Man, wish I could do nothing AT ALL for a few years, then actually do my job for a year and get this kind of coin!

I like Miles Austin too. He's a good player, probably one of the best WR eventually. They have to lock him because that's Romo's most trusted target. I don't know about Dez Briant. He don't have the chemistry like Miles has with Romo yet. Give him couple yrs, he'll be the next TO.

I would have... you know... waited another year before throwing an extension at him, especially for that kind of money. I'd rather see him back up his numbers from last year before just throwing him $57 million. It'll be quite humorous if Austin never matches or surpasses those numbers again.

I agree, I would have liked to see another year of productivity before giving him the big money. So many players want the big pay day after one big season, and some flat stink from then on. Case and point Albert Haynesworth.

haha, this is one of many reasons i hate the cowgirls. enjoy your $10M/year one-year-wonder!

Fly, usually you're a fairly rational dude. I couldn't disagree with you anymore on that assessment. Can you support why you feel that way?

Austin is a really good player and I think he'll have a great career but like others have said, I'd have waited to see if he could match last season's numbers this season before handing him that much coin.

Miles Austin is a beast... you all saying he's a one-year wonder, you're going to be really upset when he produces even better numbers than last year after playing an entire year this season. Austin has an amazing story of being undrafted and rising through the ranks to take the hold of top 10 reciever in NFL, possibly being top 5 at the peak of his career.

And I'll add this; the way defenses covered him last year won't be effective this year, as Bryant will more than take his share of coverage plans, and then if you account for those two players, you still have Witten, who excels in the short range, middle passing game.
