Adam_Schefter: Redskins signed QB John Beck to a two-year $2.25 million contract extension. Beck contractually tied to Wash for next three years at $3.35m. [Twitter]
Just wanted to say good job on John Beck's part landing an extension down in Washington. Odds are we'll see very little of the guy ever again but the guy got paid. Same can't be said for the other person involved in that trade - Doug Dutch.

We basically just gave Beck away for free lol. Not that it matters, of course. It's just kinda cool that our FO threw him a bone with that deal. He had no shot of landing a job here, so we sent him somewhere where he would, and now he's their #3 for the next three years.

The Ravens know how to take care of their players, and that's a great thing to see.

Yeah, I'm happy for him. I'm sure that some will say "we should have gotten more than Doug Dutch, what a terrible move!" I'm just happy that the guy got a job, everything worked out. Not like he's a divisional rival or something, and besides...he's a backup QB.

And they only moved him down the road. It's not like he had to haul his life to the other side of the country.
Though I think we're probably overstating the good intention of the FO. Much of this is likely coincidence. They'd screw over one of our players to get a good deal in second and I'd ultimately think less of them if they wouldn't.

I disagree, the only person I can really think of that the Ravens really screwed over was Trent Dilfer. The Ravens paid the price for that one and I think they learned their lesson.
That being said, Beck was a guy that Cam worked with down in Miami and thinks highly of. He has talent, maybe not starting QB talent but you never know they have a good coach in Shannahan and he has a great QB to sit behind and watch in Mcnabb maybe a few years down the line he can at least try to compete for the starting job down there.
