I'm torn about this.

On one hand, the guy is another target for Flacco and he knows the tendencies of some of his former Bengals teammates, even though the offense and defense has dramatically changed in the year since he's left Cincinnati. On the other hand, I'm concerned that he might not show 100% effort on the field, especially when the team will inevitably hit adversity as every team does. The guy is already getting paid a king's ransom with the money that the Seahawks are on the hook for, so his pay won't be a concern for this season...but that still doesn't account for his temper.

The guy has a history of losing his cool, and though he has yet to do it at a moment that's cost his team, I'm almost concerned it's a ticking time-bomb. In any event, I'm glad it's only a one-year deal and at little financial cost to the Ravens, so the team can cut him at a moment's notice if he makes just one mistake.

I don't think this has anything to do with revis, I think whosyourmama was looking for someone with playoff potential. He's gonna get paid more then he's worth no matter what.

This is very surprising!

I'm glad it's the veteran minimum, but also wary because of it. Why was no team willing to give TJ a bigger contract? Not complaining, just curious. He makes our receiving core that much better and provides another big receiver for Joe to get the ball to.

Now, who gets cut for this pick-up?
The Ravens signed him for the veteran minimum because the Seahawks are still on the hook for at least $7 million owed to him in base salary this season; so essentially, Seattle pays the difference of what they owe vs. whatever his new team is paying him.

Thats the only concern right now.

But with so many teams out there that don't have WR corps, you wonder why he's coming here? Only one reason to me, he sees the talent and wants to win a superbowl.

Look TJ is one man, he isn't going to disrupt what the Ravens have. The Ravens have their leaders in the locker room. TJ is coming in to make our WRs even deeper and give opposing teams more to think about.

Not worried at all about his temper, you got to figure he is happy to just have a job right now. He was on the open market and no teams were really rushing after his services. He still had a decent year last season so he can still be productive...it's a good price for the Ravens...I'm good with it even though I didn't really care for TJ from his Cincy days

Just imagine a 4 WR formation with Boldin, Mason, TJ, Stallworth and Clayton....mouth is watering

That's five people but yeah, [drool...]

I'll say this upfront: I don't like T.J. Houshmandzadeh based on what I've seen from him, character-wise. I'll obviously cheer for him if he makes a big play for the Ravens, and I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't admit it. But the minute he slips up, I also won't hesitate to call for his release.

He's a Raven, so I'm hoping for his success. But he's also a guy that I would've rather NOT have on the team if Donte' Stallworth hadn't gone down with the injury, just because I'm concerned about the diva-like behavior.

There is no team going to be able to stop the Ravens offense this year.

Boldin, Mason, TJ, Clayton, Stallworth (when healthy)

Heap, Dickson, Pitta

Rice, McGahee

OMG!!!!

I think.this is a testament to.TJs character...he signed with the team he thinks gives him the best chance to win...this is incredible.

Boldin
Mason
Housh

Are you kidding me? That is the best WR corps in the AFC North...Housh is now your #3 that's awesome.

The Ravens have no interest in him.
I was wrong.

My personal feelings for him aside, this is fantastic move. Housh has great hands and will allow Mason or Q to slide into the slot creating major mismatches.

This is true, but the concern other than his temper that I have is his willingness to give 100%. I won't discredit his talent or what he does to elevate this receiving corps, and I'm certainly all for his success here in Baltimore. I'm just wondering if there'll be times where he might short-arm a few passes over the middle in a comeback attempt, or he might not want to play as hard if he's no more than the #4 WR on the depth chart.

Again, all for him having a great and productive season that the Ravens can benefit from, but I just hope that he doesn't revert to that poor attitude he displayed in Seattle (according to some Seahawks fans I'm friends with), and that he doesn't do anything dire to cost us a game or two.

Oh, yeah, you're right. Forgot about that..

But why would he wanted to come here? He's made it known that he does not like the Ravens. And I'm sure that other teams were interested.

with Stalls out for at least 6(maybe more, they may know something we don't),it's a good deal, with Boldin and Mason as your primary targets T.J. is a nice third option
Just what i was trying to say several days ago, i though the pic up would be good since donta went down for 6-8weeks that's a long time in football. I know some might not like him or think he's a diva but he can play ball, seahawks are getting younger this year with new coach he can play. I can't wait to see us face Bengals lol. Welcome TJ i guess i will have to learn to spell his last name.

I get what you're saying but I think he'll do fine in this locker room of leaders and the tough, gritty nature of this team. Of course this is more me hoping he fades in the shadow (since he's going to be a #3 at best) and plays good football like he's capable of.

So TJ, keep your mouth shut and learn the playbook!

I think that the chance to play the Bengals twice was definitely a factor, as well as the loaded roster that the Ravens already have. The Jets probably could've made a play for him, but they likely didn't do enough to sell him. Plus, I believe some of Houshmandzadeh's off-field beef was with Bart Scott and Rex Ryan -- both of whom are no longer on the Ravens, hence even more reason for him to join, as this is a drastically different Ravens roster and coaching stafff than back in 2008, his last season as a Bengal.

Happy? hell yeah
Concerned ? a little

There are only so many touches to go around.
Who'syomamma, Mason, Q, Heap, and the new rookie TE's
On paper sounds like a powerhouse but does it cause whining amongst the ranks as far as touches?
Does this effect Ray Rice as well? We are a run first or not team?
All I'm saying it's great for the fans but will certain players vent about the lack of participation? Always seems to be one on every team.
