2010 Kickoff: Vikings @ Saints Game Thread

[u]Minnesota Vikings v.s New Orleans Saints[/u]

After what seemed like an eternity, the 2010 NFL kickoff is mere hours away and it starts off with the rematch of a high contested game between the Vikings and Saints. Last time they play Brett Favre got hit more times after the play than in any other regular season game in 2009, threw 2 interceptions adding to the total 5 turnovers that went in New Orleans favor, who's defense caused 6 forced fumbles (recovering 3). Despite that, the Vikings statistically dominated in every other offensive category.

A lot of analysts pick the Saints to open the regular season strong with a win over the Vikings, lead by Brett Favre for a second straight season, Brett is coming off an ankle injury and is also missing his #1 receiver from last year, Sydney Rice out with a hip injury for 7 weeks.

In their 2009 meeting Drew Brees threw for 197 yards compared to Favre's 310 yards but threw for 3 TD's eventually leading the Saints past the Colts to notch New Orleans first Superbowl victory.

This should be an interesting game to watch. Here's to a great season!

I think the Saints pull away in this one and leave Favre on his back most of the game... either way, it's going to be an awesome kick-off to the 2010 season!

I can't believe it's already here. I'm so pumped for tonight. I have NO winning by 10. Hate Favre, hate the Vikings. With the kind of atmosphere that that the Superdome will present tonight, they'll come out ready and score fast. AP better hope for a damn good matchup tonight, even though I think the Saints will stop the run pretty easily, then Favre doesn't have Rice to begin with.

I think so too. I'm only hoping the Saints do it without Brees throwing for 4 TDs.

They are going to throw the kitchen sink at Favre. The Minny O-Line better be up to par. I expect to see a heavy dose of AP tonight.

I, too, think that the Saints are going to come off strong with a victory but it'll be no more than a 10 point victory.

Easy.

Because their biggest market, "male fans" are going to watch the NFL every season no matter what band they put on, they're not losing those guys. Putting on hip, new bands lets them expand and reach people that may not watch football, possibly getting more people to start watching that usually didn't before.

i get what your saying but Dave Matthews is neither new or hip,just annoying imo
