[Blogs] ‘Housh’ Now A Raven, Clayton A Ram

113 posts in this topic

I don't know why people are so upset about this. Clayton and D. Will were the fourth and fifth receivers on this team, at best. They've been around long enough for us to see what they can bring to the table. Remember, too, Mason's deal ends this year and we don't know if he'll want to hang it up or not. Ozzie's moves, in my opinion, are doing two things: evaluating new and different targets to both see what types of recievers fit best with Joe and are best for our team, and set us up to go after a few of the young guys in next year's draft. Cornerback and reciever are really our only two long-term needs right now, and in the last few weeks Ozzie's done things so we won't be desperate going into 2011. The man always thinks years ahead, and I bet by this time next year everyone here who's wondering about these moves will be like "Oh, that's what Ozzie, Eric, and the boys were preping for."

The progress, personnel wise alone, we have made from last year to this year is AMAZING. Easily the best receiving trio in the league right now.

I'm a little hurt to see Clayton traded, but maybe it was for the best... Clayton was a real Raven that never lived up to his potential, but its a bitter sweet moment to see him leave... True Raven fans will never forget you, Mark... As for T.J, I hope he shines in the purple and black attack... The sky'S the limit for this offense....

Go Ravens!!!!!!!!!

I agree that it is hard to see Clayton leave, but glad that we have TJ on board. When you watch a player like Clayton play on your team for that many years he becomes someone you're use to watching play for the Ravens and expect him to be there, right now it's kind of a foreign feeling, but it will pass.Good luck Clayton and welcome aboard TJ.

I know most people might say something about the game against the Patriots when he dropped the ball last year.I remeber the game against the Patriots when he was pushing against 3 defensivebacks to almost get in against the Pats to stop their winning streak,he didn't get in but boy did he fight hard and what is the Ravens motto"Play like a Raven".Those are the things I choose to remember about Clayton.

Today, 04:06 PMThe Wizard is leaving much to be desired in the WR field. With the exception of a useless Smith, we've gone to a 30 something receiving corp. I'll lay odds by the end of the season the average yard per catch state is less than 9 yards.

dude u bumped ur head obviously not a ravens fan if u post this nonsence they had better average without these recievers and bold is the best at yac receptions and so is house and mason so please either learn football or stop imposting on our website..

Mark: Sorry to find you'll be leaving us. We all know that when one door closes, another opens. It's easy to assume you'll make the Rams a better team with just your presence. You know how to help a rookie QB come together and I'm sure you'll help your new QB reach his potential. Thanks for all you've done for this team and for the city. You'll be missed but not forgotten!

Of course it sucks to see Clayton, Barnes and countless others leave the team. Especially when Clayton was supposed a great thing, well he might not of been great but he was good and showed some promise during the pre season. But there just comes a time to have to let go and move on, adding TJ is a great thing and he should make this offense even better. Well Joe and Cam wanted weapons and by god they got them, so now it's all on you Joe. Take us to the next level and yourself for that matter Joe.

I hate to lose clayton and barnes. i wish them the best and know clayton might end up bradford's favorite target considering how awful their other receivers and TEs are (minus donnie avery who's hurt) - i still think barnes was an unnecessary move but i trust ozzie as much as everybody else, so lets go housh, prove your worth so i can stop seeing you in that ugly bengals jersey in my head.

i wish clayton could have stayed. i have always backed him up when people were saying how terrible he was. he wasnt the greatest but he was a better than average wr to me. he was proving it all this preseason. i wish him all the luck in the world as a ram. now is his chance to showcase his talents.

Clayton and Barnes, thanks for what you did for our team, and best of luck with your new colors.

It seems clear to me that Ozzie is already thinking hard about the next draft - we'll need to trade up...

Our offense is structured to win the time of possioion battle and to beat the *^*& out of a defense. T.J is a great possision reciever seattle wants speed t.j doesnt have that but he can cacth the ball even when hit hard. OUR offense needs to keep our defense off the feild to keep them well rested they are apart of the elite in the Nfl but they produce better when they see the offense move the ball and give them rest. Prime example playoff lost to the colts our defense hung in there but when they witnessed our offense get shut down they lost motivation Great pick up at a great price

Ozzie is a genius, but we all know that of course. I can't wait for our team to turn Revis island into the Jets graveyard (as someone else put it). I like the sound of that. Gonna be a tough game, but that's what we are about. Crush'em guys, we believe in you.
