Barnes Gone, Kindle Coming?

34 posts in this topic

After I read the news about Antwan Barnes getting traded I was bummed out and thinking when Sergio would be back. I looked up his twitter and from the sound of it he is done with treatment and is heading back to Baltimore ASAP!

some quotes:

"Whats the deal world! Anotha day down til im back in that PURPLE & BLACK!! Lets get it 2nite Ravens! King Serg"

"What it is world!!! Its my last day y'all!! I cant wait to get it over with!! I'm almost BACK!!! King Serg"

"Whats the deal world! Im back at it for day 3! I got anotha day of GRINGING ahead and im on the job!! King Serg"

"i got on it while i was get'n my head better. Im almost back home tho! Home meaning....BALTIMORE"

http://twitter.com/KingSerg2

Sounds very promising!

Baltimore has already said they won't play him until he's medically cleared to play, no matter how well he's feeling. So hopefully he's cleared to play. However, he also (obviously) hasn't participated in any real practice with the team, so he's got alot of ground to make up.

Sure, but he knows more than we do and he is talking about being in purple and black, getting that money, etc.

He must be on his way back sooner than we think.

I know, I'm just saying I'm not getting my hopes up until I hear he's been cleared and getting ready to actually sign with the team.

Kindle's recovery has to have had some influence on the decision to move Barnes. Kindle should be in Baltimore within the next couple of weeks to be evaluated by our team doctors, which is great to say the least.

At least he'll have 6 weeks to learn the playbook and get himself into shape.

Spend extra time with coaches mainly just working on technique until he's ready to suit up.

Once he is signed and back with the team they probably will ease him into the game. A couple plays one week and then build on that as time goes on.

I'm just hoping that he can be back sooner now that Barnes is gone. I was counting on Barnes to step up for Kindle when he went down. Now Barnes is gone and I'm hoping Kindle can get back and step up for Barnes, haha.

Well, since he's been in a bed this whole time, i wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility that he has been studying formations, film, audibles, schemes, etc.

The guy fractured his skull, and has been out the entire preseason. No practices, no preseason games, nothing. I find it very hard to believe that the Ravens would be banking on this guy playing AT ALL this year.

And I really don't understand the trade of Barnes at all.

Perhaps they've seen enough from Kruger and Cory Redding to feel their pass rush will be okay, and they could afford to move Barnes. But I don't think that Sergio Kindle had anything to do with what happened to Barnes. I don't see Sergio playing this year.

With the NFL's new position on concussions... would it really allow a player who just fractured his skull to return to football the same season?

Considering your always very cynical about anything Ravens I don't really put much stock into anything you say.

I'd bet Kindle will play at some point this year. I was curious if he would or not but now that he is coming to baltimore in the next day or so and he is gearing up to get to work. I'd have to say that he will contribute at some point.

Barnes getting traded still sucks but Kruger did step his game up so that is another person they can turn to. Cory Redding had good sack numbers from his days in Detroit then he went to Seattle and he didn't produce as much in their system. I've already seen him in the preseason get into the backfield so he should help out as well.

Didn't kruger injury his shoulder and wasn't it more serious then that thought and now is awaiting more test results? Really don't understand the move, Barnes was blowing people up this offseason..

Yeah, Kruger has a shoulder injury but I don't remember hearing how serious it was. I agree, this trade of Barnes caught me off guard. I usually have some idea of what is coming up with regards to transactions because I read everything I can find on the Ravens.

I saw the trade for Barnes on ESPN and I was at least hoping for some measure of depth at CB in return (which is what I always assume when we make a trade nowadays). But never question the OZ-maister

I do not agree with the team's decision to cut Barnes. He was the best pass rusher besides Suggs and we are getting a Mr. Irrelevant for him. It was not a cap issue, it wasn't a performance issue and it wasn't a character issue. I think this is very stupid and I'm disappointed in Ozzie's decision.

Let's hope Suggs stays healthy because we are screwed if he goes down, same with Jarrett really.

@ Alexir...I respect your opinion...But I saw Cory Redding in the pre-season game against the Giants and he looked pretty good. Maybe they saw Redding's potential as a pass rusher.

It might be a good idea to just put Kindle on IR to be safe.

I think we would be fine with our pass rushers we have now. Like mentioned earlier, Kindle has no experience of any kind this year.

Redding is a great talent at DE. But I'm talking about how there is no quality depth at OLB.

Edgar Jones was our TE now he is suppose to back up Suggs and JJ along with Prescott Burgess?

Kindle will not do anything this year. He missed all of pre season and training camp. I doubt he comes in half way through the season and does much.

Trading Barnes has been talked about for quite sometime, it shouldn't be a shocker.
And if anyone thinks we're getting not much in return, you can basically say we got Wilson for free.
I follow Kindle on Twitter as well, and he has literally been counting down the days until he gets here.
I believe he's here in Bmore at the hospital getting evaluated.
I can't wait to see him play.
I'm thinking they'll put him on the PUP, unless he's ready earlier.

We did get Wilson for free basically but I just felt with Kindle down we should of kept a guy like Barnes over a guy like Burgess. That's just my opinion.

I would be surprised to see Kindle up to speed this season. He missed a whole training camp.

While I agree that camp is vital, these guys have been playing ball their entire lives. If you can ball, you can ball!!

That's a good point, he only really missed one training camp since he was about 7, presumably.

As far as rushing the passer, I'm not so sure he'll have a lot to learn, he's already an ace at that. Not to mention he'll be learning from Suggs.

As long as he's been reading the play book, I guess he ll come in off the bench for rushing situations but missing a training camp your rookie year can really hurt you unless you're a talent like Crabtree.

Do we even know if he is gonna be cleared to play? What's the concussion rules?

Kindle practiced with the team during OTAs and whatever else they do before training camp. It's not like he hasn't looked at the playbook before. If he is healthy and he can play I'm sure the Ravens will find something for him to do.

There were no talks of trading Barnes other than the speculation to get a CB, those thoughts also included Mcgahee and...someone else I'm forgetting. Other than that there was no conversations going on about Barnes getting traded for a 7th round pick.

Kruger if healthy will help and Cory Redding did show he still has the ability to get behind enemy lines. I know one thing, I sure hope Mount Cody's knee heals up so he can take on two or three blockers and allow Suggs and Co. to run around untouched.
