We now have some guy named Cantwell on our Practice Squad just in case but I think we'll be good to go this season with Joe and Mark.

Other than the practice squad QB, the Ravens would need to clear someone from the 53-man roster to make room for White if he were to be signed. The purpose of releasing Troy Smith was to make room for another positional player with dual value on special teams anyway, so to sign a third QB to the active roster would make that a moot point.

Besides, White has shown that he's struggled as a pocket passer and is still the mobile QB that he was at WVU -- for better and for worse. Mobile QBs at the pro level generally don't succeed, and the ones that find success, only do so after they've refined their pocket-passing skills.

Pass. What's next on my list to shoot down?

I'd rather stick with Troy Smith over Pat White. Pat White was also dealing with some sort of "serious health issue" that originally claimed that he would miss the entire season. I know he made it back with many questions. But there is something else going on.

I think the Ravens are past project QB's at this point. Especially ones who are more mobile than accurate. I think that White may be a little too small to play QB at this level anyways. In the few games I saw him in last year, he was getting crushed by LB's and I honestly felt bad for him. He's only about 200 pounds.

Visual evidence

ouch that hurt me, wow! I'm glad I don't play football sometimes.

Troy Smith 2.0?

No thanks! We just got over that ordeal..

Pat White is so much more mobile than Troy Smith. Pat White is fast, and could outrun LBs in this league.

I'm all for Pat White. I thought (and still do think) he can be a successful NFL QB given the right situation.

At first, I thought Pat White might've seriously suffered from depression or a mental health issue, but then I became more skeptical when he started to over-elaborate on how personal the issue allegedly was.

I think, honestly, he just lost his passion for the game and wanted to walk away, but was talked back into it by family and friends.

That's exactly what I thought when I first heard the news. Thought he was pulling a Vince Young or something.

But then it became clear that he wasn't sure if he fit into this whole NFL football thing. The pressure, the expectations, the competition.

Not sure if he'll find an NFL team anymore.

I think Glen Coffee just got pissed at people yelling at him. Plus with his name, he'd be better suited to try a career as a barista.

Any fan of both the Steelers and Ravens is very suspect to give educated input.

That being said, What doest Pat white do for our team? We have Flacco and Bulger. We can run the Wild Cat with David Reed, which I've heard we have done, and honestly, the Wild Cat was a fad. It's over with.

People like Pat White, Troy Smith, Tyrod Taylor and Ricky Dobbs are great in College but don't have what it takes to be a passer in the big leagues

I'm pretty sure that Glenn left it because he didn't feel like it was what God was calling him to do. Can't ignore the advice of the Almighty!

Some one who can walk away from an opportunity to play in the NFL that easily? I feel like there was more than just being ticked at people involved. I kinda felt the same way about Coffee as Franny did about White. I definitely think there was pressure on him to declare for the draft...something it seems he didn't want to do.

Glen Coffee, a barista? That would be entertaining, but confusing.

In order to play football from HS on it has to be a passion and if the passion and drive are not there, forget about it. I know a lot of kids/young men that get pushed into it only to get hurt or be miserable not some one I would want on my team.

Ravens don't need him. They signed Cantwell to their practice squad. We have our #1 guy healthy and our back-up is more than capable as far as our 53 man roster goes. One would think if you like the guy, you'd campaign for the Steelers to pick him up. Your starter is out 4 weeks, your replacement starter is out 2-4 weeks, Dixon has potential but isn't quite there as far as decision making skills and Batch is a game manager at best.

We finally get rid of Troy Smith and now everyone thinks we should get another mediocre third string QB? Why? Joe played nearly all of last year and did fine. Marc is more than enough back up, thank you.
