Sounds like somebody just puckered a little more! To be honest, I'd be scared of us this year, too ;)
Keep reading. I'm not concerned about him at all. Though they might be no-names, our WR's are pretty good too and we have the better secondary.

I sincerely hope the team doesn't let Mark Clayton go via trade unless it's for a fair amount of value; the guy's just starting to play well in the slot and you'd think the team would want to hold onto a guy like Clayton who knows the playbook and has improved. Granted, this could be like a situation with Antwan Barnes where he's in a contract year and they want to unload him now while he's still got value, but you'd think that retaining Clayton would be a better move to maintain depth in the receiving corps, especially since there's no guarantee that Houshmandzadeh will have an easy time picking up the offense and contribute immediately.
Well supposedly we'll cut him if he doesn't get traded.
I don't know why we're so keen to cut a wideout though. We DO NOT need 9 (last time I counted) <5 technique defensive lineman on the team. I'd prefer Clayton over Divens.

I don't get it! You go out and assemble probably the best WR corp in the NFL, then turn around and place a veteran receiver on the trade block. Certainly, TJ is an upgrade to Mark in abilities only. I didn't care for Clayton as a #2 but, was content in having him as a #3 and as a #4 goes without saying. I would at least keep him until Stalls comes back, if for anything he's good depth, should Boldin, Mason or TJ go down to injury. Plus there's that chemistry thing with Joe that already exists.

It's beginning to become too whirlwind for me! Feels like I'm tumbling around in a dryer.

This is why I love our front office. Welcome aboard TJ Whosyomama. Say hello to the NFL's best WR corps. Boldin-Mason-Houshmandzadah-Stallworth....are you kidding me???? Wow, and to think that there was a time that Travis Taylor, Devard Darling and Clarence Moore were starting for us, or fighting for the #2 :eww:

Flashy moves errrrrrywhere... I won't complain about this signing in the abstract as big personality guys are almost always kept under control by Ray et al., Stallworth is down for awhile, and we're having Seattle pay all the money.

I wish the big acquisition had been a cornerback, but I'll take this.

Whoever the number three ends up being is going to have a gargantuan season as Boldin, the #2 (Mason/Housh/Stallworth when he's back), Rice, and even Heap all take precedent in the passing game over the third wide receiver (Mason/Housh/Stallworth when he's back).

Ozzie's strategy at fixing any given position is now clearly to way overload the unit with talent until their credentials are totally unquestioned. He has done so with the offensive line, running backs, tight ends, quarterbacks, and now wide receivers.

Although the offensive line is not completely loaded, because Oz and co. made so many acquisitions a few years ago, we're down a few players in the trenches and still have a very good line. Now, if only one of those many linebackers could pan out. . .

well for the first part of the season Stallworth will be filled by someone else.Who should get the #4 spot. What if they throw heap there like they did in some preseason so Dickson or Pitta could be on the field also

I actually think Clayton is a better blocker(based on what Franchise said a few pages back) but overall, T.J. is undoubtedly a better player.
:-/ you may be right, I think the team is looking beyond this year thinking Mase doesn't have many years left, boldin is a warrior, maybe their eye is toward the future. Stallworth and Housh have one year deals and this could be Mason's last year and if they are not happy with who we have left long term then at some point change does happen.

All this means is that somebody should be open just about every down, if necessary. Add that to our running game and this offense should be close to the top of the league. This puts a lot of pressure on the o-line and Flacco but both should be up to the test if the past two seasons were any clue of what was to come.

I know I was way late on this discussion, but for everyone who was saying that Housh shouldn't be here because he is a possession receiver like Mase and Boldin, are you forgetting that Clayton (our former #3) was also a possession receiver?

And, just saying, I started a topic like this way early in the offseason predicting this move. I feel like a beast. me

Wow that's ironic. I saw people getting the (-) for suggesting we nab the Housh and what do I find the next time I check up on our Ravens? They sign him! Hahahaha man as long as he keeps his mouth shut and doesn't complain about not getting enough throws his way (which seemed to be his MO in Seattle... which btw... that makes 3 players from them we've taken lol) then this offense should be NASTY.

Crazy. Bold. Unexpected. Awesome.

Basically,
Half of them are scared. The other half are homers, saying that he's a head case and that he'll tear to locker room apart. Kinda funny coming from fans of a team that signed TO, the head case of head cases.
Also they say that it doesn't matter because our secondary is so terrible. Little do they know...

Not to mention Ken Hamlin, who made his mark more with the Seahawks than with the Cowboys.

I may have to send the city of Seattle a thank-you card. :)
