Cincy Is Next!

The only thing we have to worry about with them is that TOcho are veterans. They know how to draw some PI calls. But hopefully Webb will be there to be able to sub in a little bit, and Wilson will be a little more up to speed. If we can get a nice rotation going, and keep our boys fresh, we won't have to worry about them falling behind and grabbing onto the receivers as much.

I see this as a Very BIG GAME. Keys must stop Benson and get to Palmer. Our WR's & TE's will find holes in their D. Rice will have a good day.

The bengals are a ticking timebomb, i just hope the ravens are the ones who could set it off this week.

If we can lock down TO our chances will greatly increase just because he will likely cause an implosion

We won't stop Benson if we do that rush 3, drop 8 deep into coverage we did against the Jets on Monday. Plus, that will give Palmer too much time. We're going to have to play Raven football. Control the line, bring the pressure. Do that and we should be fine.

Our offense should have an easier time against the Bengals. Looking for a quicker tempo game this week.

Mattison won't employ that same strategy against the Bengals. We'll see a lot more four-man fronts and definitely more blitzing.

What I loved about the win against the Jets was our mentality. We had a disastrous start yet we pulled it back together in an explosive atmosphere and won tough.

I think we have a belief now that we lacked last year and I get the feeling that this team expects (with no complacency) to win every game.

Everything is in place with our systems and our strategy and tactics. Our coaching staff and players are now firmly on the same page with a new insight into how to win be it pretty or dirty.

Too early to call? Maybe. But I'm a fan and an optimist (and a realist) and I think we will beat the Bengals; possibly quite comfortably :)

Im not ready to think that this will be any kind of a break for the Ravens. The Browns are not a team to be taken lightly. Im not saying they are anything great, but they do have some good talent over there.

Even though we stomped the Browns in game 1. You can never discount a divisional game I agree. Just ask the Steelers last year. Or San Fran when they played the Hawks this year.

No matter how much a difference on paper it may be. Teams in division know each other better than anybody and they play tough.

With all that being said, I'd be extremely disappointed if we did lose to the Browns.

Only the second game of the year, but has massive implications. I admit I'm concerned about it, but cautiously optimistic. We showed a lot of heart and guts on Monday. Our secondary will be severely tested, but again, I think we're better than people give us credit for. Get Lil Ray more yardage, get the slot receiver involved, and clamp down on Benson. TO will be a challenge to match up with, hopefully he drops a few.

Yeah, this is a game where the season isn't necessarily on the line, but it certainly will have long-term implications on the Ravens season if they cannot maintain a steady lead in the division.

This game is more like Ravens offense vs Bengals offense. If Flacco puts up some points on the board early and maintains the lead, we will beat the Bengals. We have all the weapons we need for Flacco. I'm confident that Flacco will step up his game. The Jets game showed his maturation and flash of a great NFL QB.

Although I'm still thinking the win over the Jets because of Rex's big mouth and drama queen, I am looking forward us against the Bengals this coming Sunday. I can't wait to see Flacco beat up Carson. Of course, our pass rush with leading big Suggs will break the Bengals O-Line and lead Ochodancer to an early exit with 2min left in the first half. Mr T.O will follow his lover through the tunnel as well.

We should come out with a win based on what's been shown this year but you can never sleep on the Bengals. Cincy may be driven by their lose last week but you better believe our D is driven by our performance last year in both games. It's already been said what we need to do on offense and defense to win. I personally think it's gonna be more about the run game. Rice, Mcgahee, and Le'Ron having good games is important because it will set up for our pass game. Rice was a couple of shoestring tackles away from breaking some big runs vs. the Jets, so he's already due for some.

Stopping Benson will not only give the D confidence it will also make the Bengals one dimensional. Even though their pass game is looking to be explosive this year, Palmer constantly putting the ball in the air will give us more chances to take it away. Our corners will be more challenged but they will have safety and linebacker help, not to forget the pass rush which also has to come up big. Bend Don't Break!

Special teams will also be more of a factor in this game with field position on both sides.

I browsed through the Bengals forum earlier. They are all taking us pretty lightly. There are a few who realize how tough the game is going to be for both teams.

