I don't think one incident is enough to call for his release. I'd take a healty Stalls over TJ as well, but I really couldn't ask for a better replacement while Stalls recovers. Plus TJ's a deep threat also.

Baltimore seems to have a discipline that leaves no room for any divas. With that said, TJ will do more good than bad.

Housh isn't a deep threat. He's really just a bigger Derrick Mason.

Who is hating?

People were skeptical before the deal went down, myself included, but everyone seems to be generally happy with the move.

I'm hating. :P

In all seriousness, though, I'll keep admitting upfront that I'm a Houshmandzadeh hater, and will continue to be, except in cases where he's making plays for the Ravens. I can support the team and still dislike him when he's not on the field.

If TJ was our #1, I may be a little concerned, but as it stands, he's not. That being said, welcome to Baltimore. We're a better team with you here.

Who's getting cut to make room for him? That's my concern. I like Reed. Hate to see him go.
Yeah, I figure Reed gets the cut. :(

They were saying it will most likely be Reed or Marcus Smith you gets demoted or waived.

I want Reed to stick around to, I think he could do well with some more development.
TJ has the ability to get behind the secondary and has the ability to build a real quick burst of speed for short distances he can't take it the distance from like 60 yards out but he can catch a 20 yard pass and turn it into a 40 yard TD.

He is a hybrid between Mason and Boldin really, which is nice. And like I said, its true the Ravens don't have a true deep threat but I would rather have 3 proven #2 WR who can all run great routes, accumulate YAC, and show physicality. If your nickel corner is paired up with Mase or Housh...there is a good chance they will look silly, bite on a studder step or double move and then they are left wide open and THERE is your threat. Also, Boldin and TJ in the red zone along with Heap gives Flacco 3 incredible, reliable red zone targets.

I highly doubt TJ will be ready for the jets game. I mean look how long it took for boldin and stallworth to get on the same page with our offense and flacco. I don't see it happening in 7 days...

One thing this adds is depth. Boldin has been in great health this year but he's always hurt because of the way he plays so if he goes down for a few games we have another all pro caliber WR to step in. I don't see how it works when stallworth comesback though they may have to release one of them.

Any report on which roster spot he took, Smith, Reed?

I disagree, I think TJ will see some game action. Receivers gets traded during the season and are in the lineup the next week. It happens every year. Sure he isn't going to have the offense down but he will see some playing time. Just like Josh Wilson will.

True but it's a good sign to have him here before the season starts. We might switch playing time between Clayton and TJ (more time to Clayton cause he's been here longer.) I think it all depends on if the terminology is similar and the playbook. Other than that, we might give him a few plays to ease into the system just like we are doing with Josh Wilson on the defensive side.

He'll probably see some limited action, i'm sure Cam will find a way to get him out there in SOME capacity though and then just gradually ease him into the offense over the next few weeks.

Chances are, while Houshmandzadeh's learning the playbook, Flacco and Cam Cameron will simplify things for him by having him run basic routes and Flacco may give him the exact route while in the huddle. This'll complicate some of the no-huddle drives that Cam will try to put together, but it'll at least put Houshmandazeh on the field and give opposing defenses another body to worry about.

Are the Ravens going to carry 7 receivers on the roster, even though one is injured?

It's not like he can't go deep. People say Boldin and Clayton aren't deep threats, but they make deep catches way down the field and so does TJ.

I couldn't agree more.

As for what T.J. will do next week against the Jets, I can see him getting a few targets. I'd run a screen a slot or jailbreak screen to him at some point if I were Cam.

doesnt matter really if he is a deep threat,if Joe can get the throw down field and hit him in stride it will work, but Joe's throws were a little short last year, let's hope thats been improved we could see alot of quick deep passes this year completed

I'm not saying he can't go deep but he isn't a deep threat in the mold of Steve Smith or Lee Evans.

The WR depth chart will now be:

WR 1 Boldin
WR 2 Mason
WR 3 Houshmandzadeh
WR 4 Clayton

And it will be that way starting with Game 1
