128.7 passer rating is not a C.
Neither is 3 TDs, zero turnovers, 70.9% completion rate, completions to 6 different receivers, and averaging 11.9 yards per completion against a Browns defense that was ranked 8th against the pass heading into the game.

Just my opinion

But some of the drives that ended early were really ugly...short passes...etc

On second thought id be willing to do a C+
Let's ask this question what would it take for Joe and an A?

400 passing yards, 100% completion rating, 5 TDs, no INTs?

I'd say an "A". He led us to a comeback win against a pretty good Browns secondary with great numbers on the day. The only reason it isn't an "A+" is because in the end, it's still the Browns.

A's don't get given out based on stats...as I've said numerous times...stats are severely misleading..

Id be more inclined to give Joe an A for a cold December game in Pittsburgh where he throws for 1 TD and 2 int but managed to get a win and looked capable more then a 3 TD game against the browns in which there was a point we were down in the 4th.

Sorry

And why is it every team we face has either a "good" or "improved" defense...more excuses...its the browns...Flacco should of put up similar numbers

Because every team the Ravens have played this year either has a good or improved D. LOL! I'm not sure why to you, an opposing team making plays to stop the Ravens is an "excuse" but this is football and defensive players get paid too.

Cleveland's secondary was decent at times but Joe found the mismatches and made some quality throws under pressure when the team needed him to as well.

Cleveland lost its previous 2 games to "below average" teams

But when we go against them there the steel curtain defense right ? Lol
Whatever dude. Joe played well today. Affixing whatever letter grade you want to his performance won't change the impact of what he did today.

At this rate when we play the Buffalo Bills we're going to be hearing about the great young defenders they have and how scary and improved they are on defense ..

Just stop it

It was the Browns..just look at their previous 2 games

What does what they've done the two previous games have to do with today? They obviously elevated their game today and it showed.

People will never be satisfied. Every game is important. Glad to see Joe and Q having fun. That's what we need!

Duh it wasn't an "A game", but it was an "A" performance by Flacco. I'm not sure what criticism is bringing his grade down, but a man with a 128.7 passer rating who led his team from behind to victory is deserving of an "A". I can understand the game receiving a "C", but not Flacco himself.

So the Ravens are just so special that the browns decided to "elevate" their game today...not the first two weeks against sub par teams but against our superbowl contending team right...okay if u say so

I'd elevate my game for a Super Bowl contending division rival to keep from falling to 0-3 100% of the time. A win for the Browns today would've have been a big confidence boost to give their season some hope.

When did I use the word special? Hmm? When it comes to divisional games, inferior teams usually elevate their level of play. Is that such a far out suggestion? Honestly dude, it's like you're just trying to be cynical.

What's more likely, a team raising it's game against a seemingly weaker opponent or coming out flat? Like someone else said on another thread, we saw the Browns elevate their game against the Steelers last year in a prime-time game when the Steelers were supposedly going to make play-off push.

Flacco got an A. He looked a whole lot smoother than he did in the past 2 games even when Browns had pressure in his face. He stepped into his throws which made him VERY accurate today. That's what was killing Joe the past 2 games. Staying calm under pressure and not stepping into the throws even when he knew he was going to be hit. He was also getting rid of the ball a lot quicker when he needed to.

I hope he does that against Pitt. He is obviously comfortable with Boldin. He knows Mason. He seems very comfortable with Heap over the middle just as much as he is with Boldin. Don't be afraid to take the hit when you step into your throws, Joe. Chances are you will deliver it perfectly to your receiver. If not, you might get lucky with a roughing the passer penalty and move the chains.

I hope to God he brings these mechanics and fundamentals he used today, over to Pitt next week.

Considering how this week wasn't even comparable to last week, at least a B+. He looks so much more comfortable today, except for that first pass he made that almost got picked. That was really the only questionable throw I saw him make today.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Joe Flacco put together an A-performance..

:34853_shakehead:

People cannot give credit where credit is due. Joe Flacco (and the offense, in general) made very few mistakes, today, almost none; the ones he did make were overshadowed, by far, by his excellent presence, poise, and accuracy.

Sorry, in reality, he had a great game.

Didn't see the game, unfortunately, just listened a bit here and there. Seems to be an "A"-worthy performance. Glad to give him a grade like that finally. Since i couldn't watch I'll leave the minuses and pluses out of it and just with a simple "A". Wish we could have put up more points, but the Browns have been playing people tough so far, and we're no exception.

,
Now your just dragging. We all know your hatred for Flacco, but it's kind of hard to give him a C. No INTs, 3 TDs. Your grading privileges have been revoked.
I second that

Flacco played for great. And I like the chemistry he has with Boldin (3 Freakin touchdowns!! should of been 4). I like the improvement on the offensive game plan by Cam and Joe did a good job executing it.

However, it's the Browns. Let's see how he does in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah the Bills are actually really good in pass protection with a very good young secondary. If Flacco puts up good numbers on the Bills, I would be very impressed. We should just run over them though.

Obviously, great game , exactly what this offense needed after last week, and now heading into pittsburgh. If we want to knitpick, i'll point out that there were several plays that joe locked in on his primary reciever.Other than that what else can be said? He made some more terrific throws this week; i love his ability to put last week's nightmare behind him and go out there today and take some chances and make some great throws. If nothing else, the kid has balls. Now, the real test is coming this weekend. This game against pittsburgh is going to be a pivotal point in this season for joe.
