Invasion Of Revis Island

Operation Invasion Of "Revi$ Island" About To Be Underway... In the words of former Ravens head coach Brian Billick...

" When you go into the lion's den, you don't tippy toe in — you carry a spear, you go in screaming like a banshee, you kick whatever doors in, and say, 'Where's the SOB?' If you go in any other way you're gonna lose."

Says the guy who got fired...how about carrying in a .30-06 instead of a spear?? Or not going into a lion's den in the first place? lol...

HOORAY!

I don't know though, there was an awful lotta smack talk about him shutting down Ochocinco last year and didn't he do it (28 yards)? Then again that leaves the question, how is that hard? Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Cleveland TWICE and Minnesota held him to under 40 yards last year.

Revis is pretty good, outstanding even. But I don't care how big an island is with enough sharks circling it. Mason, Housh, Stallworth, Boldin, Heap, Pitta, Dickson, Rice, McClain, basically the Dream Team - should be interesting. I don't care if he's Dwight Howard and this was the NBA, no one's gonna be able to stop all those players from dunking on their head.

EDIT: Pitta and Dickson were more then impressive in pre-season IMO.

Exactly, Revi$ is just ONE man who's gonna have his hands full with Q all night. That should free up our other weapons...

Joe Flacco should exploit that Jets blitz, We know Rex bringing it, It's up to us to make him pay for it though.

It's almost like the Ravens roster this year was built for JUST this game. With all due respect when it comes to Revis, maybe he should just sit this one out - he has a reputation to uphold. Call in sick or something.

Almost as if Revis called Ozzie directly and tried to pull an "Ochocinco Smack Talk" then Ozzie just yawned and went "yuh-huh, ok, yeah sure Darrelle. Here, SHUT THIS DOWN!"

There's no doubt the Ravens should rack up some decent passing yardage first to open up the ground game while Revis is over on the sideline puking in a trash can from all the head spinning of Ravens receivers flying around him. I have seen some stacked receiving teams before. But when EVERY SINGLE WIDEOUT (Housh, Stallworth, Mason and Boldin) is capable of a 1000+ yard season, and the other "targets" (Pitta, Heap, Dickson, Rice and MAYBE McClain) are probably capable of 600+ yard receiving seasons, it's almost not fair LOL.

Would it be unrealistic to see the Ravens average 743 yards per game passing this season? LMAO just kidding. It'd be funny if there was only one page in the "aerial Playbook" titled, "everyone just run down the field".

Although I agree with you about acouple things, specifically being that if any team is equiped to exploit the jets defense. I think its not very smart to underestimate Revis. One interesting thing that i read the other day, was that he was the 4 highest CB in the league that got targeted.

I dont think we're gonna totally stay away from Revis, but fact is, he has to be respected to an extent.

I'm not a big Revis fan, but the man is incredible (so far) at what he does. He's a game changer, just like Nnamdi, just like Champ was, just like C-Mac was...they also have a terrific LB crew. In fact, I would rank it over any other team's LBs not named Baltimore and possibly Pitts. But their defense definitely has holes to exploit, and let's not forget, our defense, in a rough year and also transitioning to a new system, still ranked third overall. Our D is just as good, and may prove to be better than their D, and our offense is light years ahead of theirs, so I definitely think we have a good chance at coming away with a win.

Don't see this happening...at all.

Don't get me wrong, I can see you guys maybe working Cromartie and Wilson with Mason and Housh, but Revis is pretty much untouchable.

If Revis can totally shutdown the likes of Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Roddy White, etc then I don't see him having much trouble with Boldin.

If he shows respect to Boldin, he might keep him down. If not, Boldin pretty much runs over him.

You are assuming revis will be on Boldin all night. I see the ravens moving him around and motioning to get mismatches.

Revis is matched up on every teams #1 WR from the start of the game until the whistle blows.

That's the difference between him and a guy like Asomugha. Nnamdi covers only the left side of the field, be it the opposing teams #1 reciever or #4 receiver. Revis follows guys like Andre Johnson around for 60 minutes and blankets them for the entire game, regardless of where they are lined up at.

I am not sweating Revis to much because Mason has been our main target with Flacco for the past 2 years? Now he has 2 more targets so unless Revis can cover about 4-5 men we should be good because Cromartie doesn't scared me that much he has 5 interceptions in his last 32 games, no forced fumbles, no deflected TD's last year and only 33 tackles last year... So on paper he isn't scaring me at all VS Mason or TJ.

We don't Rally around Revis we rally around Joe Flacco.
They are going to need a lot of help from there guys like Jimmy Leonard and Dwight Lowery...
We going to be a handful for them..
