Trade For Flacco

4 posts in this topic

Ok,

I had a mind lapse during the draft, and lost track of time. Autopick gave me Brett Favre, when I was going to get Flacco. I'm kicking myself for that mistake.

10-team PPR
My Team:
QB: B. Favre, D. McNabb
RB: F. Gore, R. Mathews, P. Thomas, D. McFadden, C. Williams, L. Washington
WR: R. White, P. Harvin, S. Holmes, J. Jones, D. Aromashodu
TE: A. Gates

His Team:
QB: J. Flacco, K. Kolb, C. Palmer
RB: J. Charles, A. Foster, L. Mauroney
WR: R. Moss, L. Fitzgerald, S. Smith (Car), S. Moss, D. Bryant, M. Williams, S. Rice
TE: V. Davis

Now, the guy who got Flacco is a Vikings fan, too bad he only has Sidney Rice.

I already sent some trade offers, but my fear of Flacco's trade value came true. The guy's asking price is really high.

He wants a top-10 RB along with Favre for Flacco because he thinks Flacco is going to have a top 5 QB season.

He says he needs RB, because his RB Corps is thin. He has a surplus of WRs, which he might trade for RBs.

I'm willing to trade any of my RBs, except Thomas, Mathews, and Gore because they're going to produce bulk of the points.

What should I do?
Is getting Flacco a lost cause and I should go for other QBs?
Should I wait to see if Flacco's value go down?
Or stick with the old man Favre, and hope for a great fantasy season?

it's obvious his weakness is RB

I'd make the offer of Thomas for Flacco... with the comment saying "RB's hold more value than QB's, I'm not giving up 2 picks for a hunch that Flacco is gonna be a top 5 QB, Thomas is proven to put up good #'s... and well your RB corps is based off of sleepers"

if he says no, try for Favre (and depending on which RB your offering, one of the WR's)

that or offer two of your lower end backs

if he says no... and asks for something ridiculous, just walk away... watch Foster & Charles... if they aren't living up to their "potential" come back again w/ another offer for Flacco... if Kolb & or Palmer are putting up good amounts of Fantasy points, you should be able to make a deal

Is Flacco worth giving away P. Thomas? I value P. Thomas so much that he's untouchable to anyone because he's set up for a big year with goal-line duty, lack of RB depth, and a great O-line.

I'm hoping one of my sleeper RBs (McFadden, Williams, or Washington) put up some huge numbers early so I can make a case for the guy to pick them, since RB is a need for him.

Is Favre set-up for a good year cause I like him, but the potential of Flacco is too much to pass up.

I'm superstitious that I messed up in the draft on the part on picking Flacco, when I had the chance. Everything went wrong, with me not paying attention, headphones were on mute, and the 4 seconds on the clock, when I was back.

I always like to keep my bench expendable because as the year goes on, new names, new sleepers, and hidden gems will show up.
