Jordan Jefferson (LSU QB) is absolutely AWFUL. You'd think a program as ambitious as LSU would have a Quarterback that, oh I don't know, could actually hit a wide open receiver 10 yards away from him?

It's funny because I don't like LSU, but c'mon. He makes Brantley (Florida) look good.

NCAA Football is so much closer this year than it was last. Shows that teams like Alabama, Florida, Texas etc. can't just keep bringing in new talent without skipping a beat.

Oh sure Penn State can win against Minnesota but lose to Illinois.....

I was noticing the BCMess Top Ten, and I see that Mizzou is number six (insert Prisoner reference here) and Wisconsin is number nine.

Yet the Top Four are interesting - Auburn, Oregon, Boise State and TCU. Does anyone here give the "War Eagle" a chance of making the Championship game?

I would like to see Boise State in the Championship Game, preferable against either Mizzou or Wisconsin, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see how this all filters out over the rest of the season.

Sorry, Taco. I must.

:wootwoot:

:wootwoot:

Evan Royster is a BEAST! He surpassed Curt Warner as Penn State's career rushing leader last night. Too bad we're just fine in the RB department or I'd start a 'Draft Evan Royster' campaign. :D

I am rather pleased that Joe Paterno got his 400th win yesterday, and I enjoy seeing the Big Ten teams do well.

My only game I was trying to watch yesterday, however, was from the Ivy League - Penn at Princeton. When the score was 31-3, Penn, I just turned it off. That was enough for me.

Big win for Miami today. It was really good to see all 5 RBs get involved and rip off big runs. I can't wait for next week's game against VT.

Am I surprised to see Penn State winning?

Yes. Pleasantly surprised.

I'll also be really surprised if they can hold on to it.

Is anyone else as sick of these Cam Newton allegations as me? This just sounds like sour grapes, on the part of Mississippi State, since he spurned them for Auburn.

I certainly am.

Cam isn't the first and won't be the last big recruit or transfer to sign with a program on a pay-for-play basis.

Like others have said, it's doubtful if these allegations would have come out had Cam been struggling.

Very True. What I do wonder is if these allegations will hurt his draft stock in the 2011 Draft, you guys think it will?

After going 7-5 this year, Miami fired head coach, Randy Shannon. Apparently, the offensive line coach, Jeff Stoutland, has been named as the new head coach. However, the best part is ESPN's Mark May claimed was on the side of Shannon, stating that the 'Canes did not play for BCS championship, that they didn't have great facilities, that they played too far away, and didn't sell very much seats. He ended with saying "So when you look at the entire situation, this is not a marquee program. This is not 2001. This is not 2002. This is 2010. … the fans think they are better than they are."

It's a sad state of affairs right now.

I heard Mark May's rant and while I agree with May to an extent about expectations being a bit high, I'm not sure what the poor facilities, stadium being far away from campus or attendance have to do with the lapses we've seen from the players in key games and big moments the past three seasons.

Unlike other Miami fans, I've been looking for this team to simply compete for an ACC title the past three seasons rather than look for a national title. I think the promise the team had this season prior to the VT game followed by the subsequent losses to Tech and today's loss doomed Shannon.

Hopefully, the program can hire a coach adept at talent development. Athleticism has never been a problem for Miami, even as the program has slid to mediocrity since 2003. The seeming inability to get the most out of the players has been the biggest problem in my opinion.

Apparently, Brandon Harris said he may go pro early due to the coaching change because his father was on Shannon's coaching staff.
That isn't surprising. He's had a really good junior season and obviously has the skills to be a starting CB in the NFL.

We now have one last week to the regular season of college football before the final BCS poll comes out on Sunday. In particular, Oregon faces Oregon State in their civil war of the gridiron, and Auburn will face South Carolina in the SEC Championship.

Given the possibility of a jump by any of the remaining teams in the top ten - that is, should there be an upset in the top two - we could see one or even both teams in the BCS Championship having one loss apiece.

How do any of you feel in regard to this possibility? I welcome your comments on this issue.

I love the rumor of Jon Gruden being in talks with Miami for their head coaching job. Even though there's been nothing really said about it either way, I can't see it happening. If Gruden wants to get back into coaching, I'm sure he'd wait to see what openings are going to be available in the NFL after this season.

The BCS Selection is tonight, followed by the Bowl Selection show, so we should see where our teams are going.

My friend Kevin emailed me this morning (my time that is)..

He's watching the Army/Navy game with his Army squad. Told him I wished I could be a fly on the wall for that one. Asked him if he intended on sitting on the opposite side of the room....heh

*chuckle*

It's only this season that I've started following the College game. Do the Army and Navy teams still have some sort of GPA responsibility and are they eligible for the draft?

It's official. Cam Newton is your 2010 Heisman Award Winner. Newton beat out Andrew Luck, LaMichael James, and Kellen Moore.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5909569

You guys think Newton will declare for the Draft and is he first round material?

I'll have to find out more about him but I really hope he and his coaching staff are good at developing talent.
