Merged.......Recievers Looked Great

58 posts in this topic

Man, how about Anquan, 110 Yards. Going up to get the ball and Picking on Wilson.
TJ had a couple Great Catches and one Long one from Flacco. Mason has some Solid Catches.

on a TE note, look at Heap With 72 yards of his own! If he made that touchdown catch in the endzone, the game could have been sealed early because Sanchez is just not a good NFL QB.

Receiving Core this week gets a Nice A-. Would have been a + if Heap Pulled Through.

Boldin and Heap were great and Housh didn't do anything but add an extra threat for their defense to worry about which is what I think caused all those penalties.

They did look good. We were able to play very well against the #1 D (from last year) we should do well against the rest of the NFL.

The matchup problem is a nightmare for other teams. Can't wait till Housh gets up to full speed on the playbook.

I'm surprised they kept Revis on Mason almost the whole game. Especially while Boldin was tearing it up.

Actually Revis was flip flopping off Boldin and Mase all day.

Housh looked really good, I really really would of liked to see him in more sets because he made plays(caused flags even) while he was in. I was surprised while in they had him on the outside considering how good he is in the slot.

Of course the did, I said going into the game we should pass on them, Ravens have too many weapons to be stopped, but we had to run into their strength to keep them honest.

This was a sloppy game for the Ravens, we got the win but it wont be like that with teams that have an offense.

Clean it up...

He really had a good showing in his first game. Its tough for a guy to come right in and do something spectacular.

It's almost a silent blessing that Stallworth got injured. Housh will be a big part of our O down the line.

luckily teams with an offense don't have a defense as good as the Jets

I noticed that early but I thought in the second half especially Mason was stranded on Revis Island.

This is true...the Ravens offense is going to be really good once they get things cleared up...and they need to stop turning it over (McGahee)...

..and Zibby was horrible in this game...man...he almost really cost us with that one punt return when he went east/west...almost got the other team a touchdown/saftey/whatever...

Ravens defense was wonderful, see every year they say we are done on that side of the ball and every year they show up and prove em wrong

I called us picking on Kyle Wilson all game long but I really didn't expect Cro to screw up that bad.

Receivers were awesome, what's that about Revis shutting down #1 receivers? 100+ yards for Q in his Ravens debut, just awesome to see a Ravens team throwing it up and having someone bring it down like that.

This night was very rejuvenating

NFL has to learn to stop booking us to celebrate opening/closings of stadiums.

Against a number one style defense, this showed me true Raven style! We could have broken, truly after the Flacco fumble on the first posstion, but true to Raven form, we gave them 3 and did what we have always done, hold! Anquan, welcome brother, and T.J. when you get to speed, dang! Good to see Todd get some help and not get beat up, I really think we have the pieces this year.I know it is only week one but this team seems to be on a missssion. A good mix of veterens and youth and the Ravens do really look legit! :baltimore-ravens:

Can't fully explain the joy of watching a WR is a raven's jersey aggressively snatching a ball out of the sky. Thought I'd never see the day. Thanks Ozzie.

I want to thank both Boldin and Housh for becoming a Raven. It is an honor to have both of you in purple this season.

Boldin nothing more can be said. you are a beast and showed that tonight.

Housh for only being with the Ravens a week and still in the learning phase you showed everyone what a great player your are.

You both made incredible catches and knew how to play the jets DB's into penalties when needed.

Looking forward to seeinf both of you in purple for many years to come. I think here both of you will earn those rings.

I am not going to comment on all the posts becouse i dont have time to review them all but from me scanning I can say this. Heap I luv um he is a raven as much as Reed or Ray, But he needs to learn how to block in the back feild. His bad blocks in critical situations are starting to be a hinderance. The ravens fans love ya but they notice when you dont play up to ability. TJ im not sure that commantaters stating that tj and Boldin are on in hte same should be taken seriously tj... well im sorry but ive never seen anything from him that Really makes me think that he deserves to be a starter on this team. He just got here so I hope he makes me eat my words. His timing and early giving up on a play makes him look like a bad TO. Boldin PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay and be a Raven thru out your career

You mean giving up on the plays he was held/interfered/illegal contacted with? Housh was one of the MAIN reasons we scored a TD, Flacco went to him on 3rd down for a 27 yard catch over top of Cromartie, then Joe went back at him again and Cromartie mugged him in the open field, then Joe went deep do TJ in the endzone 1 on 1 and we finally got a PI call that was ticky tacky called our way. Housh was the guy on our only TD drive...the drive that won the game.

Did they line Boldin up with Cromartie most of the time and kind of leave Mason as a distraction for Revis? I didn't pay too much attention to who was where which is why I think it would be interesting to know how many catches and yards Revis allowed. Putting Boldin as the number two, as I am assuming Revis is covering the number one, I'd imagine that might flip flop a good deal for most of the year? Or is Mason most likely always going to get matched up against the number one CB? So that Boldin can run around causing all kinds of chaos?

I think Mason is simply a better match up for Revis than anyone else on our roster. Revis is an an incredible athlete...the only way to beat him is to outsmart him, and Mace is the best route runner on our team.

Revis was on Boldin at times and on Mason at times.
Boldin was in motion a lot.
It's not like Revis would have only one person all game to cover, and since we have enough weapons, we can change it up to set up a mismatch.
