Congrats to David Reed!

I thought he had a good preseason and training camp. Please share your thoughts. I for one am looking forward to watching his development over the years.

well he beat Carolina's Steve Smith's records at Utah. I pray to the football god's that he can recreate the same results in the NFL.

wow...did not know that...only saw bits and pieces of him in pre-season games. 50% of Steve Smith would be good. I'm thinking we may see a lot of him on ST (KR PR)

I KNEW he would make the team. He's Mason Jr with the routes. I think he was one of the greater steals of the draft. Cant wait to see these young weapons grow with JFlac.

He's known to have excellent hands, and runs routes like he's a veteran. He'll get some good experience this year and maybe in the next year or so he can develop into a reliable target. Coming out of college they said he was a great target over the middle. So I imagine he would be our slot receiver.

I know he's had some questionable drops but I'm telling you, once he gains confidence on the NFL level, he will be a beast and those drops will be far apart from each other.

Congratulations Reed!

I hope he performs well for the team. I know we could use some Ravens picked WR development. Let's hope it starts off well with Reed and Smith.

Yeah, he had his fair share of drops. But his KR ability, his rookie status, and his potential saved him.

Hopefully he can improve throughout the season. Who knows - he may become very valuable for us.

I predicted Reed would be our number 4 2 weeks ago - I am also predicting that if Stallworth returns he will become the kickoff/punt return specialist and a third down receiver only. Reed is going to be much like Brian Brennan! A clutch go to guy!

Yeah especially for still being young this guy will be great. I didn't know much about him when we got him, but he can be exciting to watch

I knew we were going to keep this guy because of his special teams play and his wr ability over D. Williams who has seemed to be a one dimension player at doing nothing of any importance.

That and usually a guy that the Ravens draft in round 5 or earlier usually stays on the roster for at least a year. Unless your name is Davon Drew.

I'm happy about this too, Reed has something special about him.

Off topic, I don't care if DWill is faster, he's about as useful to us now as he was his entire career.

When DMase does retire, there will be some big shoes to fill. Hopefully Reed and/or Smith can fill those shoes.

I know a five letter word that will describe Reed by the end of the season--BEAST!
[/quote]

OMG a positive remark! Could we get more of these instead?

After watching the preseason games, I think some people may underrate David Reed's speed just a tad bit. Dude can run. Hopefully he catches opponents off guard with his speed.

The only question mark concerning him at the moment, in my opinion, would be his concentration when hauling in intermediate to long throws. There were 2 sideline passes in PS that hit him directly in the hands. But he's only a rookie, so at least he'll have some time to iron out the wrinkles. He could show some real promise down the Season.
