Who To Start And Sit?

FWIW: Andre Johnson thinks he will play, but various member of Texans don't think he will. Best to wait on his status till pregame if u can.

So Johnson is very much on the line today. And being a late game might hurt some peeps if he is ruled out later

Good call on Mason Pu!
I'm on a roll with everbody else's team than mine. I picked Royal for someone and that call is proving to be huge.

My teams look like crap today.

pickup of the week... Mike Bell??.. Will McCoy miss time in Philly with a fractured rib?
He played through the injury on Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes, but I would have to think he sits.

Bell if plays would be a great start. But here's the problem it's the Sunday Night game. So McCoy would have to be ruled out early if you want to use Bell.

roll with Dez Bryant v Titans, Steve Smith @Texans and Malcolm Floyd @Raiders or pick up one of the FA WRs? which would probably mean Eddie Royal@Ravens or Derrick Mason v Broncos

Eh. Raiders will pound the rock against the Raiders and when they aren't it'll be the Antonio Gates show. Steve Smith is anemic.

If you are playing pick three. Dez Bryant, Eddie Royal (yes against us, he should fare well enough) and Floyd (barely over Mason).

Yeah the probability of having any of those guys at WR are slim. Cross your fingers, close your eyes and hope they do.

I could see Mase having a big game. But its just so hard to predict with how many weapons we have on Offense.

But I'll defend my Royal pick a little more. We should be able to get a lot of pressure on Orton. Orton short route will be hit a lot, that short route guy is Royal. I expect Royal to get a lot of touches to bail out Orton.

Need help at the flex this week.

I'm in a hole this week with my top 3 picks all on bye. I'm shaky at RB because Ahmad Bradshaw, normally my RB2, is listed as questionable. Louis Murphy, who makes an occasional flex play, is also listed as questionable. I am going with Steve Johnson at WR2 because of his recent success and a good match-up against the Jaguars this weekend. This leaves me with 2 potential options for the flex, both of which do not excite me:

RB Legarrette Blount vs. Cincinnati - ranked 11th against fantasy RB's
WR Mike Sims-Walker vs. Buffalo - ranked 22nd against fantasy WR's

Mike Thomas is also available on the waiver wire. I'm not ready to give up on Sims-Walker yet because I still believe he has the most talent amongst Jacksonville WR's and there is a chance he could break out at some point this year. However, I'm shaky on him as a start this week. I'm unsure on Blount, only because he doesn't have the statlines to back him up, but like his potential. Peyton Hillis had another nice week against the Bengals, and Blount runs similarly to Hillis. Thanks for your help.

Should I stick with Todd Heap (Ravens, 17 pts. this season)... or switch up ...to Brandon Pettigrew (Lions, 23 pts. this season)?
Brandon Pettigrew. Shaun Hill loves his TE's, and as much as I love Heap, we just have too many weapons in the passing game to make him fantasy relevant. Pettigrew is on the rise, as is Tony Scheffler, with Shaun Hill at QB, who isn't a bad bye week fill-in himself. Pettigrew's getting his number called (solid reception totals) and it's only a matter of time before he finds the endzone.

I'd go with MSW seeing as we have yet to see how many touches Blount will get.

That's a tough one. I'm leaning towards Pettigrew frankly because of the situations. C Johnson will continue demanding attention and the way the Lions have thier offense set up, Pettigrew will be a QBs best friend.

Heap on the other hand has too many weapons to contend with. We are using more WRs than TE sets. Plus without Gaither he finds himself blocking more.

In my (PPR) League:
Mike Thomas (JAX) at Buffalo
or
Malcolm Floyd (SD) at Oakland
Buffalo tend to play well against the pass and Thomas has Garrard throwing him the ball...

Floyd should light up the Raiders with Asomugha giving Gates the bulk of his attention.

Personally, I'd go with Malcolm.

Hmmmm. Tough one. But I like Thomas. MSW will get blanketed. And Thomas is filling in the role of MSW from last year. In a ppr league I can see him racking up a lot of catches.

