I'm not believing the hype on Kindle-I watched this guy in several Texas games over the last couple years and can't see where he ever looked dominating. He has some speed but why would anyone compare him to Demarcus Ware- and he is defintely not on the Suggs level. Maybe for a 3rd down situation level-but I don't see him ever starting a game at LB. Am I missing something?

I love your negative view on everything that is Ravens football. Your posts are hilarious!

He does have some upside-his speed is amazing. Time will tell! Just keep him away from the stadium steps and he should be good to go!

I don't believe I was addressing you either but appreciate your input!

Comment quoting your own post? Now you've gone from hilarious to confusing.

Yeah, he and a few others are known for quoting themselves! Hahaha!!

Honestly, Sergio does have a lot to learn to be successful in the NFL, but what college player doesn't have to improve some way or another in order to have NFL success? Thus is the "NFL learning curve". I'm sure he'll working to become better in coverage and learn some finesse moves when rushing the passer. But he is without-a-doubt an NFL talent and proved it at Texas.

Ehh, not too sure about that one. Combine #s comparison time!!!

Kindle
Height: 6'3
Weight: 251
40: 4.65
Bench: 25 reps
Broad jump: 9'10

Barnes
Height: 6'1
Weight: 240
40: 4.43
Bench: 31
Broad jump: 10'2

As you can see here, Barnes as superior numbers over Kindle, and 6'1 is not short at all for a DE/OLB, its pretty average, so saying Kindle's upside is 10x better, is a bit skewed
Although Barnes had better numbers at the combine, Kindle is the better football player. One of the reasons there are so many bad draft picks is because some GMs (Al Davis) focus too much on athleticism, and not enough on football talent. You don't have to be a track star to be a good football player. I know it's early, but just look at Terrence Cody. Definately not a track star, but still a pretty good football player.

And when the comment was made about Barnes being undersized, it wasn't referencing his height, moreso his weight. 240 is pretty small for a 3-4 OLB.

I hope this is true, and hopefully he comes back the week after our bye. As far as the barnes trade, this makes sense now. Honestly Barnes didnt produce that much in the 3 years he was here. Im not sure a 7th rounder was appropriate for barnes, but whatever, Ozzie had his reasons and nothing can be done now. As far as Kindle, not only was Kiper and Mcshay's high on Kindle, but .... so were the ravens. He was projected in the first round for a reason. The Ravens were extremely happy to get him where they got him. I can say this as far as upside, Barnes had 3 years, Kindle even through OTA's was already on the field more than Barnes. Kindle will be a monster and have more flexibility in our system. Besides, if we looked at just numbers from the combine and based our draft off that and not "football ability", we'd be the Raiders. And we all know the success of the Ravens first 2-3 picks every year... they are usually pretty damn good. I like the Kindle pick, and im excited to see him do much more (in one years time), then Barnes did in 3 years. Welcome to Bmore Kindle, hope your studying your playbook lol.

+1, ya beat me to it by a minute lol. Thats why our organization is successful in the draft, we draft "talented" "football players".

For what it's worth, I would expect him to be signed real soon to a possible low base, incentive laden contract. I also expect him to be placed on the PUP to get his legs back under him and up to game speed before taking the field. At that point, I think he will replace Burgess or Phillips on the roster. With the time he has on his hands during rehab, I would hope he knows that playbook inside and out!

I'm glad to hear that Kindle will be able to come back sometime this year. He will be a nice addition to our pass rush on 3rd downs. I like number 94 better, because 40's are usually reserved for RB's and DB's. We're going to have a lot of people coming back after week six!

I know it's good if he knows it well but...he DOES have Ray Lewis on the field to help guide him before the snap.

Combine numbers really lol. Barnes can be a good player dont get me wrong, he could just never piece it all together in Baltimore on a consistent basis. With Kindle you have a guy that fits what an ideal 3-4 OLB is, and he hides weight, he could very well get to 260 and not lose any explosiveness. Has a powerful bullrush, and a quick first step counter move. Barnes' pass rushing repitoire(sp) is even smaller than Kindle's is. The Demarcus Ware comparison is a little extreme lol, but my boy Fly would agree that Kindle looks, plays, and will be used alot like Boulware was for us. I got nothing but respect for Barnes, and Barnes will prob actually do really well in Phillys blitz happy scheme, but Kindle is the better football player.

Kindle has shown the ability to play the run too, Barnes just isn't a 3 down player.
Agreed. I even heard a scout on the radio say he felt Kindle was better against the run than rushing the passer.

I'm not your "bud" and I wasn't addressing you, but okay. Kiper and McShay touted him as arguably the best pass rusher in the draft...he only fell in the draft due to character concerns and knee issues and was projected to be a mid first round pick. I'll be one of the first to admit that projections amount to nothing a good bit of the time, but I liked what I saw from Kindle in college. He showed the versatility to play both LB and DE and really opened things up for Brian Orakpo when he was playing LB two years ago. He could open plays up for Suggs in the same way or vice-versa.

That's just my opinion, but I'll take Kiper and McShay's evaluation of Kindle over yours or mine any day.
tbh (granted this wasn't directed @ me) I'd take Kiper and Mayock.. I think Mcshay is a joke compared to those 2

I was talking about UPSIDE people. Not how good a player he was at THAT TIME.

I've not made ANY reference to how each plays, but focused strictly on physical aspects to emphasize the UPSIDE of the player

But how a player actually plays the game is also apart of their upside. If that wasnt the case, nobody would actually scout games...theyd just watch the underwear olympics.
