This is true, but the concern other than his temper that I have is his willingness to give 100%. I won't discredit his talent or what he does to elevate this receiving corps, and I'm certainly all for his success here in Baltimore. I'm just wondering if there'll be times where he might short-arm a few passes over the middle in a comeback attempt, or he might not want to play as hard if he's no more than the #4 WR on the depth chart.

Again, all for him having a great and productive season that the Ravens can benefit from, but I just hope that he doesn't revert to that poor attitude he displayed in Seattle (according to some Seahawks fans I'm friends with), and that he doesn't do anything dire to cost us a game or two.
Well that should make him want to compete even more. If he doesn't want to be the 4th WR on the depth chart he has to go out there and compete even harder. Show the coaching staff he deserves to be up the chart!!

I'm excited over how the Ravens offense is shaping up.

Just imagine a 4 WR formation with Boldin, Mason, TJ, Stallworth and Clayton....mouth is watering
Well that would be a 5 reciever set :P

But Im excited about our receiving group, I just wanna wait to get all happy until its official that we signed him, and not just per adam schaffer :P

hows his Blocking?,it's been awhile since I have seen tj play. You know blocking off Revis to get Boldin open works to lol
I haven't seen Houshmandzadeh play in awhile, and the last season I really paid attention to him was 2007. If I remember correctly, Chad Ochocinco was always the better blocker of the two, even though Houshmandzadeh has a bigger frame and wingspan.

Oh, yeah, you're right. Forgot about that..

But why would he wanted to come here? He's made it known that he does not like the Ravens. And I'm sure that other teams were interested.
He knows this team is on the edge to win a SB and i would think if you are on your way out of the league you would want to be on a team who is prime to win it this year and that's Ravens we are ready this year no rebuilding for us team is in place so let's get to work.

He wasnt suppose to like them but I think he had all the respect in the world. Dont forget when he was in the north we were the cocky loudmouth team everyone hated.

I believe he was quoting Schefter when Pete Medhurst on 105.7 said Housh wanted to come back to the AFC North.

Boldin; Mason; Housh > Revis Island!

Let's see how much Revis is worth when he has to cover those 3!

2009 Baltimore Ravens

Mason
Clayton
Washington
Williams

2010 Baltimore Ravens

Boldin
Mason
TJ Houshman.
Clayton
Stallworth
Reed

---

Joe Flacco easily has the best WR core in the NFL now, and I don't think anyone can argue that.

That's pretty pathetic. I've never seen Chad show any zeal in blocking. Regardless, the Ravens have one of the best blocking WRs in the game in Q and to a lesser extent, Clayton.

Happy? hell yeah
Concerned ? a little

There are only so many touches to go around.
Who'syomamma, Mason, Q, Heap, and the new rookie TE's
On paper sounds like a powerhouse but does it cause whining amongst the ranks as far as touches?
Does this effect Ray Rice as well? We are a run first or not team?
All I'm saying it's great for the fans but will certain players vent about the lack of participation? Always seems to be one on every team.
Well Mason, Rice, and Boldin let it all be known that they understand they have to share the ball. They are happy as long as they win.

The Ravens are still going to run the ball but lets be honest, of course they are going to throw it a little more with all these weapons. Whatever the situations call for! Cam has so many gameplans he can fall back on with this group, it's going to be incredible to watch.

True. Harbaugh's completely changed the culture of the team. The Ravens are now one of the league's most respected teams, particularly ever since shutting up Jerry Jones in 2008 after it was reported that he wanted a "weak" team to close down historic Texas Stadium. These days, you can't go on an NFL news site or turn on ESPN or NFL Network without hearing or seeing at least one mention of the Ravens.

I think that the chance to play the Bengals twice was definitely a factor, as well as the loaded roster that the Ravens already have. The Jets probably could've made a play for him, but they likely didn't do enough to sell him. Plus, I believe some of Houshmandzadeh's off-field beef was with Bart Scott and Rex Ryan -- both of whom are no longer on the Ravens, hence even more reason for him to join, as this is a drastically different Ravens roster and coaching stafff than back in 2008, his last season as a Bengal.
Makes sense. Thanks. There were a lot of other potential great teams waiting for him - Vikings, Jets, etc but he chose us. Our WR core has never been better.

I don't think Scott was in the interest of making friends with anyone on the field. He was much more interested in laying down and jawing as Chris Johnson (and other running backs) ran right past him.

I keep hearing that there are only so many touches to go around blah blah blah. This is supposed to be the unselfish year for everyone with one goal in mind. I dont care about the stats. If Housh. can make this a better more threatening team than lets welcome him. The past is the past and its not like he has had off the field issues. I am stoked about the signing and will welcome any addition that can get us to the dance!!!

I'll say this upfront: I don't like T.J. Houshmandzadeh based on what I've seen from him, character-wise. I'll obviously cheer for him if he makes a big play for the Ravens, and I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't admit it. But the minute he slips up, I also won't hesitate to call for his release.

He's a Raven, so I'm hoping for his success. But he's also a guy that I would've rather NOT have on the team if Donte' Stallworth hadn't gone down with the injury, just because I'm concerned about the diva-like behavior.
I don't think one incident is enough to call for his release. I'd take a healthy Stalls over TJ as well, but I really couldn't ask for a better replacement while Stalls recovers. Plus TJ's a deep threat also.

Baltimore seems to have a discipline that leaves no room for any divas. With that said, TJ will do more good than bad.

Are you haters kidding me??? He's an amazing slot receiver. Not even Revis can stop two really good wideouts. He's definitely worth signing if they can snatch him up. Funny thing about you guys bringing this up too. I did a sim game last night with Flacco on all-pro on madden 11 and I broke the 300 passing yard mark against the jets 2 games in a row and had 270 yards another after signing TJ to the team. Could barely put up 200 when they double-teamed (or single manned him in Revis's case) Boldin. TJ has the speed and can cut routes really well if you've ever watched him play. He just needs a non-injured, healthy quality QB throwing his way. As far as an attitude problem? He's stayed out of trouble and I've not heard anything on him being any lower than a professional at what he does. I think he'd be a great addition to our team. Do i think it will happen? I'm crossing my fingers. =)

I love it. Jets sign Revis...Ravens say alright... we'll sign Houshmandzadeh...now we have a ridiculous WR corps even before Stallworth returns, oh and the Seahawks are paying 7 mil of his 7.85 million dollar salary. He is big, great hands, great route runner. We don't have a true deep threat but when you have 3 legitimate #2 WRs on 1 team all with different abilities and skill sets, all who run great routes...just WOW.

Remember he is 6'2 203, and still racked up 911 yards last season on a bad Seahawks team. He is basically the 2010 version of Kelly Washington, but 10 times better. Now, for fantasy reasons, this will split up Boldin's touches and targets, but as a team standpoint it makes their WR corps near unstoppable.

I cannot think of a single other team with the experience, toughness, and route running ability of the 2010 Ravens...

Is there a more complete WR corps in the NFL? At this point, I'm really not sure.

Who is hating? (besides warden, LOL)

People were skeptical before the deal went down, myself included, but everyone seems to be generally happy with the move.
