Can't knock David Reed yet, this guy is going to end up being something special
I have to agree that I'm expecting to see the same and I wasn't knocking the kid. But I do feel Clayton is better at this point in Reeds' career.

Poor choice of words on my part  but it almost came down to us choosing between the two. And I'm personally content with the decision we made

I think it was a smart football move, but let me be the first to stand up and salute Mark Clayton! By all accounts he was a terrific teammate, as hard a worker as anyone, and just a stand up guy. While he may not have been the number one guy he was drafted as, he has certainly proved deserving of a long career in the NFL. Thank you for everything, Mark, and best of luck in the future!

They Released him...therefore making him a free agent and able to go to any team that he desired..... Through his agent, Housh said that hes very "excited to play for a excellent organization like the Ravens" so before everyone starts on the Diva...tearing the lockeroom apart deal....lets see how he plays

right now everyones assuming...which to me isnt fair now is it? is it? if you were him.....would YOU like it if people were doubting you everywhere you went...callingyou a diva? i sure hell wouldnt!... SO with that said....dont kill the cat before hes had a chance.
I'm not assuming anything, I'm basing all of my opinions on the substantial evidence of his poor attitude. So yes, he deserves every bit of criticism coming his way. I hope he proves me wrong but I'm not about to receive him with open arms only to be punched in the stomach by any of his possible antics. It's called healthy skepticism...

well TJ has always struck me as more of a possession receiver, and not much of a deep threat. If you look at our roster, its filled with possession type guys. Boldin and Mason being two of the best in the league. If the ravens were to sign an additional receiver it would probably be a deep threat such as Vincent Jackson who is not a happy camper over in Charger's land.

but i don't see the ravens signing another.

I dont think the Ravens are gonna push for anymore recievers, WE STILL NEED DB'S!!!

Just woke up from a NC hangover to read this!!! Ha, 4 WR sets are going to be insane!! If Joe doesn't think we all have faith in him, he'd be crazy!!

pretty good idea ? Now??
I'll admit it, I was wrong with this one (quick, someone quote this in case I edit it and remove me admitting that I was wrong).

I will say, the usage of the question marks was a bit confusing though.....sorry, had to!

They still have TJ hangover. Ever since he left, the players that have filled his shoes have paled in comparison. They are hoping Owens changes that.

No we don't. We'll be just fine.

And looking at the Bengals board- most of those guys are clowns. Only a few of them aren't wearing orange sunglasses and are actually fans of football.

Umm I was on the Bengals board and they were saying Mason is on IR. I haven't been looking into football today so tell me if it's true.

All you need to do is check this board. If Mason were on IR, there would probably be...mmmm...8 threads about it.

lol that's indication of being panic and frightened because they just can't handle Boldin, Mason, and T.J Trio fearsome.

Don't really know how to feel about the signing because I feel we have 3of the same type of receivers..all possession, all 3 not very fast, and none are overly gifted freaks like a Moss,Marshall,Jackson that can make the deep ball alittle easier..but none the less I'm happy..

I think I would rather have stallworth opposite are two starters so at least he can add another dynamic to the offense. Keep some of those safties honest.

A guy on the jets board actually made me chuckle when he said..great now the ravens get to argue which Wr is gonna do the 10 yd post..

That is probably true. Im sure we'll have plenty of WR discussions this year. But at least it will be better than last year, where we discussed our lack of WRs all season long.

There is too much stock put on having a "Moss" on every team. Take a look at the last few years SB winners if you need any convincing.

I think our problem in the past is not about throwing deep ball, but instead throwing short passes. We didn't have anyone strong enough to catch balls in the middle. Now we have Boldin which fits perfectly. Additionally, besides Boldin, there are T.J and Mason to cover and either of them can go deep but no effectively like Moss or Marshall; however, they are still threat to be one on one cover by #2 or 3 CBs.

With quick slant to either Boldin and Mason for first down, and T.J for long pass for a stretch. A mixture of plays will delivered effectively. Not to mention the Heap and Dickson in the mix as well as Pitta.

If it's any consolation, you'll probably forget all about the deep threat thing the first time we watch Anquan turn one of those 9 yard crosses into a 60 yard dash for the end zone.

You don't need a deep bomb if someone can get open easily with a crossing route, out route, or quick slant consistently.
Yea but it keeps defenses honest...makes the safety think twice about biting...makes corners give up more cushion..regardless to the point that we don't have that deep ball threat..we are gonna at least have to try to establish it...

Meh, Boldin and Mason can go deep if they have to. They're not amazing at it, but they can keep defenses honest. And really, as long as someone runs a deep route he's going to be covered and there's more room in the open field, so...it's not a huge deal.

Yea I mean I honestly get on Flacco for that constant check down to ray...but with that and ray's emergance as a runner...the linebacker corps we face this year should all be focused on him and should open some things in the middle of the field...but I still think some of these opposing safetys will play close...so I'm just hoping we at least attempt the deep ball....and one of our WRs is up for the challenge. Some early deep balls in our first couple games could take a lot of pressure off rice and our Wrs.

I remember when people were getting antsy at the thought of facing Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens and Antonio Bryant. Then Bryant gets cut, we land Houshmandzadeh, and Bengal fans are now showing concern. Role reversals can be very interesting.

As stated earlier, the Seahawks are on the hook for roughly $7 million in releasing Houshmandzadeh, so Seattle has to pay the difference between that and whatever amount he gets from his new team, hence his willingness to sign with any team of his choice for the veteran minimum. Housh is getting paid no matter what, he just chose to sign with a championship contender.
