Pretty much a defensive battle. Saints offense was relentless in the final few minutes. They wanted those first downs!

Funny you mentioned that...

Last year, this guy in one of my leagues proclaimed Hartley as the super sleeper of the year; and drafted him in the 8th Round (no, thats not a typo).
That was even funnier when he got suspended the first month.

There are so many things wrong with the above scenrio that I dunno where to even start...but sho' nuff, Hartley did kick butt when he played last year (just ask Minny )

wow, and I was going to predict a Saints blow out... my score prediction was 27-13... well, guess thats not really a blow out as far as points go, but I thought NO would dominate the game

I was also pegging this as a shootout. The saints did look rusty at times but some credit has to go to the vikings defense.

It started off that way. I was wondering if they would ever hand the ball off. Brees came out firing.

I expected the saints to attack, that's Sean Payton's MO but I noticed the lack of running plays as well. On the other side though i wasn't expecting 3 straight running plays by the vikings on their first drive. They just didn't look in sync most of the night. Having a QB who had 2-3 drives in pre-season plus missing your best receiver will do that i guess.
