I was just wondering who people thought would be the biggest impact signing. I know Revis is probably going to be back to form, shutting down recievers. Will TJ bring as much impact to our already deep wide reciever corp?

My opinion is TJ will be more of an impact cause there is only so many dbs on one team to cover with any consistancy. We have too many weapons. If Cam does what we expect as far as creativity, we should be almost unstoppable. The front line is going to be the key to it all.

Not even close, Revis. Best cover CB in the game. Now this puts Kyle wilson inside. They don't have 1 great cb.. they have 2 allworld cover corners and a stud in the making inside. The problem with the TJ signing is he won't be on the same page with flacco within 7 days I can promise you that. Look how long it took boldin and stallworth... It wasn't a counter to revis it was a move they would of made anyway.

revis can only play one side of the field! Championship!
You mean one HALF and that means no one else gets to play on that side.

I wasnt just referring to the Raven jets game. Im talking impact to this season. I know what Revis can do but he can only do it against one reciever.. What about the other 2, 3, 4, that may be on the field?

I don't consider Cromartie "all-world" but he's an above average CB.

As for the original question, I think it'll be Revis.

Revis is the #1 so his presence moves the other CB's down to more reasonable coverages. TJ is the 3rd or 4th so he doesn't really change anything for our 1 and 2 WR's. Revis is clearly more useful to the Jets but they're paying him 20 times what we're paying TJ.

I've noticed he gets "colder" as the game wears on. His technique slips and his tackling somehow gets even worse.

Reminds me of Ike Taylor: Brilliant at times, average at others. Although, Ike seems to be coming in with a vengeance this year.

Anyway, Cromartie doesn't really scare me.

I'm going to keep this argument to the Jets game. I like TJ's odds as the #3 against Kyle Wilson. Veteran WR vs. rookie CB? You have to feel good about that, even with TJ's inexperience with Flacco.

You answered your own question. Of course I would rather have Revis. That wasnt the question. The question is who will have the greater impact to their perspective teams season. Its a poll, its an opinion, and there probably isnt a right or wrong answer.

I'm so sick of people saying Revis shuts down HALF the field. Correction. HE SHUTS DOWN ONE PLAYER. Revis is a human being, he isn't capable is covering multiple receivers over half a field.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you but the match-ups won't be as cut and dry as Q against Revis, Mason against Cromartie and T.J. against Wilson. I'm positive Revis will shadow Q all night but Cromartie and Wilson will likely find themselves covering either Mason or T.J. at different times. However you match them up though, I'd tip the scales in the Ravens' favor.

So you were sick of hearing people saying Ed Reed covered 2/3 of the field?

The dude made Randy Moss look like Frank Walker.

Oh, and it's not that he isn't capable of covering multiple WR's or half the field, he's just not asked to.

You're right. I should've rephrased what I was saying. I just like our matchups in general. If Mason is being covered by Kyle Wilson, that's perfectly fine by me. I think we definitely have the age, even if only for veteran experience over rookie youth.

Revis is the best CB in the league but he is only one man....TJ is a good WR but he wont have as big of an effect on a game as revis. Revis can take away the other teams best WR, TJ is going to compliment our passing game.

Revis can't shutdown half of the field....no sir, he isnt Ed Reed in his prime! lol....he is a hella good CB though

this actually a poll?

Forget passing against the Jets. Run the ball and hope for the best.
Yeah right, Ravens are going to pass on the Jets plenty..oh we'll run it too don't worry. Revis can't stop all the weapons the Ravens are going to be throwing the Jets way.

I feel sorry for the Jets offense even with our banged up secondary. I see a few INTs for Sanchez..and they will try to run it as much as possible.

I believe you're thinking of Nnamdi.

Also, comparing a Probowl shut down corner to our number 3/slot receiver is a no contest.

I just think Mason or Boldin will produce on him because of their superior route running. Hopefully...

The point of the poll is not between Revis or TJs skill level or individual performances but rather the impact they will bring to their team.

Is Revis signing going to make the Jets a better team or is signing another proven wide reciever going to make the Ravens a better team. Especially in the developement of Flacco now having so many weapons????

It wasnt that difficult a question. Maybe I was too brief in what I was looking for because most have made it out to be who would you rather have type of question.

No I understood it. I really believe that it's no contest that Revis will be better for his team. I mean Kyle Wilson is good and all but Revis covering Boldin or Mason is going to be bothersome for Flacco.

I really think Clayton would have been good for us in the slot but if Oz wants Housh, I guess he'll do wonders for us...even if I still think he's a bengal in my eyes....

But yeah I deft think Revis is more detrimental to his team than Housh. Housh needs to crack open the playbook and get a rapport with Flacco and Revis just needs to step on the field and flash his talent.

I'm gonna say Revis. Why? over $100 million dollars resign that's why. If that isn't impact enough I don't know what is. There goes the Jets' cap space. :toilet:

But for games though it's TJ.

Revis can't cover them all lol.

Revis will have higher impact. However here's how ya beat Revis, run the ball right at him. Then ya have his man run a 9 and have someone run a 10yd out right under him. Can't defend 2 guys.

Revis, with Revis it allows Rex to completely open up his playbook and not have to worry about a rookie covering Mason on the outside. Rex knows what Mason brings and he would have to give Wilson help, and most likely Cromartie help underneath with Boldin with a LB. Now hes going to leave Boldin 1 on 1 with Revis, and alot of the time Cromartie 1 on 1 with Mason. Our TEs and Housh, better be ready to go in the slots.
