I think McKelvin is the best cover guy right now. Mike Jenkins is very close in my mind. Flowers is slightly behind those guys and doesn't really fit the Ravens system of being able to play man and make up for mistakes with speed/physicality.,

I really love DRC. But based on what he's got right now, he's between 3 and 5 on the list in terms of 'what they have now'

Personally, I see DRC as being the best of this bunch 5 years out - but it's rough to gamble on potential in round 1. This isn't the NBA, fortunately, or unfortunately.

McKelvin would be the best bet, but I am worried about his hands. Jenkins seems to be the clear #2 CB. Cromartie is intriguing, but not worth that high a pick... Let's not forget that David Pittman, who also went to a small school, tested out very well at the combine too and he has yet to live up to his combine numbers... but I really like Cromartie.

University of Troy is a small school too.

wich cb do you guys think would be the best choice for the ravens?

realisticly i dont see the ravens signing a cb till the 3rd. the CB position is just too deep and talented this year.

here are my played out scenerios

1st-McKelvin. If we somehow decided to take McKelvin which i highly doubt ozzie is ognna draft a CB with the 8th overall pick we would likely take this guy. i mean he has to be the favorite here

2nd-antoine cason, tracy porter or justin king. Mike Mckelvin is going in the 1st DRC is going in the 1st, talib is going in the 1st and jenkins is going in the 1st. Thats pretty much established. If any of these guys fell to the 2nd rd. expect ozzie to pick one of those 4 but if not it would probably be a toss up between cason, king, and porter if they are there in the 2nd. which likely they will be.

3rd-terrel thomas, reggie smith, patrick lee, tvyon branch. This is more likely the crop of CB's we will be choosing from. If aNyone one from the previous mentioned rds were to fall here then they would be the most likely to be drafted.

4th- Chances are we might wait until the 4th because the same names mentions in my rd 3 scenerio are likely to still be here by the 4th which also may be the reaosn why we could wait to the 2nd day to address CB

I highly disagree, I think there is at least a 50% chance we'll draft a corner in the first round.

1 Leodis McKelvin

2 Mike Jenkins

3 Dominique Rogers-Cromartie

I would love for us to pick up any of those first 3 in the 1st round.

how can it be a 50-50 chance when the rvaens will take the best player avialable?

their are at least 10 guys better than mckelvin.

Mckelvin and jenkins are great corners but you dont pass on better players jus becasue you need to address the cb

there is no CB worth drafting in the top 8 anyway. NO cb has 8 pick value

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie! The dude is amazing. And he wasn't just amazing at the Combine either. He was the MVP of the Senior Bowl too! Love the guy.

yaeh he's my favourite too but i don't think we'll draft him in the 1st round andhe won't drop to the 2nd round either.

Maybe we should trade for an aditionnal 1st round pick to get a good corner like him.

thats the "experts" talking, we'll draft what we need regardless of "value," even if it's not a corner

EDIT: Since you're going to rely on the "experts" opinions that there is no corner worth the 8th pick, I'll do the same to support us taking a corner (most likely McKelvin) at the 8th. Below are some links to several mock drafts, look to see what these "experts" think about our 1st round pick.

McKelvin as Ravens' 1st rounder

McKelvin as Ravens' 1st Rounder

McKelvin as Ravens' 1st rounder

McKelvin as Ravens' 1st rounder

Wow, McKelvin in the 1st again?

Jenkins as Ravens' 1st rounder

Rogers-Cromartie as Ravens' 1st rounder

The point is, no one except the Ravens' staff that will be doing the drafting knows who they're going to take and you certainly can't take all of these sports writers and analysts' opinions because they're all different, so don't say a cornerback is not worth the 8th pick when all you can base these ranks on is by what THEY think.

#1. Dominique Rogers-Cromartie

Height: 6-1. Weight: 184.

Combine 40 Time: 4.28.

Benchx225: 17. Vertical 38.5.

Projected Round: Top 10 Pick.

Hello to the next generation C-Mac, Dominique Rogers-Cromartie. They are both tall CBs standing slightly over 6'1 and doesn't just have blazing speed, but vicious tackling ability, elite jumping ability and great hands. With this guy being mentured by C-Mac the sky is the limit!

"Rogers-Cromartie has played in 44 games over the last four seasons recording 158 total tackles, six tackles for loss, 11 interceptions, and 25 passes broken up. Rodgers-Cromartie is a playmaker who possesses a good blend of height and burst. Rodgers-Cromartie covers well, makes big plays and tackles extremely well. He's tall and runs a 4.3. A tall corner who runs a 4.3 is pretty rare. Getting one that picks off six passes in a season is like finding the Loch Ness Monster." -WalterFootball

#2. Aqib Talib

Height: 6-0 3/4

Weight: 202

40-Time: 4.45

Verticle: 38

Has very good size but lacks strength only only had 10 reps 225 lbs.? A lot of people question his feet and say he takes too many risks, but the stats show they are too critical and the only thing he needs to work on is his bench and speed. He's a playmaker! eventhought he did not play his freshman year, he has 13 pick (6 as a junior, 5 as a senior) Amaizing 43 passes broken up (22 junior year 13 senior yr.) Ave. 54 tackles a year finished with 66 senior year. For a guy people dub as too slow and has a bad first step, he seems to be all over the football. He has terrific hands and can be a real ballhawk who can go the distance. Can excel in man or zone. Has run a 4.38, but combine was 4.44.

#3. Tracy Porter

Height: 5-10. Weight: 188.

Combine 40 Time: 4.37.

Pro Day 40 Time: 4.29.

Benchx225: 18. Vertical N/A

Projected Round: 1-2.

Tracy Porter also doubles as a return specialist. He had four INTs and a blocked field goal in 2006, 6 INTs 2007, 16 career INT's, 24 Passes broken up finished senior year with whoping 83 tackels.

#4. Leodis McKelvin

Height: 5-10 1/4

Weight: 190

40-Time: 4.38

Bench225: 17

Vertical: 38.5

McKelvin is A solid tackler with good size great footwork and fine hands. He is an amaizing return guy with extremly outstanding vision of the entire field. If you had a birds eyes view of some of this kid's runs, you'd think he was the best frogger player on earth. He has amaizing cuts and hopes to have an impact like Devin Hester. He averaged 13.1 yards per punt return with 7 touchdowns and 23.7 yard per kick return with one touchdown. I'm not sure about his playmaker ability as CB tho. Very good tackling (averaged 63 tackles last two years), but with only 4 total career INTs (only 2 last yr) and 22 Blocked Passes.

(I leave it up to Ozzie because he has always drafted well. Personally, I want Brian Brohm as our franchise QB. He has a very quick release. Extremely accurate 66.4% completion and poise in the pocket. He go sacked an average amount but very few INT's. Ave pass is over 9 yrds. Passer rating 157.8 10,775 yrds, 71 TD's, 24 INT's. Breakout game against SYR. 555 yrds 4TDs, Mid Tenn 401 yrds 5 TD's. Even when They lost he ave. 28 pointsa a game. One mock draft has us 1st Round: Rogers-Cromartie. 2nd Round Brian Brohm. Unlikely, but that'd be a dream come true!!)

It's actually not that impossible. We share the same dreams my friend.