By my estimation, they gave up 31 more points than we did last week. That's going against The Pats offense. They scored 14 more than us on offense, but we played the
Jets Defense. (whom many cincy fans claim is overrated..even after they stifled the Bengals offense in the playoffs).

This week will be the first true test for our secondary, so we will get to see how they hold up. Hopefully Webb is back and can play some nickel, if not Haruki is doing a great job playing Nickel so far.

This would be a huge win for the Ravens, to go up 2 games on Cincy and possibly have the early division lead with Pittsburgh having a tough road game in Tennessee.

I agree with everything. I don't think Benson is going to have nearly the success he had last year against us. Kelly Gregg is looking like his old self, and we could possibly have Cody back this week. Our front 7 was stout against arguably a much stronger Oline than the Bengals have.

I don't think people apperciate the impact that guys like Q and TJ will have in the running game. Them just getting physcial with the Bengals CBs and Safeties will be huge in the playaction game. The Ravens need to come out and punch the Bengals in the mouth and continue to do so.

Watching Q rack up 7 catch and 100+ yards will not go unnoticed to the Bengals defense. They will have a heavy focus on stopping him. Obviously they will have a strong focus on TJ just because they are so fimilar with him. It will be hard for them to ignore Rice. With all of this said, guys like Mason and Dickson(if Heap doesn't play) could get lost in coverage. We have to put them in a position to pick their posion. Do u stop the run and allow Flacco to pick you apart. Or do u sit back in coverage and leave space for Ray to work.

I look back to the first drive of the game(after the fumble) vs the Jets. We held the ball for a long time, yes penalties helped, and we did fumble, but that is the type of ball control we will need to keep the Bengals off the field and help our secondary out when their offense does take the field.

If we can get 2 or 3 long sustaining drives that lead to more TDs then FGs, that will put the Bengals into a must pass mode. That Bengals Oline isn't great, and it shouldn't be too hard to get to Palmer. Getting to Palmer when we know he is passing will be keep to minimizing the success of their passing game. We don't really have to sack him, but we must hit him hard and often. Unlike Joe, if Carson is hit early and often, he will lose focus and make mistakes all game.

We have to take the will to run away from the Bengals. Even if we allow them to do what we did against the Jets and run anyway, even though there isn't many yards, the Bengals will have some success. We have to get up by 2 or more scores and focus them to pass 40-50 times. If the ball is in Palmer's hands that much, he will certainly make a few mistakes.

Imo the Begnals offense will look to press with Chad and TO. They will want to put on a show for the fans of Cincy in the home opener, so it won't be hard to get them to go away from the run. The Ravens have to do their part and play into this. All you are hearing his how the Bengals will have a chip on their shoulders from losing and how they won't wanna lose their home opener. Well with this mindset don't you think that both Chad and TO will be screaming for the ball in this big game. If we are smacking Carson around it will be hard for them to get on the same page.

Lets test the true friendship of Chad and TO.

It's crazy that we survived 3 turnovers last week.
We can't allow that many mistakes against the Bengals since they are more likely to capitalize on them than the Jets. Actually, we can't have any mistakes.
This is a huge game for us, bigger than the Jets game.

It just goes to show, if we do win the turnover battles. It's lights out again. Just like the past.

But if we lose the turnover battle, we have enough adversity (and sucky Sanchez) to pull away with a win.

That's saying a lot about our team.

The Bengals started to get in a rhythm towards the end of the Patriots game. This will be a lot different than last year because they won't be able to stack the box and play only the run. Actually our receivers might be deep enough to overpower their cornerbacks now. And the way our secondary/defense played, I think we are better in every asset of the game this year.

But we are playing at cincy and they will be motivated since they lost last week. But then again we will be motivated because its a division game. We will see. Their defense didn't really impress anyone last week. Especially my fantasy team...

Plus we have T.J now. They know what T.J can do, and he's gone up against them in practice, as far the CB's are concerned. To me that gives T.J the advantage.
This is the first true test for our secondary and hopefully a chance to showcase our new offense. I don't think Rice will be as contained as he was against the Jets.
