Houshmandzadeh, easily.

T.J. is bigger, gets more separation, has better hands(not say Mark doesn't have good hands) and is fearless over the middle. The only area where Clayton is better is pure speed and maybe blocking.

your post is pointless when Clayton is already been traded to the Rams and T.J is now Ravens player now. It's not even realistic to compare these two players.

No it isn't pointless at all, it's who BR.com thinks is the better player out of the 2. We gave up 1 for the other, we weren't carrying both players on the roster. Your example of Moss vs. Mason is terrible......

The trade is finalized and both of them are on different team. My example of Moss and Mason indicated they are on different team. Can we get Moss? or can we go back to get Clayton? Both are unrealistic because it's never gonna happened.

This poll is a bit obvious, as Houshmandzadeh has been the more productive player over his career, by far.

I would like to have kept both since I believe Clayton would've been an excellent slot receiver as many of us suspected, but Houshmandzadeh wins this debate in many different ways, whether it's production or immediate potential or tangible skill set.

Please, if you don't have an opinion on WHICH WR YOU LIKE BETTER, and why... please leave the topic, as that is what it's about. I'm sorry if my question was over your head.

See I on the other hand would have been more happy with keeping Clayton. He's never had the chance to excel in the slot, he knows the playbook, he has chemistry with Flacco, and he could also be a potential kick and or punt return since he is the 3rd string WR.

I also think TJ is old and washed up, and could potentially be a bit of a head case.

I voted for Housh because that is who we have now, not Mark.

I personally like Mark better perhaps because I am used to him and we all rooted against TJ in the past. But what is done is done, the front office felt like Houshmandzadeh was an upgrade and that's what happened. I just hope he gets the playbook digested in less than a week...

You made a couple good arguments about knowing the playbook, chemistry, and possible special teams. When you went as far as to say TJ is washed up you lost all my respect for your post. He is far from washed up, and what evidence is there of him being a head case. He was nothing but a possitive in Cinci, and the only reason he has been upset in Seattle was due to all the changes in player and personel. Who can blame him.

Why does this get 4 negatives? I swear, this site is nothing but a bunch of followers. I gave you a plus one.

I'd take Housh. Never really was a fan of Mark. Glad we got him on the team.

This whole message board is pointless, technically. Do we have any impact on the decisions the front office makes? No. I agree with the OP, if you don't have anything to contribute, don't say anything at all; this board is about opinions, whether realistic or not. +1 for the OP.

As much as Clayton would be the easiest choice in terms of making a predictable impact (because of his knowledge of the system), I would have to choose Housh as well. He has a proven track record of being effective, regardless of questions about character. We could say Clayton had yet to prove himself in a much more promising position by playing in the slot, but why take the chance when there is a proven bargain on the market. The FO is going all in this year, and there is no time to wait and see if players can produce results (especially with the time Clayton has had).

I'm glad that we picked up Housh I wasn't much of a Clayton follower. I think Housh will be better for the Ravens than Clayton.

As has been said: Not only did we get a quality veteran, we kept a possible divisional rival from picking him up. Its a win win situation. Especially for the amount of money we had to pay him. It was a steal and I see nothing but great things to come. Im no swami but I dont think you need to be one to see that.

I didn't like to see Mark go but I think it was because he has been a Raven his whole career and he seems like a good guy. I did vote for Housh because when it comes down to it I think he is the better receiver and winning games is what it is all about.

I can see where people think he's a head case. Hopefully that has changed. What i'd have to disagree with though is that he's washed up. He's had 70+ catches for over 900 yds pretty consistently...including last season.

TJ has been getting close and over 1000 yards for many seasons in a row now. Clayton had big potential but never showed it after his one prime season. Clayton is way overrated by so many Ravens-fans. TJ without a shadow of a doubt.

T.J. and its not even close. Clayton might have been better in the slot, but that wont improve his hands.

T.J. is as sure handed as anyone in our team. Couldn't say that about Clayton.

Clayton very rarely dropped the ball.......why does everyone take the NE drop like that was his typical showing on the football field?

Because the average person remembers a person's faults and not a person's positive traits; taking the benefits for granted. I agree though, Clayton was a sure bet to make any catch. The one that sticks out in my mind is his one handed deep bomb grab against Cinci a couple of seasons ago.

What I want to know is why after years of people horribly bashing Clayton, have they begun to care about him because his job with the Ravens, was finally on the line?

So obviously Mason, Heap, Ocho, TO, Hines are also old and washed up and can't even begin to compete in this league (rolls eyes)

I think because at the end of the day, Mark is a fine human being. Regardless of what he did or didn't prove on the football field, who wouldn't want a guy whose as hard a worker as anyone, so selfless, and as good a teammate as Mark on their team?

Trust me, anyone that plays the game wants to win. Clayton could have been Gandhi off the field, but that doesn't win you games.
We lost Clayton and got T.J, we got better.
I'm all for people treating each other right and human rights, etc. but this is football, it's a sport.
If you can play, you can play, if you can't play but you're a good person, that doesn't translate to making the team.
Don't get me wrong, he could have a great season with the Rams, probably better than with the Ravens in our division.

Just like Troy Smith. He's a good guy, even though he would wear a Yankees hat and wanted to play for the Browns. That's all fine, who cares, but he just couldn't do it. He's on a good team now, not as good as this team, but the 49ers will be pretty good this year.
Smith was a good guy, the players liked him, but he never panned out.
Sorry(?)
