"Baltimore filled its final roster spot Tuesday, signing cornerback David Pender to the practice squad.

The 6-foot Purdue product reportedly participated in a tryout with defensive backs Chevis Jackson, Lydell Sargeant and Terrail Lambert Tuesday, according to the National Football Post"

I guess he impressed the coaches the most. I don't really know much about any of these guys.

I looked and didn't see a thread about this but if there is one I apologize.

Don't know much about Pender. I'm glad we didn't go with Jackson. But if he is practice squad material then so be it, I can't say I've ever seen our practice squad guys ever become something.

I wonder how many guys who have been on practice squads go on to make a good career in the NFL.

If they were looking purely for a PS addition, it's no surprise they chose Pender over Jackson, seeing as Chevis isn't eligible for the practice squad to begin with.

Well I think if Jackson had really impressed them he would be put on the roster and whoever got waived would be moved to the PS if they weren't claimed.

I'm guessing

No doubt, but they were probably looking for mostly practice squad talent, not another member for the active roster. Jackson would have had to really impressed the team for them to cut someone to make room for him. Especially when they need to be able to make room for Williams at week 3 and Reed at week 7.