But Floyd is on the better team but San Diego will really look to just smash the Raiders with their run game. And when they aren't doing that , it'll be TD passes to Gates.

Have to say I love the advice I've received on here. You have all been on the mark. Thank you! :)

WR question:
I am considering dropping Steve Smith (Car) and/or Wes Welker (NE), Terrell Owens (Cin) - for either Santonio Holmes (Jets-just coming off suspension) or Davone Bess (Mia).

Good idea or not? And thanks for all of your opinions, they are appreciated.

Keep Wes Welker. He is the threat on offense for the Pats. Owens is starting to come around. Keep him. I'd take Santonio before Davone Bess right now.

So for me the question is would I drop Steve Smith for Santonio Holmes. First off, you aren't carrying two kickers? If so drop one. If you are carrying two defenses, I'd think about dropping one of those first (sounds like you are in a smaller league). But back to the original question.

I would drop Steve Smith for Santonio Holmes. Steve Smith & Holmes are both #1 Wrs on their teams. But the Panthers Offense is in shambles. So the edge goes to Holmes.

Thanks!

I really didn't want to drop Welker. And Bess is new to me so I wasn't sure. It is a small league and I don't have a 2nd K or Def. I'm getting beat by the teams with the top WR's and was just looking to upgrade a little. Steve Smith just hasn't been doing much. Though with the advice I have gotten here I did WIN this pass week. :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

Man, I really don't want to add a Jet but I guess I can. I already refused to have a Pitts player on my team. lol Can't help it, I'd rather lose than add them.

To win fantasy football leagues you have to be indifferent. People who are homers and add all Ravens guys, usually don't win. People who shy away from players on teams they hate, usually don't win.

I'd wait to see if anybody else has a response on the Santonio Holmes addition. Because it's tough dropping Steve Smith for Santonio Holmes. But I really do believe that the way the Panthers O is playing, Steve Smith will continue to struggle when he does get healthy. Plus he'll be out a few weeks with that high ankle sprain.

For Santonio Holmes, I think he needs to get in sync with Sanchez before you have confidence to use him. Right now, Edward is Sanchez's one of the most favorite target beside keller. I'll stick with Steve Smith for now.

You both have a point. But one of the other team wants him so I might just scoop him up while I can. I could always offer him in a trade for one of their WRs.

I know I need to be objective about which team my players are really on but ugh.

I'm torn between a five RBs in ATD's PPR league. I don't really know who to start in either of the 2 RB slots or the flex slot:

Jonathan Stewart (vs. CHI)
Fred Jackson (vs. JAX)
Felix Jones (vs. TEN)
Mike Tolbert (vs. OAK)
Ryan Torain (vs. GB)

Apparently, Jackson is now the starter, according to the Bills. (link)

Honestly, that situation is a real head-scratcher. I'd probably go with Jackson and Mike Tolbert. Jackson is now the guy and the Chargers will look to run Oakland into the ground.

Torain and Fred Jackson. Portis will be out and the Skins will treat the Green Bay Blitzing defense like they did the Eagles blitzing defense last week. Run the ball. He'll succeed in the ZBS this week. Torain is a must out of this bunch. And Fred Jackson. Might as well he's facing Jags at home. Could be a close game.

J-Stew will continue to struggle. If it weren't for that one play last week, he would have been dead to rights. Can't trust J-Stew at all right now. Felix Jones while articles are saying the Cowboys want to get him more touches. They say that crap every year! See Julius Jones. Plus he'll be going against Tenn. I think Norv sticks with Matthews this week, and he goes off for a monster game. Tolbert takes a back seat this week.

Flex play would be Tolbert. The Raiders are just so bad at stopping the run. Pass the rushing points around.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I didn't want to do it but down 1-3, I can't put my faith in Stewart anymore unless DeAngelo goes down or John Fox personally guarantees both guys will see 20+ carries each.

Pu, I couldn't agree more about Felix. It's so frustrating though because Barber has declined so noticeably and yet they continue to feed him the rock.
