Big Name Free Agent

20 posts in this topic

What team makes the first splash with a fat contract in this free agency?

i hope the ravens can bring in a big name for a reasonable price.

I have my money Alan Feneca or Lance Briggs goes first

I don't expect us to sign a big name free agent, we have to re-sign Suggs and Jason Brown first.

Faneca will probably get a big deal (Jets?). Then you have Samuel (Saints?), Michael Turner (Bears?), Justin Smith (Vikings?), Lance Briggs (San Fran?) and Drayton Florence (Washington?).

i think that Lance Briggs will be the First BIG time player to sign a big Contract with another team, seeing how he's a top notch player whom makes plays continually and consistantly.....i feel as though he will be the first one to land a deal.

i think as far as Free Agency goes....we are focused more so on the Players on this team that we want back...thats are primary concern at this point in time...then after the signing of them is done and over with....will we then move on and shift our focus elsewhere.

Who do we have to worry about re-signing that is a starter, and any more news of possible cuts/retirements, i live in Ohio so i dont hear much, i heard rumors of mcnair structuring his contract, and whats up with JO

both McNair and JO have restructured their contract's in order for the team to have more Cap space and room to spend on the Players they want on this team or want to retain. Heap has also Restructured his contract with the same mindset of more Cap room.

it is that and those types of players on a team that can and will make the most impact.......just look at Kelly Gregg for us......he's the Teams un-sugn hero because he's not a BIg time player that EVERYONE recognizes...but he most certainly gets noticed by his teammates and coaches for what he contributes week in and week out in every game.

..."The team (the Ravens) heads into the start of free agency tomorrow with approximately $3.3 million in cap space...."

-From Baltimoresun.com

thats really all i could find as of right now.

yea i mean i doubted that there would be any type of "big" name signings right off the bat...that would be just a little rediculous....you must be smart with your spending because like they said before......"you go out and spend alot of money on one or two players...only to have them not perform up to your hopes or up to standards, and is only an Average player."

Do you guys think we will make any form of move-trade, signing, ext.

i'm personally hoping to trade for a o-lineman or CB

I think they might go after Andre Dyson formerly of the Jets. He could add good depth, has starting experience, would be an upgrade over Ivy and Pittman, and shouldnt cost to much.

i think any player that we could bring in to help out at any one position would be a big help because we may not need that player right off the bat but having that Extra insurance thought of knowing you have a player that can step in and make a difference....is a thought in which many NFL coaches and Owners can get at least a little bit more extra sleep on.
