Does anyone else think we should get this guy? Personally, I think he's the best corner in the draft. I used to think it was Mike Jenkins but this guy has come out of nowhere and tore up the Senior Bowl. He's a little think but he's tall, runs a 4.3 40 and has a 38" vertical. Hope we get him.

I agree that this guy is great, but I'm not sure he's worththe 8th overall pick yet; if he's still around in the 2nd I'd say grab him though.

FYI - this will most likely get moved to teh draft section of the boards once the mods see the topic

He played div II football and he didn't even dominate. It's not like we're talking about a guy who dominated 4 straight years at Ohio State or something. He's a small school guy who looked okay i guess. Rashean Mathis for instance was a beast in college, he had like 20 interceptions in his senior year i believe and the Jaguars drafted him in the 2nd round. Why would you draft this Cromartie guy in the top 10 now, just because of his 4.33 speed or what he did at the senior bowl? We made that mistake with David Pittman. Let's not do this again. :D

I dont think he's worth the number 8th selection in the draft. I hope the team is very cautious if they do persue him because the media has been hyping this guy up alot mainly because his cousin is a stud.

Did you even watch the senior bowl?

Here, this will help you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFAc3Puo68k

This kid can play, period. Don't let this small school stuff scare you. Yes, the Chargers' Cromartie is his cousin.

I wouldn't object to taking him #8 based on work ethic in preparing for the combine along with his eye-popping numbers. This is a big time playmaker in the corner slot. Having a 4 man corner rotation of Cmac, Rolle, DRC, and Pittman wouldn't upset me.

Pittman should be the nickleback this year as well, as he gets more playing time I think he can easily be adequate in the #2 slot.

For the "raw" people - yes, DRC is a bit raw, but my money on this is when we look back at this draft in 5 years, DRC is going to be far and away the best corner.

He can play? A senior bowl practice means he can play? David Pittman looked great in the senior bowl. Look at what happened to him. Or how about Sinorice Moss? Another Senior Bowl MVP. And what about Tony Hunt or Matt Jones? They are about to get cut.

Cromartie had 4 years to turn into a star in college. He didn't do anything. He looked solid in college but that's about it. You take away the "Cromartie" in his name, then you turn his 4.33 into a 4.43 and he's gonna be a late round pick. People that draft him in the 2nd or even 1st round do that based on his upside, not because of what he has done in college. There's a huge boom/bust potential with Cromartie. You don't do that in the 1st round. In round 1 you want a guy who's productive. You don't gamble. In round 2 maybe.

yeah ive always liked this guy, if he's not the best he is definitely one of the best. not worth the 8 pick but if he is still there by the 2nd we would be crazy not to snatch him.

corners in this draft are deep i think ozzie is gonna have a field day this year specially being in the top ten

And Props on the Dilfer joke!! Funny stuff, im definitely stealing your line

Except he did run a 4.33 at 6'2" and DID have a great leaping interception in the game along with some solid tackles. I understand the hesitance to draft on potential, but there isn't any way this kid is around at #39. If he is, I'll eat my humble pie and hopefully he's a Raven.

I think #8s a bit high, but I could justify it if I had to. Ideally, some kind of trade with dallas and then taking him at #22 would be more palatable for me personally.

I can go on and cite more examples of good players who came from small schools that weren't "stars" and were from small schools. We'll see what happens - i just have a higher opinion of him and more faith in the Ravens being able to develop him as a player. Pittman, apparently, had some issues with adjusting from college to the NFL, but I think he'll end up being pretty good this year.

Thanks for your take on DRC, good to hear from everyone.

I like this guy a lot looks like he has potential, but I don't think he would be worth it at #8 which most everyone else said. I don't really think any corner in this draft is worth #8 but we can always trade down or even still pick up a quality corner in the 2nd rd.

I wouldn't be peeved if he was our overall #8 pick. I'd rather trade down but that's probably wishful thinking.

I am not interested in breaking the bank on a guy that is really a project player. Thats what will happen if we use the number 8th pick on him. We need to trade down or take someone else.

if we take a corner in th 1st round it should be Brandon Flowers, he fits perfect in our hart hiting Defence.

yeah but for a number 8 pick he wouldn't be worth it. We could prob still get him in the 2nd.

I don't like him even in the 2nd round. I think Ozzie is looking for a real smash-mouth football player which this guy is not

if you watched the combine his first 40 was a 4.28 so thats his real speed i go with best not average

I like this guy alot. Big, strong, and fast!! Draft this guys let him learn from Rolle and CMac. Look at what his cousin has done. Theres another guy he can learn from. And his cousin talks to Deion all the time and get tips from him.
