Draft A Qb?

9 posts in this topic

Hey guys, should the Ravens draft a top QB if he falls to the 8th pick? If there isn't a guy available there, should they even draft a Qb at all in the late rounds?

Right now I think we have enough QB's to compete for the position depending on Boller and Mcnair's situation? I think Mcnair should retire to free up space, but if he is strong enough to go another year and feels he can still produce, who am I to judge him? Anyeways what do ya think?

See what we have, sit on it for a year.

There is always Curtis Painter, Cullen Harper, Matthew Stafford, Nate Longshore and Colt McCoy.

You're right, we have to see how good boller's got over the past years and especially how good Troy really is.

I dont think this is a good year for QB's. Matt Ryan is a mediocre QB in the NFL and he is considered the top pick. Brohm was a top 10 selection last year, and needs to have an excellent pro-day I think to go in the top 10 this year. I also think that the QB crop next season will be significantly better with the likes of Tim Tebow (FLA), Sam Bradford (OKL), and a few sleepers like Rhett Bomar at Sam Houston State. I dont see us taking a QB this year with a tenured veteran (McNair) and solid backup (Boller) and a prospect in the making (Smith). Boller is under contract for one more year and depending on the development of Smith, I see Boller gone next year, McNair taking a backup role, and us carrying two quarterbacks in 2009. If the Troy Smith project doesnt work out the talent level is much higher next year.

Tebow has alredy said he is going to stay with the Gators all the way up to his senior year.

Tim Tebow isn't considered a pro prospect. If Alex Smith turns around his career it may help Tebow's stock.

I believe Cullen Harper is considered the best pro prospect right now.
