,000 and receives a 9 mill signing bonus with another 2 /3year extension which would lower his cap by a ton and use that money to give moss that big contract he wants of 8-10 mil per year. And maybe an additional bonus we could reel in daunte culpepper(relatively cheap) as a back up to McNair or vice versa? release boller and groom troy?

we wouldn't need coulpepper

But moss might take a pay cut if we sign culpepper.

I think moss will resign with the pats today anyway

I really hope not. I was looking to the pats downfall this season.

That makes two of us.

I think exactly the same like you, but the pats won't let this happen i guess

With moss openly and obviously testing the market he is gonna get a huge offer from someone. Will the pats be willing to match that when they could have easily placed the franchise tag on him and chose not to have even handicap themselves? i mean its 3 days into free agency and the pats havent locked up this guy yet. Why not take care of your best offensive player on the team when you have the chance. now they have to risk paying a lot more than b4 he hit the market.

And one thing that gets over looked...this is moss first time on the free agency market. Dont you think he is gonna wanna cash in or at least see what other teams view his value as? The pats screwed up. Why would moss even mention culpepper when him and brady set and shattered records together?? Something is going on behind the scenes that the media doesnt know about and quite frankly i dont think its in the pats favor.

yeah, moss still could be upset about somethng that happened at the superbowl.

really nice thought

yeah lets not forget that the greatest WR ever to play the game only had 5 passes thrown for 62 yards....

he scored a td but considering he averaged alomst 2 per game during the regular season.....

how do you think he took being under used?

think about how a wr with swagger and confidence would impact our locker room. i dont think in all of our years we have had that type of player that assures the rest of the team when he is on the field big things are gonna happen offensively. Can you image Ray and his D and how pumped they would be to see a guy like this showing a different attitude towrads offense in the locker room. i mean look how sharp impacted the superbowl Defense and look how McGahee kept ray and reed on their toes. Imagine what a play like moss jumping over 3 defenders grabbing a one hander toe tap in the endzone would do...How do u think ray would react to plays like that?

I don't see it happening... I am just wondering why people are thinking the Pats will all of a sudden start spiraling downward if Moss left. Last I checked, the Pats won 3 Super Bowls WITHOUT Moss... but yeah, I would love to see Moss in the purple and black, but it won't happen =(

and when they won their superbowls, they didn't lose their starting corners (and possibly free safety), none of their starting linebackers or strong safety could claim pensions, ands they didn't lose their 2 starting receivers.

For one the pats would have no one to throw the ball 2 doesnt matter how good brady is if no one can get open to catch the ball how are they gonna score. All of the years brady won a superbowl he has a receiver he could trust, givens, Superbowl MVP deon BRanch, stall worth, welker, moss....only guy left is welker and all teams have to do is push him around with the double team

Pats relied heavily on their passing last year. Take the passing game away the pats are nothing more than a better KC chiefs team. Their offense was their deffense and with samuels going to the eagles gay going to the saints and their 1 foot in the grave linebacking group/old timer safties the pats are no more. And i think they lost one of the starting guards?

Moss was the entire reason the patrtiots became the best offense ever and if you wanna play out the "pats won with out moss" scenario lets look at it from both sides pats didnt have moss those 3 years how come they werent the best offense of all time then? welker and stallworth really that big of a factor that with out them they couldnt have put up huge records in the past? Moss made it all happen..the run..the triple coverage...the tru meaning of game changer.

Moss not coming back to the patriots this year will knock them out of any talks of being the best afc team
