"NFL To Expand Season To However Many Games It Takes To Permanently Injure Ray Lewis"

I suppose in relation to Ray's comments against the 18-game schedule, the oh-so clever writers at The Onion wrote another oh-so clever article.

All I could think when I saw it was "I'm a machine, jerk!"

Don't ask me why I was reading The Onion. I'm not exactly their fan but I thought maybe some of you guys would have a comment about it.

I say insulting! You don't sit there and write a article about wanting a player to get injured. That is not proper of a "sports writer." Whoever wrote that needs to be fired and shouldn't be able to cover the NFL for the remainder of his life. As I look at some of the articles and so called analysts talk about sports it makes me wonder how they got a job, I mean I went to Broadcasting School so I can get lucky to eventually be a Analyst in the NFL and I already feel I'm better than most people who are on TV and write articles for news papers and web sites.

I know you wanted to bring this to our attention but I wouldn't have gave this site or article any promotion or page views, it reminds me of how people get upset at Mike Preston, yeah he says things you don't like but when you read it, get mad and tell others to read it, your helping give page views when sometimes they shouldn't have any page views.

If this was a reputable sporting news agency, I'd say differ. But its the onion, who cares.

I didn't find it as insulting in any manner towards Ray, The Ravens or their Fans. I did think it was overly sarcastic, directed solely towards criticizing Goodell and his plans for an 18 game season. The overzealous writer was using Ray as an example that the NFL is seriously risking injury to players by doing this. Just my opinion.

Could be worse. Imagine if the NFL played to however long it took to injure Todd Heap or Ed Reed; we'd have a 4 game season.

It was probably written by DJ Gallo, one of the sports writers there. He also has his own fake sports news website called [url="http://www.sportspickle.com"]Sports Pickle[/url] as well as for Page 2 on ESPN.com. He's usually pretty funny, but his Ray Lewis jokes get tired after a while.
